On PC who is better? GTA Trilogy DE or modified GTA OG

Original + mods all the way. TDE is convenient for sure, but that's really all its got going for it imo.

You get the added bonus of fleshing out your game with all the great content the community has made over the years if you take the time to mod the game properly.

I don't see so many graphical mods for GTA3 and VC, of course apart from the essential ones like Skygfx, I see that GTA SA has a better base of graphical mods, maybe that's why the DE versions of them do better, because to date I haven't seen a great graphical mod with so much care for GTA 3 AND VC

Because it doesn't really need one as much as SA does. With SA the entire environment got more and more broken with every port while with 3 and VC it stayed almost the same. 3 needs basically nothing and VC only needs skygfx and sharptrails to get a perfect enhanced vanilla experience.

As an addendum to this, I started a new GTA III playthrough on PCSX2 earlier this week, with the intent of earning RetroAchievements. It's way more in-depth than the PS2-on-PS4 version and the DE; I'd go as far to say R*'s official offerings pale in comparison, even if it's nice that trophies/achievements are earnable in the first place. There are a lot of missables (such as delivering a Flatbed or Bus to the Portland Import/Export Garage before unlocking Staunton); others require multiple runs of a certain mission (e.g. for "The Fuzz Ball", there are separate achievements for dropping off all 8 girls at the same time like in the DE and delivering each of them one at a time). It almost seems tailored towards people who are familiar with the original game, especially if you have any interest in going for everything. Right now I'm trying to complete all of Shoreside Vale's Unique Stunts using the same vehicle without exiting/destroying it (repairing it at the Pay 'N Spray is thankfully allowed); for those of you who know how fragile GTA III's vehicles are, and how easily they flip over, it's as brutal as it sounds. Some of them aren't worth bothering with, though. Completing Paramedic in Shoreside Vale? Yeah, no thanks. :sadkek:

Still, if the majority of III's achievements are anything to go by, then the rest of the PS2 games (yes, that includes LCS and VCS!) should be an interesting revisit. Don't sleep on emulating the PS2 versions if you're a fellow trophy hunter.

I just wanted to give a quick heads-up on the RetroAchievement front: the only version of VC PS2 that is supported at the moment is v3.00 (i.e. the "Haitian-Friendly" version). You're out of luck if you want Running with the Night on Flash FM, the tear gas pickup, uncensored mission dialogue, etc.. It's nitpick in the grand scheme of things, but it's still a bit disappointing.

Luckily, SA v1.03 does seem to have achievement support, at least from what little of it I've tested.

EDIT: As far as I can tell, there's no BS achievement for getting the Godfather criminal rating! :yee:

EDIT 2: Make sure you have USA copies of the PS2 games. For the PSP titles, only the European versions are supported. To see what is and isn’t compatible, click the “supported game files” button on a game’s RA page; also make sure that you’re on the right platform (I tested multiple USA revisions of LCS PSP in vain before realizing I was on the PS2 version’s page).

No "Take the Cannoli"-equivalent achievement in VC!

I took a look at all your thoughts and i can say that i liked the feature with color filter and more features from last update, but modders never died, og Gta 3, VC, SA will be updated mods, definitive edition also, but og (mean pc) is best version for mods, you know.
