Disappearing Ammo (Bug Fix)

There’s a very easy fix for the common disappearing ammo bug, for most of the weapons anyway. I learned how it works from a GhillieMaster video on YouTube, but I’ve noticed it before with the grenade launcher and the compact grenade launcher.


The Agency armory is most convenient for this. If you buy full ammo for a weapon and then hide it in the gun locker, then all other weapons of the same type that share the same ammo will always be full when you load into a new game or switch lobby. Just force a save before and after and you should be good!

 

It works for the pistol and revolver, submachine gun, machine gun, assault rifle, shotgun, sniper rifle, the grenade launcher and the Minigun. It also works for some special ammo, if you can put it on two Mk II weapons of the same type. Incendiary or FMJ ammo for the Heavy Revolver Mk II for example.

 

You will still have to buy explosive ammo for the Pump Shotgun Mk II and the Heavy Sniper Rifle Mk II. You also have to buy rockets for the RPG, Homing Launcher, ammo for the Railgun and all the other explosives unfortunately.

 

At least you can get full ammo for the Railgun for just 1000$ by calling Merryweather and requesting ammo drop (or using the CEO ability).

Special Ammo can be also locked by playing some specific jobs.

 

e.g. equip explosive ammo for shotgun mk2, then launch DCH in aggresive with shotgun mk2 weapon loadout. As you launch the heist and have that shotgun in your inventory, your shotgun explosive ammo will be locked. Similarly, you can also do it via other jobs that gives you special ammo for mk2 weapon, such as Last Dose 4. But the act 3 setup mission Barage cannot be used, since the game gives you another heavy sniper mk2 with explosive ammo, instead of replace your sniper with explosive ammo.

 

However, with LSDW update, you can now create a job of your own that gives player mk2 weapon with special ammo, which saves your time doing preps.

You can fix that one by unhiding the Battle Rifle from your weapon loadout at a gun locker, and then buying all ammo via the interaction menu & switching sessions. After that you can return to the locker and hide the rifle again

I used this trick to never have to deal with disappearing Mk2 ammo on my Mk2 rifles with armor piercing rounds...It's not a ideal fix, but I'll take it.

 

Funnily enough, I managed to get this trick to refill the tracer rounds ammo on my Pistol Mk2 for free, and also to refill my Incendiary ammo on my Heavy Revolver Mk2 for free.

 

I run both weapons active on my loadout.

 

Technically speaking this shouldn't be possible because they're the only Mk2 weapons on the pistols category.

 

I have no idea how I did this beyond buying all ammo for all types of rounds, for all Mk2 weapons I have.

Hi, can u elaborate on the create job thingy? I tried to do it today but it's not working...

I created a deathmatch and put some shotgun mk2 with explosive rounds on the ground; tried to pick them up with both forced loadout and owned loadout but it's not working :(

Check out this job by BaiMu. In the job you are forced to equip Mk2 weapon with AP rounds. Explosive rounds will be lock after launching this job.
