If there is MP stuff in the Switch version I see no reason to delete it for PC. Storage isn't an issue and it would require effort to remove. Leaving it adds the benefit of allowing modders to restore MP functionality in some way.

Thats my hope. Maybe some kind of private servers or RP stuff like we know from RDR2 or GTA5.

It was always a recommendation...

Sure, doesn't remove the fact that most other big publishers don't seem to be able to have preloads for smaller games, even at 19 GB. Obviously, this could be their publishing departments just not negotiating with Valve but...

Does it even matter at this point? Preload is up and in a matter of hours everyone will be playing!

Damn, bro's time travelled to Oct 29 :kekw:

Guys do you think Double Eleven is now working on a GTA 4 port for PS4 and Switch? I'd assume they would move to that next after RDR for Switch, PS4 and PC.

R* would be foolish not to have them tackle GTA IV next. I hope that they and T2 are taking notice of the positive reception to D11’s work on RDR1 and is willing to broaden the scope a little bit. Hopefully there will be enough improvements/bug-fixes/etc. to justify a rerelease on all platforms this time around. It would be frustrating (but sadly on-brand) if R* released new IV ports exclusively on PlayStation and Switch, while leaving Xbox and PC users with backwards compatibility (that literally has a game-breaking bug on any console newer than the One S) and a rushed, horrendously-optimized port respectively.

gta 4 is still stuck on 720p on consoles

I'm positive that a re release is bound to happen sooner or later

and maybe if we lucky a patch for the pc version

Which I have the physical versions of, so how?

Physical versions, which means they use only rockstar launcher? Social club (now called rockstar launcher) runs in the background. If you bought the game on steam, you open steam first launch the game from there and it automatically opens the rockstar launcher and the game. You can sign in automatically.

Also with other game launchers like EA and Ubisoft Connect, they all work same way. You use steam and the game's launcher whatever it might be.

If you bought the game only on social club/RGL (rockstar site) there's no way to connect it to steam. You bought it there, not steam, so you don't need steam.

Has anyone seen in the files if it requires AVX2? or FMA3??

again...if it supports a FX processor, it will NOT require AVX2

Rockstar is seemingly pushing for Steam Deck verified, as today the RGL received exclusive Deck-only optimisations. Steam notes the launcher may have issues when installing Rockstar titles.

Noob questions:

Will this turn into a RDR modding community?

Will the game have a renaissance with FiveM-like servers?

Absolutely not. RDR2 modding is barely existing currently as it is. I wouldn't expect much in this aspect.

I could see it going either way really, considering RDR1 is substantially more accessible in terms of game size and spec requirements when compared to RDR2.
We can only see how the modding scene blooms after release.

The problem is the tools that need developing for it. Considerably unlikely it'll be an area of focus for the likes of Scripthook, Sollumz, or Codex. Nothing wrong with that of course, but that's why it's reasonable to assume there won't be much. MagicRDR might work with it right off the bat, though, and hopefully so. At least through that texture replacements can be done.

If this is structured identically to the console ports, then a lot could likely be done in regards to modding tools.
Consider the Switch version; before it received an update later on to remove it, the internal code had a lot of dev stuff related to code flags (Or something along those lines, I forget the terminology for it) intact.
So if the PC version is structured the same way, some cross-referencing could be done between the pre-patched Switch version and the current PC version. Something good could probably come out of it as a result.
Note: This is just a blind assumption, I'm not sure how this dev/code stuff works exactly.

I know some of ya’ll are going to play Liar’s Dice for hours… the mini games are addicting outside the story and other shenanigans

Nothing like playing Poker in Armadillo with a thunderstorm approaching and hearing the rain hit the roof and thunder roar along with the one liners from the guys you play against
