GTA IV is the next port for PS5/Switch/Xbox S/X after RDR1?

Recommended Posts

Apparently, after the fantastic ports of RDR1 for current consoles and PC, I believe that GTA 4 is Double Eleven's next work, GTA 4 is a beautiful game and deserves, like Red Dead Redemption 1, a port for the new generation, as for The PC version you already have also deserves a rework as it is a problematic FPS port

Now just wait for what comes next before or after GTA 6

I got RDR on the Switch and it surprised me how good it was/is.

I’d love if GTA IV got a port. I play my PS5 way more than my Series X nowadays so a port even if it’s just a PS4 version running on PS5 would be fine, but a native PS5 version would be even better.

I guess what I’m saying is I want to have any kind of excuse to play GTA IV on my PS5.😉

If they are going for GTA IV next following RDR1, it will only be exclusive to PS4 and Switch, plus backwards compatibility support to PS5. The rest of the modern platforms (such as Xbox Series consoles or Windows PCs), will never receive them at all. There's a reason why RDR1 was not released on any Xbox console, it's because of already-existing backwards compatibility, while RDR1 never had a PC port back in 2010.

For GTA IV's case it is different, as on both Xbox and PC, the game still runs; while PlayStation & Switch users can't play the game at all as GTA IV never had a port for PS4 or Switch.

Makes sense. It's  likely that's what they would do.

I don’t think it’s gonna happen, I want it so bad but unless if it gets released sometime in the next 6-8 months you can forget about it. Then once GTA6 releases, forget about anything for many many years other than sh*tty GTA online updates.

Considering the success of all the RDR ports, I feel like R* may continue working with Double Eleven. I could definitely see them tackling GTA IV considering that the game isn't even available on PS4/5.

I know it’s slim, but I also wouldn’t mind seeing a port of Max Payne 3 aswell.

With GTA IV I think PS4/PS5 ports would be a given, but I do wonder if it would get ported to the Switch? As I said above I was pleasantly surprised by how well RDR ran on the Switch so I think GTA IV would be fine.

Or maybe they might wait until the Switch 2 (or whatever it’s going to be called) and put GTA V on it too.

Switch will easily handle GTA IV, while GTA V is heavier game, and has expansive Online component with 11 years od DLC's, so V definitely belongs to Switch 2 at this point.

Anyway Switch 2 will be backwards compatible so they should just release GTA IV on PS4 and Switch first.

I would rather just have a vcs port, I’ve completed GTA IV so much times and there’s not much legitimate ways to play VCS.

LCS, VCS, IV and Chinatown Wars on pc, all 64 bit and with Directx 12 and Vulkan api support. Waiting for RDR 1 to get it too in an update. Deleted that game for now since I do use DXVK now at 2.5 with GTA IV and fusion fix.

If they ever do this port, Rockstar should think about an option to change the driving, just like in the Mafia games, because some people didn't like it so basically a win win scenario

(other than the weapon & radio wheel of course, maybe change the vegetation too and obviously the graphics a bit, oh and checkpoints i guess?)

After all, they've put a lot of different options you can adjust to your liking in GTA Trilogy DE, so it makes sense

So many will finally have a chance to play GTA IV that didn't, I think we can get an announcement for this next year or the one after, along with RDR2. It'd make sense they are next (if they have been in the works), and right along with the supposed release of GTA VI.

PS5/XS port and an update on PC that is needed as others mentioned. Though I hope the PC update isn't way later but it will probably be..

The roads mostly aside some areas are way too narrow and has too many cars, unlike the wide roads of GTA V. People will still hit cars and corners when driving still and think it's bad. This one thing that people seem to forget, it was the traffic density (how cars were moving)/map design that also made it seem that the driving is "so awful" aside from maybe their personal preference to past games. Maybe when turning that was a bit too heavy (you had to slow down kinda) but it's a small thing in my opinion. Can't be as an option.

Well, if such an update ever comes they will not touch the driving or anything to do with gameplay like that. Don't see any reason to. RDR had no changes as far as I saw people saying and that's the first port.

Yes they want to milk every dollar, euro, whatever currency b4 GTA VI release.

Don’t care, I want to be able to play GTAIV on my PS4/PS5 as well as Nintendo Switch users having access to it  too and so does a lot of other people.

No, there are a lot of non existing games on Instant Gaming. Half Life 3, for example, is listed here: https://www.instant-gaming.com/en/6694-buy-steam-half-life-3-pc-game-steam/

There are no rumors atm suggesting that a GTA IV remaster is coming anytime soon. The success of modern ports of RDR1 suggests that Double Eleven will eventually do something similar for GTA IV, but it's likely going to take a few years.

Alrighty.

Heh, it already exists on Xbox s/x, although I was disappointed that there is no such language as Russian, however, this port has problems, for example, some vagueness appears during the game, especially in the evening sunshine, and there is also a problem with climbing during the last messiah with the massacre of pegorino / Dimitri, you will not be able to climb on a helicopter playing from this console 100% the first time, however, you can do this, but you need to prepare your psyche for this because it will annoy you

I dont think so but given how they have taken down the mod of LC map for GTA 5, I think it may happen

I wouldn't be too surprised if we see this announcement at some point this year, to tie people over until GTA VI.

Double Eleven did an excellent job with RDR1 so them working on GTA IV seems like a no brainer. I'm desperate to have my favourite Grand Theft Auto entry on modern hardware.
