True Modern Men on the Edge of Death?!

Do you believe that any of these exist inside our modern world, inside the United States?

 

 When we think deeply about the GTA protagonists, what we have to realize is that these are some eccentric men. They wear goofy outfits on occasion, but they are extraordinarily intelligent, competent, confident, lucky, skilled, and sociopathic, and they are DEEPLY evil all of them no matter how relatable and sympathetic they may seem to be. 
 

These guys lead lives laying on the edge of death, with no true home to call their own, they live outside the law with all its bonuses and minuses, which stinks. 
 

these are male men who will kill for cash, and fight the law, every day for a living they gamble with their life as they not only regularly risk their lives but their freedom as well. They habitually take part in hobbies that are certain to lead them either to their doom, or to their permanent imprisonment. 
 

now unless the FBI or CIA or NSA is covering up their tracks like they do in the games, we know there aren’t any known cases in modern America of grownups winning gunfights versus cops and fleeing never to be seen or stopped, but do you think that there exist in modern day America any criminals who are not in gangs, but are deeply intelligent and skilled, wear cool clothes and listen to cool music, extraordinary skilled at driving and shooting, who seem like normal well rounded people, who get into occasional gunfights or car chases, who occasionally kill, sort of like the human protagonists we encounter in the GTA series, or even in the motion pictures like drive or like heat?

This is like asking the question "who is the best bank robber" or "who is the best getaway driver" and expecting an answer that isn't "the one that doesn't get caught"

 

If you wanna really think about it, we only know about the criminals that get caught. And none of the GTA protagonists really get caught, so.....

Oh yeah I’m not asking WHO here, I’m only asking IF. Do you the readers BELIEVE that such men even exist in our world or our realm of real life where we live.

Ehhh maybe? I highly doubt it. The only type of individual that might fit what you describe would be some kind of billionaire with enough money and connections to keep their identity a secret and get away with their crimes, but even that is pushing it. I just can't see anyone getting into occasional gunfights and car chases without their name being plastered all over the news following their incarceration or death, especially nowadays when everyone has a phone with a camera in their pocket.

No they don't. Niko and Michael did get this kind of help from government agencies but all the other protagonists didn't, even U.L. Paper tells Niko he's alone once he got hold of Darko for him. And even then, there's only so much these agencies can do to cover all of their crimes.

Or you can treat the games as the form of escapism they are and not dwell too much on them philosophically, as they were intended.

 

Not everything has to be convoluted to fit a narrative. Just have fun stealing cars, tuning to stations and shooting people
