Is the time release same for all storefronts? Steam, EGS & RGL?

Yes, 2 PM UK on all stores. I do wish that R* had a timezone map like some other devs tbh but oh well :p Would avoid a lot of these (rightful) questions.

This topic will probably be closed tomorrow, it was good to talk to you guys, since May I have been indirectly following the updates about RDR1, this experience was very good until the announcement of this beloved game

It's 3 PM UK time. I already explained  that Steam counter always says "less than 1 hour" for the estimated time it points to.

It's 2 PM. Clocks went back.

It doesn't matter about the clocks. Because I can see the time for unlock on Steam says 1 day and 2 hours.

But once it hits 2 PM torrowow (UK time) it will say unlocks in less than 1 hour, it's like that for all the games for like 10+ years.

So it will end up being bootable at 3 PM UK time, 4 PM CET time.

Yes it does, because the US's clocks haven't gone back yet, so the difference between NYC and the UK is 4 hours instead of 5 and the US controls Rockstar launches. Unless it's changed, the last time I checked it was 2 PM, the Epic store even reveals it more clearly:

It most likely won't be releasing on the Epic Store first by some miracle, so...

What US clocks have to do with anything? The unlock time is for your local time zone.

Incorrect, it's a global launch time every time for Steam games. It does not unlock at 2 PM in Poland and 2 PM in the US, it will be 2 PM in the UK, 3 PM in Poland, 10AM in NYC.

I know lol... so what does that have to do with anything?

Steam tells me 1 day and 2 hours... and Steam games always need one more hour over estimate release time... once again "unlocks in less than 1 hour...

Because that's literally not what you said 😭 Well, see you tomorrow at 2 PM UK time (3 PM CET) lol

When I said unlocks in 1 day and 2 hours it was CLEARLY not midnight release... so Yeah I know it's the same time for everywhere on Earth... duh...

I'm just saying based on what Steam tells me it will be 3 PM UK time (always says unlocks in less than 1 hour). Let's wait and see who's right...

I doubt it'll launch on the Epic Store first so the proof is right there (14:00:00Z) :p If only R* would release a proper article with the times, all of this would be moot.

The clocks going back does matter and always has, Rockstar sometimes launch things at 10 AM New York time which this week will be 2 PM UK. For example, all Newswires this week will be posted at 2 PM UK instead of 3 because of the timezone change. The US does not stop having Daylight Savings until the following week, which is when everything goes back to "normal".

You're not making any sense because you started out by claiming it'd launch at 3 PM UK, which I contested because the clocks changed, and now you're going on about midnight launches and contradicting yourself so 🤷‍♂️

Many games on Steam used to release at 5 PM CET before time change (for example GOW Ragnarok) now they will end up releasing on 4 PM CET (3 PM UK time) until USA changes clocks back next week. I'm pretty sure, but we'll see tomorrow :)

But that depends on the developer. GoW Ragnarok released at 5 PM CET (4 PM UK) because Sony games always launch at that time. It's not a global time for all developers, and according to the Epic Store, Rockstar are choosing to launch at 10 AM NYC which will be 2 PM UK, says it right there in the Inspect Element output of the store page :sadkek:

I was saying 3 PM UK time from the start. You assumed I was talking about as if launch time is not GLOBAL :kekw:

Yes which is not the time at which RDR will launch, the entire point of my first response to you...?

We'll see. I was also right about pre-loads on games smaller than 20 GB (being a recommendation, not requirement)

"oOoo I was right about this too" Why is everything supposed to be a "gotcha", what is up with some of you :kekw:

As me and others (edit: meaning even online when you search) who have been around for tens of AAA launches showed, it is the exception, not the rule. Same way Rockstar was granted a very rare midnight launch for GTA V in 2015 which basically never ever happens now.

Just as an FYI, it's 13:00 here now. At 12:59 this said "1 day and 2 hours" (just like the screenshots above) because Steam doesn't round the time (it says the same between 12:00 and 12:59) and it also doesn't show "1 hour", so now it only says "approximately 1 day".

1 day and 2 hours from 12:00 is 14:00. The game will launch on Steam tomorrow 19th at 14:00 GMT (aka UK time).

Bruh we waited 14 to 15 years for this and now we're concerned about a few hours difference :kekw:

It unlocks when it unlocks, which in this case is about a day from now, and we'll be eating good. That's all we need to know.

Indeed, it's just that being confidently wrong, then tangling yourself in excuses or misunderstandings doesn't help anyone either :lmaokek:

Anyway yes, tomorrow by this time we'll be counting down :sadkek: Tomorrow is a hell of a day for me because there's two games I wanna play coming out, RDR included lmao.

Yup, so it will be 15:00 for you, as it's +1h from the UK.

Again, if only R* had just launched a proper timezone calendar or one time in their announcement. :lmaokek:

Don’t you know that you have to start playing the exact second it unlocks? Otherwise, how are small streamers on Twitch/YouTube/Facebook supposed to compete with the big ones to grab the attention of  a few viewers and grow up on those platform?

New game = new opportunity to grow!

I worked on a timezone map for release, if this helps. :D

If you want to keep PM over hour 12:00, then it needs to say 03:00 PM Paris not 15:00 PM.

I found your picture on the vocabulary at the definition of 'pedantic'.

Just kidding.

The map is nice, but as someone who uses 24 hour clock system you can clearly see something's wrong :kekw:

Might also do 15:00 and (3 PM) next to it for those who use 12 Hour clock system.
