Underrated lines in GTA

Recommended Posts

Thread for some of the more hidden gem one liners and dialogue in the series. Other than the typical ones we all know.

"Ah sh*t! All I have in my rear view is bad guys!" - Big Smoke in Reuniting the Families, San Andreas

"Yeah, between them chopping us up, and feeding us to their dogs, I'm sure they'll be very understanding." - Vic, Brawn of the Dead, VCS

"Run, but don't come running after me. My ass'll be up on a tree in Haiti." - Lance, Mugshot Longshot, VCS

"Just like your momma paid your daddy for sex!"

"Skank bitch wouldn't even give her own brother a freebie!"

- the bent cops in Angels In America, TLAD

Mori talking to Luis about his time in the military during the drive in Kibbutz Number One:

"Special Forces don't even begin to describe my sh*t."

"Special sounds about right to me..."

Cracks me up every time.

They've got some really funny back and forth, Mori may be an asshole but he's a funny one.

Mori: "I am the S-H-I-T, bitch!"

Luis: "Yeah, you sh*t alright."

Mori: "Are you Alpha, or Omega? You think you can handle it?"

Luis: "I f*cking hate you, bro, you tiny orange turd."

"You see? What did I tell you, Lopez? Overexposed like a stripper in Fleet Week."

"He's a bit like you and Big Tone actually. Hey, you guys should start a debtors anonymous circle jerk together. Yeah you could sit around crying and hugging and talking about how you lost it all."

Brucie: "Awesome that we can hang like this. f*cking crazy, right? Three mad cats on the prowl for some autos. Scoping some joints. Scoping some bitches. About to do untold damage to this motherf*cker! That is how we roll!"

Mori: "What did you just say?"

Brucie: "I said, 'this is how we roll.' Yeah! Suck it up, bitches!"

Mori: "What does that even mean? 'This is how we roll.' I certainly don't roll with a flabby little bitch like you."

"This an antique?"

"Yeah? Well Emmet ain't the Pentagon!"

- Reuniting the Families (SA)

"I ain't got your looks Luis. I ain't got your brains. But I got my gun, my balls, and Armando."

- Henrique, TBOGT

"He's been trying to help the streets his whole life, looks like he'll actually be doing it now."

- Niko, Have A Heart

"Look, we can do business, or go to war, it's your call."

"In this country, they seem to mean the same thing, you stupid pieces of sh*t!"

- This Sh*t's Cursed, TLAD

"We're just talking, not having casual sex, Patrick."

"Well one makes you feel lonely and moody and all alone, and the other's casual sex!"

- Kate and Packie

"The British they give you this beautiful, if a little awkward language, and you Americans have to debase it with 'whatever' or 'like' or 'f*ck you' or 'get over yourself'."

"In that case, 'f*ck you'."

- Arnaud and Luis

I've always loved the opening cutscene from payback.

"Is Mr. Pegorino around?"

"Uhhh sure I'll I'll get him, bosssss!"

"Anthony will you shut up!, in fact will ya f*ck off!? Don't come back til ya get a brain implant or somethin' "

" The war taught me a lot of bad things, but it also taught me to enjoy life" Niko Bellic doing one of the friend outings with Kate McReary

I have a personal reason why that's my favorite serious quote of the whole GTA series. As I said before that I would quit playing GTA in my first three months of playing the game series, if that quote wasn't in the game.  Because of a deep conversation that Kate had with Niko, doing one of the friend outings.  They were taking about Niko's experience with the war, He said " The war taught me a lot of bad things, but it also taught me to enjoy life" I almost quit playing the game series, because I was getting tired of the violence and how the older GTAs treated woman. But that one quote keeps me playing GTA that day and ever since.

She's great and a genuinely good girl.

I'm an asshole though and take her to burger shot and then "try my luck" upon taking her home

He's funny up to a certain extent, and then promptly overstayed his welcome. Didn't have much chemistry with Luis neither.

Vlad and Niko, on the other hand, endlessly quotable.

"You poor wretches... You should have found a better way to live." is a line Niko says randomly when you kill every "enemy" in the area provided the final kill wasn't a headshot, he says it to mobsters or gangsters during missions, and even the cops during when freeroaming.

Mike Riley: "Wow, that sounds great Brandon. I don't know if it's just me but you've been acting in a movie it seems like, what, every- every three month?"

Brandon Roberts: "Yeah! Yeah, yeah and you know what? Being an actor it's really hard!"

Mike Riley: "Oh yeah."

Brandon Roberts: "Yeah, you know. I've got to say somebody else's words and then go sit in a trailer."

Mike Riley: "Hm."

Brandon Roberts: "You know, people don't realize the stress of Vinewood relationships. Working long hours for sometimes a week straight. You know, the pressure of getting paid 20 million dollars to read lines written by someone who makes a few hundred dollars. Sleeping with a lot of women. It's tough! I- I mean, I know I'm fortunate and, and I'm also humble. I really am. It's complicated, it's difficult to wrap your brain around. It's kind of like one of those Chinese symbols but you know, some days I get hand release while doing Tai chi on the beach and the next day I wear glasses and talk about suffering. I- I'm not gay by the way."

From Intelligent Agenda on PLR, such a hilarious station.

Idk why, but CJ's "Welcome to America" line after aiming a gun at someone and his "What kind of license you got? A fishing license?" always crack me up. I also like Franklin's "sh*t, motherf*ckers be lucky to sit in a bath tub"

While he's pretty well known for his serious dialogue, I just love how much of a smartass Niko can be.

One of my favorites: Randomly point a gun at a pedestrian and one of the possible lines is genuinely offended sounding "Excuse me?"

As for the older games: Toni's "What? Maaa!" when she calls a hit on him but his tone is like she just showed his girlfriend his baby pictures.

"Most wives are killed by their husbands."

"Yes. And my wife had better stop sleeping with that tennis coach, or... I'm joking."

"I am sure your wife doesn't need to sleep around. Oh, I'm joking... I'm sure she does."

"Funny. I'm divorced. My wife can sleep with whoever she wants."

"Interesting..."

"I'm not divorced. I was never married. No details."

I love that exchange between Niko and ULP.
