FWIW, here's Ghost of Tsushima PC sys reqs, a 2020 PS4 game:

In any case, Steam day 1 means you can utilise Steam's very easy to use refund service if it doesn't run well for you.

In all honesty, these are very modest system requirements. High is what my current system is on and that's not even modest (from top) spec sheet of 2024 standards. RX6800 was available for dirt cheap during these Amazon sales. A lot of people have picked them up, else not 3070 is very easily available in used market for good prices.

Maybe if the launch sales on PC are low to Take-Two.

There is absolutely no way the launch sales are gonna be low. The trailer has nearly reached 1M views and it got more likes than dislikes. Just wait and see, in one week it's gonna be in Steam's top selling leaderboards. The most realistic time for a sale is during Spring Sale and it will probably be 25% off

Also here's a fake I did back when the game released on PS4 last year. I even posted on the other thread lmao. I got the month right at least lmao

You should check the Steam forums, it's a mess there. Also didn't PS4 and Switch version sell pretty low for a R* game?

I'm in there too contributing to the mess ig lmao. I dont rly care about the price or if it sells or not, the game is here, it's gonna release, it aint going anywhere and Rockstar aint gonna unrelease it or something. I got all I wanted already

What do you mean "unrelease" nobody even said anything like that could happen.

Β

I'm just saying sales will be relatively low for a R* game. PC gamers waited 14 years, they will wait some longer for sale, or resort to other means...

Edited by Yoona

what a mess. 70 bucks is damn near triple A release pricing ($80-90 CAD)

considering i already played the entire game on a nintendo switch emulator and it runs at a locked 60fps (legal copy) i wont touch this, even a 50% off sale is higher than i would like to pay. its a shame because mouse and keyboard support sounds great and steam achievements are cool but not worth 70 bucks

Surprised china is the cheapest aswell, usually its Brasil and russia being the cheapest by far... and speaking of russia are they still doing the sanctions? why isnt the ruble here?

What I meant is idc if ppl will buy the game or not. The port exists and that's all I wanted

I doubt the game at this price will peak on Steam above 30K concurrent players in the first week.

GOW Ragnarok peaked at 35K I guess even with the abusive price (full release price for a 2 years old game) and PSN bs. Average Joe doesnt care about that.

Man see game, man want game, man can afford game, man buy game

False. Ragnarok was $60/60€ on PC while it was $70 and even more in Europe - 80€ on PS5 in 2022. Also $60 for a 2 year old game is less outragous than $50 for 14 year old game.

Β

Anyway buy whatever you want, I'm just dissapointed in the price, because I already paid the same price one year ago on PS4.

The price is a bit to high for me to purchase it on release, 599nkr here in Norway.

Β

Its a 100% single-player game and it is not going anywhere or going to look better on PC from Rockstars side at least so I think I will play something else for a while.

Might even give RDR2 another go after I have played RE:Village.

I never bought the game so there's that

Also, did you guys notice how nothing from the leaks was used in the marketing? The first leak from May, the PSN leak, nothing was used. There wasnt even mention of spatial sounds.... I think the leaks were proposital...

That PSN description that leaked is now on the RGL store page at least. So spatial surround sound support will probably still make it:

Really curious what they meant by "and more" though. The classic "and more" which is nothing or actually something this time? bruh, we'll see.

That's still well over two times less than GOW 2018 peaked at in 2022 (73k players). I think full price for a 2 year wait is pretty acceptable. I mean, GTA V's PC version took about as long as Ragnarok did, and we were fine with that way back when.

Β

For reference, GOW 2018 was 50 euros for me back in January 2022, which was almost a full 4 years after the original release (give or take a few months). 10 euros extra with minus 2 years of wait for Ragnarok feels reasonable. What definitely isn't reasonable is the PSN region locking, but I've harped on about that enough, lmfao.Β

Β

Β

at best I'd pay 25-30 bucks for it, but wtf is this price... honestly with this I wouldn't blame people if they get the game from unsavoury sources

The price is bad, I know that, I'm still gonna buy it because I never bought the game before and it is a rly special game to me. But even when I used to play on Xbox I kept wondering why tf this game is still 30€ over there while Bully is 10€ iirc... Zero sense

Probably because it was made "Xbox One X Enhanced" a lifetime ago. Maybe not. Otherwise it doesn't really make sense?

Generally when it comes to their BC games, as far as I can tell, their more popular or bigger titles such as GTAIV, Max Payne 3 are 20 bucks and the smaller ones like Bully, Red Dead Revolver, MCLA or Manhunt are 15.

This being 30 and certain DLC being EXTRA on top of that (Undead being 5 or 10 bucks and the golden guns etc being 0.50 i think each) well... I can only think that when the game was made BC back in 2016 or so it was 20 bucks like the other ones, but when it was made Xbox One X Enhanced it was made 30. Not sure. 10 bucks for a higher res toggle in an emulator sounds absurd though and even more out of sense tbh. It's just a lame theory I've had, but it's probably some good food for thought.

Wonder if they will accidently leak stuff like in GTA DE? Or if there was anything leaked people would have found stuff in the switch/ ps re release?

They leaked debug symbols afaik for the Switch release day one, some small dev files etc.

Nothing really major, apart from the debug symbols part, but no one really did mess with them as far as I can tell and therefore they had been useless for the most part I guess.

They removed them with a patch btw but I guess you can still get your hands on them pretty easily if you just don't patch the game. They're useless for people who don't code though.

Β

As for the PC port, remains to be seen, maybe they won't leak much this time because they only worked upon the latest revision of the source code I assume.

NightmanCometh96

Yeah, the price is disappointing (especially internationally), but not at all surprising. I was hoping for E&E PC to cost $10/20 (the discounted price at launch for PS5/Series X|S respectively) if it wasn't a free upgrade, but now I'm expecting R* to charge the full $40 without any sort of upgrade path for existing owners.

Β

As for RDR1, for anyone in the US, GreenManGaming currently has it up.Β With the promo code OCT15 you can bring the price down to $42.19 + tax; it's not that much lower than the "commercially accurate" $50, but it's still a discount. Sadly it's the Epic version. As a Steam Deck owner, that's a massive dealbreaker. I'll probably wait for Digital Foundry's analysis to see if I grab the game at launch. Hopefully they get a review copy like they did with the console versions.

The game was $30 even before the One X update. One X Enhancements were made by Microsoft themselves, not the actual developers

Β

While the RDR1 Steam Hub fights themselves, the Assassin's Creed Mirage Hub are actually becoming sane (and kinda wholesome) and are getting together demanding Ubisoft to fix some stuff and add achievements to older games. Never saw a Steam Discussions Hub so united like that

50? Are you high r*??????Β

Β

It's more than what it was on retail back in ps3m I remember paying $40 for this. It's a 14 year old game not a remake nor a remaster it's a port.Β Β

Β

We aren't made of money smh especially in this economy.Β

Β

No thanks pirate flag it for me or wait for a winter sale.Β

lol, "wholesome" there's literally another thread in there with some racist bullsh*t in it, but I guess that's the kind of thing they will be united behind, the Steam Forums are an absolute trash heap

Recently, I started to block certain ppl from the Steam discussion forums and you won't believe how often I see a blocked user in forums of newer games. It is probably mostly the same people arguing there.
