Taxi minivan

I get that the Ford and Chevy taxis in the game have push bars on the front and bumper guards in the back mostly because they're retired police vehicles, but why does the minivan? Was the minivan a police vehicle? That's more common in Europe(minivan police cars) than North America from what I know.

Not all taxis are ex police vehicles, they're fleet vehicles, some car brands even make their own taxi packages for their models they sell in bulk to cab companies, etc. 

 

tbh makes sense for the minivan taxi to have extra protection not only because being on the streets 24/7 means you need extra protection from clumsy drivers, etc. but repairing a broken push bar is a lot cheaper and easier than repairing a broken radiator and grille
