Netflix/Mobile edition improvements for PC/consoles

Recommended Posts

Here's hoping they patch up the games and bring the positive changes in the Netflix versions. :/ I just want the classic fog back, as well as the overall atmosphere from the old games. GTA III looks like an improved PS2 version of GTA IV, same with GTA SA and GTA V, and probably GTA VC and GTA VI.

TO be specific, I just want the classic color palettes, not the ones they apparently copied from HD era games. Bring that back and mix it with the improvements. Also bringing up the limited draw distance and fog.

Things they should retain from the consoles:

1. Render/detail distance

2. texture quality

3. Clouds

3. Most of the stuff

Things that should be carries over:

1. Color Palette

2. Fog/Draw Distance

AKA the "Classic Lighting" setting

Also, am I the only one who miss the classic console lock-on reticles, especially the one in GTA SA (three triangles that changes color depending on enemy's health)?

I do miss the OG PS2/PC aiming reticles. I was surprised when I changed the aiming control scheme to the classic setting that it didn't bring those back. They had made being able to tell who your target was and how much health they have so much easier. I wish someone would mod the DE's reticle, so it at least changes from green to yellow/red as your target loses health.

As for fog, there are mods out there to bring the fog back. I've yet to find one that restores the classic colour palettes and radars in HD quality though.

What is a "netflix" version?

Netflix has games now. If u have active Netflix subscription you gain access to about hundred mobile games including GTA III, VC, SA.

How do the consoles not get this update, too? I mean, the DE trilogy is basically an updated port of the mobile release, no? It just seems like a fix that should be offered across all devices.

Two reasons:

  1. Rockstar probably couldn't be bothered to port the mobile version's features to the console/PC release of the DE trilogy considering how much of a dumpster fire it turned out to be.
  2. They're already busy working on GTA Online updates and GTA VI.

1. I thought console version was built off the mobile version? I'm confused.

2. Resources to add lines of code wouldn't take many away from GTAO or GTA6.

I'm highly doubtful we'll (console/PC) receive the update, I was just surprised it wasn't across the board to begin with.

I was talking about the mobile version of the DE trilogy, not the original mobile releases.

The games have hidden PC Ultra settings. this is prob coming to PC until December. The main depots to this day get updated on SteamDB. The qabeta branch has stopped being updated and now only qalive is being updated. We're close

If one day it comes and fixes those oil drums in the desert as well as the movement of various things and also corrects the atmosphere then it could be called the Definitive Edition, because in my opinion so far they are just games remade so as not to have such old graphics in the PS5 with GTA 5 stuff for today's people to want to play

Fr bro, if they return the classic SA atmosphere then it would legit be worthy of the name Definitive Edition, because all other versions lack the orange sky without mods. There's still the missing radio tracks but even the OGs were missing many on PS4 so I can live with that, especially since there's many mods to restore it
