Natural Interior Lighting

by @Calm

+Compatible with every possible version of GTA IV and EFLC!

About:

Spoiler

IV gives each building interior a unique atmosphere with timecycle modifiers, but they affect the whole map, make outdoor scenery look bad and hide special graphical effects.
Natural Interior Lighting gets rid of ALL timecycle modifiers and makes the game use the default weather settings in all interiors.

Features:

Spoiler

- Fixed outdoor scenery looking excessively brighter or darker when viewed from the inside of an interior.
- Enabled real-time shadow rendering INSIDE the interiors. R* set up all timecycle modifiers to not allow that for some reason...
- Improved performance in interiors now that some of the needless, excessive timecycle effects are gone - but this is GTA IV so your mileage may vary.
- Atmosphere, colors and lighting in interiors are all now balanced through rendering shadows in interiors instead. Enable shadows in your graphics settings for better visuals.

So basically it's now some sort of a CleanIV but for interiors...

Anyways, DayL's kinda edits all modifiers so you'd have to either choose or make compat edits for these two to work.

Still, like I said before I think, real time shadows is kind of "dubious" because 1060+ disabled realtime sun shadows for players / peds in interiors, so this is mostly useless for people who play these versions. Though ENB users on patch 4 could still benefit I guess...

I just hope it's not something impossible to add back with this new cascaded method for shadow maps. I swear rockstar should quadruple check before adding or fixing one thing lmao

What compat edits?

This mod sets up all timecycle modifiers to use blank values that add\change\remove nothing about the game's default timecycle values, these blank values were created by R* themselves for the "injured" timecycle modifier (which actually works when player takes damage but it's invisible), so basically the same effect was set up for the interiors as well.

Ah damn damn, so the files are still blank in most of the values? I thought you had updated it to just remove the coloring. Lmao my bad.

But when it comes to the modifiers, DayL's Natural Timecycle also edits them so of course you'll have to use either these blank modifiers or his modifiers.

Yep, all data related to timecycle modifiers has been nullified so when you enter an interior, the game's visuals still behave as if you were outside. The timecycle modifiers get literally ignored at this point.

As for timecycle mods like DayL's Natural Timecycle, you can freely use this mod over that one and there won't be a single conflict at all (I've tested it by myself), this mod will ensure the visuals always remain the same as they're set up in the "timecyc.dat" file no matter what happens.

EDIT:

BTW about the real-time shadows: What I meant to say by "real-time shadows" in this mod's description was that regardless of player shadows being rendered in interiors on the various game versions, it at least enables the map-related shadows in interiors (like you saw in the test video where the Libertonian's skylights had actual sunlight coming in through them).

Update:

- Added an alternate version of the mod that simply nullifies all timecycle modifiers to -1, making the game fall back to using timecyc.dat values for all columns instead of using R*'s dumb "invisible timecycle modifier" values.

OP updated. I don't have IV anymore so this update goes completely untested, I'd be grateful if someone can do a couple of screenshots or videos on how the alternate version looks!
