Weekly Event (2nd May 2024) - Take to the Track with Open Wheel and RC Bandito Race Bonuses, Deliver Customers for Quadruple, and More!

Spider-Vice

Recommended Posts

Spider-Vice

This week and until 8th May, it's time to put on your helmet and racing suit, and bring out your Formula 1-esque vehicles (or remote controlled lil' cars!) to take to the track in a racing-focused week! Find bonuses on Open Wheel Races and RC Bandito Races, rewards for being the best at the aerodynamic (watch your corners!) racing sport or, if you'd prefer the "peaceful" life of delivering Los Santos citizens to their destinations, you can also do it for 4x the fun!

Remember this is just a preview, and information may change. On top of that, Rockstar may reserve things for their own Newswire.

We understand that not every Event Week will be to everyone's liking, some will certainly be more exciting than others, but anyway...

Let's get started!

Take to the Track in Open Wheel and RC Races, Race in Rockstar North's Own Racing Team's Outfit by Winning Big, and More

If the past few weeks of partying, sourcing or selling drugs, and filling your warehouses with the rarest objects of the ancient and modern world (and also more drugs) were getting to you, this week, a new outlet for your problems is drifting right into Los Santos at breakneck speed. It's time to take the tarp off your Open Wheel racing vehicles and perhaps take to some community or Rockstar created tracks for some training, as this week, Open Wheel racers all across Los Santos will be able to... well, perhaps break their necks at speed, with triple the cash and RP on Open Wheel Races.

And there's more to it! Channel your inner Ron Jakowski and put on the tinfoil hat as you may, in fact, be in a simulation! The creators of the simulation are said to have their own racing team, Viken Motorsport, and this week, by winning 3 times on Open Wheel Races, an outfit inspired by it can be all yours (more info in the Weekly Challenge section).

Within the "simulation", if Open Wheel racing isn't quite your thing, you can take it much smaller (again, size doesn't matter!) with RC Bandito Races, to race the tiny little remote controlled things that remind you of 1992, for 3x rewards.

  • 3x GTA$ and RP on Open Wheel Races
  • 3x GTA$ and RP on RC Bandito Races

For some, as they try and sleep, they might hear some mysterious screaming in the distance: "YELLOW CAAAAAAAAAAAAR!" which usually ends up in waking up in a panicked sweat. Legend has it that this all started in Liberty City after a few drinks with friends, and that it has made some people be attached to doing Taxi Work for some reason.

If this is you, and the name Roman Bellic means something to you other than him wanting to go bowling, this week, you can have 4x the fun delivering the oddest of customers all across Los Santos.

  • 4x GTA$ on Taxi Work

Discounts

This week, if you haven't gotten started with Open Wheel culture in Los Santos, now's your chance for 40% off. Alongside it, a very eclectic assortment of vehicles - ground, air, and water - are discounted this week, from the classics, to the modern ones.

At the Gun Van, find a military classic that Ammu-Nation touts as being... good for large groups. Yay, America!

For those who are members of Los Santos' VIP club GTA+, you'll get your additional typical Gun Van discount, one that'll probably make your friends jump in "excitement" whenever you aim it at them - it's noted in a Rockstar-like colour.

Until 8th May:

30% off

  • FH-1 Hunter
  • Sea Sparrow
  • Buckingham Maverick
  • Grotti Stinger
  • Übermacht SC1
  • Dundreary Landstalker XL
  • Übermacht Zion Classic
  • Shitzu Squalo
  • Bravado Banshee

40% off

  • Progen PR4
  • Declasse DR1
  • Ocelot R88

Gun Van:

  • 30% off: MG
  • 40% off: Up-n-Atomiser (available for everyone, discounted on GTA+)

Miscellaneous

Salvage Yard Vehicles & Robberies

Each week, Jamal and Yusuf Amir find some brand-new vehicles for you to source for your Chop Shop, and for Jamal to perhaps plaster all over Snapmatic and other social media. This week, check out the following propositions:

  • The Cargo Ship Robbery: Grotti Itali GTO Stinger TT
  • The Gangbanger Robbery: Vapid Dominator GTT
  • The McTony Robbery: Dinka Blista Kanjo

The Diamond Casino & Resort Lucky Wheel

This week, the Diamond Casino & Resort predicts yet another winning week, as racers group up to gamble all of their earnings (including the vehicles they so protect with their own lives), or, well, perhaps they go and gamble while they sulk after placing P29 in the latest Open Wheel race tournament. With what seems to be a bit of a break in shenanigans at the Casino, so Felipe can rest easier once more (hey, maybe let him try an Open Wheel vehicle? Maybe not a great idea!), they're capitalising on the racing celebration by bringing in - you guessed it - an Open Wheel vehicle on to the Lucky Wheel!

Perform any and all Luck-related rituals before spinning that wheel, for a higher chance to win a Benefactor BR8.

LS Car Meet Prize Ride

"Open wheel? What, you mean how big  the exhaust in this car is? Look at it roar!"

It's probably not wise to expect the LS Car Meet and all the tuner folks within to be huge fans of this week's racing celebration, but some are! After all, racing is racing, and vehicles that could be confused with birds because of how light they are and how fast they go are no exception to the rule, in fact, it might make it even more interesting!

Regardless, whoever was in charge of wheeling in the Prize Ride doesn't seem too excited about the concept, and instead seems to be focusing on Muscle (and vintage muscle!) car culture. Don't just gawk at the top of the Slamvan if that's your thing, as you'll need to place top 3 in the LS Car Meet Series, 3 days in a row, to win the Willard Eudora.

For testing and/or buying this week:

  • Grotti Stinger (also 30% off) (R)
  • Pegassi Infernus (R)
  • Albany Alpha (R)

You know who else doesn't discriminate? Hao! Hao just wants to feel the thrill of racing and speed in his hands, doesn't matter whether that's an electric, an open wheel vehicle, or hey, even an SUV, which is exactly what he's working on this week. Head on over to his desk, and shop, on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series, and test, upgrade or buy the Karin Vivanite HSW.

Premium Deluxe Motorsports

  • Übermacht SC1 (also 30% off) (R)
  • Dundreary Landstalker XL (also 30% off) (R)
  • Übermacht Zion Classic (also 30% off) (R)
  • Schyster Deviant (R)
  • Western Wolfsbane (R)

Luxury Autos (now bi-weekly, it appears)

  • Gallivanter Baller ST-D
  • Declasse Vigero ZX Convertible

Time Trials and Premium Races

This week across the state of San Andreas, find the following time trials and premium race.

  • Supers Premium Race: Cutting Coroners
  • Regular Time Trial: LSIA
  • HSW Time Trial: Del Perro Beach to Murietta Heights

Weekly Challenge

Starting with the Chop Shop DLC, citizens all across the state now don't only have a few daily objectives to perform, but also a weekly challenge, for a free GTA$100K and the Rockstar Racing Suit, directly inspired by Rockstar North's own official racing team!

  • Win 3 Open Wheel Races

4x GTA$ on Taxi Work

I'm a little disappointed they didn't do 5x like last time but hey, taxi work is taxi work. Can't wait to drown in all the money I make from tips this week.

L week. Not necessarily a bad thing though, as I could use a little break after an excellent month of making money.

I still remember when I tried Open Wheel stuff early last year: ten straight races with people driving like it's Arena Wars.

I'll stick to crew painting my rides and wandering on freeroam.

Benefactor BR8? I remember it was available at The Lucky Wheel Podium in November 2020. Hopefully, I won't miss out on it this time. :)

They really should have made at least 6 if not 7-8 Salvage robberies. The preps are very basic and easy to make with the newer mission creator, and the finales while a little bit more complex are far from being on tue level of a heist finale ala OG heists/DD/Casino/CPH..

I want to ask a question:

Can this week's weekly challenge be completed by singleplayer?

or it not counted when you play alone

usually single player means the story mode of the game.

if you mean online game but playing solo, so yes, you can do almost everything solo.

i don't see what so special in the weekly challenges that made you think otherwise.

complete 5 managment missions in your night club, it is usually solo missions in the lobby.

anyway, you don't need other players in the lobby for this challenge.

nm, i didn't realised that there is a new weekly challenge with different tasks.

so ye, need other players to race against for this one.

I'm planning to be more careful doing taxi work this time.

I rolled the taxi below in the desert.  And yes, there was a passenger in the back 😄

Ascendancy

Not a bad week for me after making $2.2 million from my Nightclub sale earlier in the day. Not sure if I'm in the minority but I do like it when Taxi work is on bonus.

I think races don't count when you play them alone.

They usually don't, you have to play against players.

And it's not just McTony, but it's the Blista Kanjo. This car... has quite the handling.

Either way, I'm kinda glad for this week. Perfect time for a break.

Really annoying they didn’t release the rockstar racing helmet too this week to complete the outfit.

We could see it as the next week's challenge reward since it didn't end up as a GTA+ reward.

so the whole outfit could be releasing these two weeks?

Luxury Autos is now disgusting bi-weekly change(since 7th March after the Cluckin' bell farm raid available), hope next week could not so bad as this week

Shiloh Comes

GTA+ free Entity MT is awesome. The Hao version is one of his worst, it's not a true hypercar it's something you take the roof off in the valet parking area outside Cafe de Paris in Monaco. The basic is much nicer to drive. Selling the Hao one can compensate me for Rockstar dropping my subscription for 24 hours and costing me a million in nightclub boost money. Nobs.

This month you can get two returning unique liveries:

1) Galaxy livery for Pegassi Oppressor

2) War Camo livery for Pegassi Toreador

Both of these vehicles are claimable in the Vinewood Club.

so for this week's weekly challenge. Mine didn't get auto-completed (PC).

I played with one friend to self-trade wins in the open wheel races to unlock it. We did two races, then went back to free-roam to check the status of the weekly challenge. Mine had increased by one, my friend's was marked as completed (without reward). My friend didn't check the status of his challenge before we started the races.

So we completed the winning three races each, my challenge did get completed and I got the reward and my friend... rewarded r* support with a new ticket.

Both of us had completed last week's challenge.
