Which are the best songs from GTA III's Lips 106 station of each pair?

That's right! Something I've always wanted to do!

 

Grand Theft Auto in it's early days used a ton of original music! GTA 1 was all original music! GTA 2 was mostly original music with a couple of cheap indie songs tossed in since London blew the original music budget! 3 and LCS had two full stations!

Then it kinda went away.

 

But which are the best of the best? We'll be finding that out over the coming weeks! No need to have played the game, just listen and report! Each game will get their best picked(Best of Lips and Head for III and LCS, 2 best overall for 1, 3 best overall for 2, and a single song from every other game with a handful) before a finale to pick the king!

 

We're starting with 3's Lips 106, mostly because it's the most popular game of the main 4 and I want to start off with a bang. Pick your favorite in each pair. The Top 3 will move on. BE SURE TO LISTEN TO THE SONGS  ONCE THROUGH FIRST!

(I wish I could make the poll show up below the post, I want people to actually judge off the music proper)

(Also if it looks like a song is missing, no repeats. This means GTA 2's multi-station songs only get one chance, GTA Advance is out, and in this case, no Joyride/Grand Theft Auto. That'll be competing alongside the likes of Complications and The Ballad of Chapped Lips Calhoun as a GTA 1 song)

We're at 7 votes. Given how low the knowledge ceiling is here(literally just give a quick listen and vote, dont' need to be a III expert) and how broad the subject is I'm shocked, SHOCKED at the low votes.

Mods you know anything about this, ever done Polls before? How do I get more engagment?

Like there’s 1800 people online at this very moment. Some are probably bots, but a ton more just aren’t online at this exact second. There should be tens of thousands of weekly visitors. Yet I can only get 13 people to vote on this pill.

I think it'd be better just to let people pick which one song from X station is their favorite and leave it at that. I don't like having to waste two votes on songs I don't really care about just so I can vote for FOREVER

Like fine this round didn’t go great, I can live with that but I need to know or it’ll happen again

Well, to ask some specifics. How should the title be formatted? Should I say series whole, game, station?

That matters because my original plan was to bounce between everything. This was only the first bracket of R1 to pick a Top 3 or Top 4 for Lips106 in GTA 3. Next up I was going to do either First Round for Head Radio(the OTHER GTA 3 station with original music) or go to LCS and do it's Lips106 First Round. Then the vice versa until we've narrowed it down for all of them. (Both in III have 7, which would be akward for this format...but Joyride is disqualified as it will show up in GTA 1's and I might just automatically move Stripe Summer to Round 2 for Head as it's so iconic and famous and has the 'first song on the radio' spot).

 

Then I'd either do Round 2's for each of those, followed by Final Rounds between the Top 2/Top 3 for best song of the station...or maybe I'd save 2? Or I'd go do GTA 1 and GTA2 or Vice City or something. Then when all is said and done the best of the best from each game(So best Lips 106 and Head Radio each get one from 3 and one from LCS, VC probably gets one song, GTA 1 gets two total, GTA 2 might get 3 as I think it has the most original music total of any game in the series). and put them in a tournament against his eachother for a couple rounds til only one remains. So probably like 15-20 more rounds to go.

I have already said, I genuinely feel like these forums are dead, and it doesn't help that the mods split the DE and Classic sections. I think getting 28 votes is actualy an achievement these days.

 

Personally, If the first word in the topic titles was VOTE or POLL, I'd be more inclined to click on it, although with GTA 3 and SA I click on pretty much every new topic, because there are so few. I would also prefer multiple rounds, 1 set of multiple votes for each station, then a semi-final between two, picking 1 song from each game in the end - same as you wanted it, I think. No clue if it'll get the momentum though with an almost complete lack of participating users on these forums :(
