GTA IV - Restored Cluckin' Bell in Northwood

Grand Theft Auto IV - Northwood Cluckin' Bell

This interior mod re-opens/reimplements the Cluckin' Bell that was closed down in Northwood, Algonquin.

Also reactivated is the ability to be served food at this location which was already present in the game code.

 

I've also implemented workers inside and outside the restaurant.

 

This is an updated version of the mod I released last year on GTAInside, now featuring a playing radio, updated scenarios and functional NPC navigation..

-Special thanks to my friend nabo45, who helped me with the Navmesh for this place!

 

*A working radio already existed in the audio metadata and simply had to be re-activated. By default, it was set to The Beat 102.7, which fits the area well*

 

 

This mod is for all patches including Complete Edition and the DLC.

It is untested on the old Standalone EFLC.

 

This mod has no effect on existing savefiles

 

 

There are three window options:

Version 1: This is the default, vanilla look. Same as the other Cluckin Bells.

 

Version 2: This is a semi-transparent option, and my personal preferred look.

 

Version 3: A version with signage deleted leaving only the glass.

 

 

INSTALL:

 

GTA IV Base Game: Put files from 'common' & 'pc' into the equivalent folders with Open IV.


GTA IV Complete Edition: Put files from common, pc, TBoGT & TLAD into the equivalent folders with Open IV.

 

 

'timecyclemodifiers.dat'- Leave this file if you have any graphics/timecycle mods and edit your own

one manually. -Explanation below. (This is very optional and not essential for the mod to work)


 

Spoiler

Go to pc\data\timecyclemodifiers.dat, find 'cluckinbell' and change the maxfarclip to 1500. It is the second entry after the timecycle name.


The new line would begin like this:

cluckinbell                        -1.0         1500.0

 

 

For any potential file conflicts, I've included a compatibility guide.

 

Uninstallation files also provided.

What is it like since it's an entirely different building, did you just replace the building with something that would fit the existing interiors or did you have to make one from scratch?

Well, I was just gonna rework the wall under the white canopy a bit to fit the interior, but ultimately I just took it out and replaced it with the wall from one of the other Cluckin bell locations. And instead of filling in that dark side window with brick, I ended up utilizing it as another spot for signage.

I don't know if that's the mod's problem but it gives me random crash everytime i went to subway station in star junction, I opened a new savegame after isntalled the mod

I think it's highly unlikely to be this mod as none of the files touch that part of the map

The FF version uses the default/non-transparent exterior. If you want the other window types, please pick from the Window Alternatives folder, drop the file 10_backs03_mh5.wdr into NWCluckinBell.img

Then put the file indust_1.ide into update>pc>data>maps>interiors>generic

If you have More Visible Interiors then skip indust_1.ide

I started another version of this mod once, and was never really sure whether I'd finish it up or if it would remain as just a concept. It's an abandoned/overrun edition of Northwood Cluckin' Bell.

 

The idea was to keep this place closer to vanilla, in that it is still a closed-down location, but has an interior and one that is enterable. Street thugs have broken in and use it as a hangout, and homeless have taken shelter there too. All the while the city is doing nothing about it.

 

If there's interest, I may do more work on it and release someday. Obviously a lot to be done still in the way of lighting and vertex colors et cetera

Surely it will be very interesting! The idea is just great! 🙂

I prefer this Cluckin' Bell to remain closed in this area, but this new interpretation of yours is very much in harmony with the gaming atmosphere, I think.

It's cool that there's almost no light in the eatery. I'm sure there will be more trash, boxes, overturned tables, and all that stuff...

What about that someone managed to drag a street wreck in there?.. tho it may be too much  😲.  Anyway,  it'll be an excellent mod!

Thank you very much. Your feedback is much appreciated. Glad you like the concept. I'll have to complete this at some stage. And good suggestions, plenty of things to consider like adding trash everywhere and such

This is actually a pretty unique take on it, sure it'd be nice to have another Cluckin' Bell, but to have the closed down derelict one have an interior too adds more to the variety. For a concept it's pretty cool, obviously more things would have to be removed (such as the tills, etc) and I'd maybe suggest just having it accessible from the side door too.

Thanks Ash. Good to have more feedback. I haven't quite decided how long (lore-wise) I want this place to have been overrun for, which will influence how much I trash the place. As for the side door I'll probably make it sort of ajar or partially busted down rather than just being a normal dynamic one.

scenarios2.ipl is causing my game (TBoGT) to crash when i try to merge it with the potential grim's scenarios2.ipl. it happens on both cluckin' bell interior mods. even if i don't use the scenarios2.ipl from potential grim, when i try to merge both of your Cluckin' Bell scenarios2.ipl files it gives me an "Unrecoverable fault" error message everytime i quit TBoGT.
