Same for me lol, working better than Yuzu and Xenia is what I need.

Edit:

Just the ability to use a mouse and keyboard kills the emulation, even if it's not well optimized like the Definitive Edition.

Actually Definitive Edition based on AMD GPU had higher minimal system requirements, because R9 280 is about 2x better than R7 360 or even more, also Definitive Edtion had i5 6600 as minimal, RDR have i5 4670, so it should be optimized better, and maybe like some people said minimal system requirements are for 1080p30/60 Normal settings(PS4 like) and recommended are for 4K60 High, but still we will se in 2 days, it should work a lot better than Yuzu/Suyu/Xenia or any other emulation, and based on some files screenshots i saw d11 folder which maybe means DirectX11 support

d11 means Double Eleven lol

Those are .rpf archives and they represent the platform the archives are tailored to / built for.

On Switch for example audio_d11generic.rpf is named audio_switch.rpf

strings_d11generic is named strings_switch etc

Not sure about PS4 but it's probably ps4.

Although this d11generic naming is very very weird imo.

Support for any extra APIs would be added later at this point if it's even in plans. It's probably a possibility but keep expectations in check.

I would personally put my bets on Vulkan support if it were to happen though. idk for some reason it just makes more sense, native Linux / Steam Deck support rather than supporting over 10 year old hardware which is what they'd go for with DX11.

Will be interesting to see how the difficulty -that's tied to the aiming assist-, will be handled with keyboard and mouse. I'm assuming they'll force free aim with mouse and keyboard? But that would mean the game will technically be on expert mode with slower regenerating health, by dev account: https://gamerant.com/rockstar-red-dead-redemption-questions/

The game is fairly easy either way though, and considering this is the GOTY version of the game, it does have on top of the aiming options, the "hardcore" level of difficulty. It would be interesting to see how are these settings adapted to keyboard and mouse, if adapted at all.

RDR2 didn’t force free aim with a mouse iirc. The snap to target though was actually really annoying as I found it difficult to adjust to a headshot, unlike the simple flick up with a control pad. Although I swear by M&K for GTA, I went back to a game pad for RDR 2, it felt much better for that game. I expect RDR to be the same.

Lol never knew they regenerated health slower on expert aiming.

Honestly it doesn't even make much sense to me at least, when there is a dedicated hardcore mode though...

Like why make an aiming option affect other things. Beyond me.

Wonder if they moved that to the Hardcore mode in GOTY. But probably not.

But IMO there is no way they won't make the assisting toggleable tbh...

They should 100% also make free aiming default on kbm, otherwise they're weird.

Maybe even separating keyboard and mouse controls into their own sub menu, which they probably did.

It should work exactly the same as every other Rockstar game that had snap-to-target aim on console. You just free aim and get easy headshots on PC.

Personally, I'll be going for all kinds of body & limb shots, just because the version of Euphoria RDR uses is so fun to mess around with. The Max Payne 3 headshot urge is so hard to shake off though. :lmaokek:

I'm pretty sure it did.

I distinctly remember doing “Enter Pursued by a Memory” holding down the right mouse button and the reticule snapping to the wrong wolf and locking on it so I couldn’t move off it easily which a) I didn’t expect it to snap at all and b) was super annoying as the one I was wanting to aiming at bit me, costing the gold medal.

That was the first PC version on launch, not sure if it’s been altered by patches since.

Only 50 hours left (I think)

Get ready boys and girls!

Also I hope Digital Foundry has a video ready day before release (like they did with RDR2)

I'm so excited! I literally had a dream about it last night haha

That's actually a really good point. Hopefully Digital Foundry will have a video out like you said. Though not sure if I'll watch it as I want to experience everything for myself.

I guess one of these packages is a censored version?image.png.e2ba6d751fb3dc8322729179748d918d.png

Yeah, it should be the bottom one. That package was added for Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, where the game is censored. I'm not sure about folks in Russia in Belarus, but that may or may not be related to sanctions? Or, if it's anything like Sony's games, there will be RU/CIS keys available post-launch.

Native mouse and keyboard has already been achieved on Xenia/Ryujinx as I have pointed out in the thread earlier

Yeah but nothing beats actual full fledged PC game.

1 day and 15 hours. Man, that's like 3 PM on a Tuesday. Whatever happened to midnight or 1 AM releases? :sadkek:

Just to make it more clear on release time, as mentioned before, and as per the Steam countdown, it'll be released at 2pm GMT, so w/e that is in your respective timezone.

Nice decent little week ahead for game releases, Red Dead, and the new Dragon Age at the end of the week, along with the five day MH beta ;)

I don't really think It's ever been made clear as to why, although I'd imagine something along the lines of coinciding with the Steam store updates, dunno.

Yeah, that's what I originally assumed as well. It used to be slightly later in the day for me, around 7 or 6 PM CET (when the store reset usually was). But now it feels pretty random & seems to vary by game/publisher. Not a big deal, just a little confusing 'cause I feel like local midnight releases are so much more satisfying.

Oh I was wondering why it had that error/unscheduled download.. Thought was an issue from my side.

Managed to buy it with all the steam inventory items I sold the entire month:kekw:

Oh yeah, nah, that's just some regular old Steam jank. Every pre-load I've ever downloaded in the past few years has behaved very similarly. I think the files end up getting auto-updated as the depot changes, so it's always "on stand-by" to DL more in case it's necessary. That's my code-illiterate interpretation of it, at least.

I got a lot of work to do for tomorrow, but I’ll try to finish all of it until game’s release to be able to play hours and hours straight.

I’ll have to break my rule of “Do not put off for tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow”

Just remember Steam time is never accurate. On 3 PM it will say "available in less than an hour"

it's actually going to release at 4 PM (16:00) Central European Time, and 3 PM (15:00) in the UK.

Is the time release same for all storefronts? Steam, EGS & RGL?

I see no reason why not. It's always the same for other games on PC.

So yeah 28 hours left!
