Gillian
Gillian's GTA IV Downgrade Utility Semi-automatically downgrades your GTA IV installation to 1.0.8.0 or 1.0.7.0. DOES NOT MEAN TO REPLACE CLONK'S TOOL IT'S JUST MY OWN SPIN Requirements Windows 7 or newer. .NET 6 (should be present already). Visual C++ Redistributables (same). Internet connection. Features Downgrading the game to 1.0.8.0 or 1.0.7.0 - quickly or fully. Portable GFWL installation. Installing the base essential mods. Backing up the files that could be potentially replaced. Cleaning up the game folder from potentially incompatible things (*.asi, dsound.dll) before downgrading. Taking the selected toggles in account to automatically adjust logic (aka, the tool shouldn't let you do incompatible selections) Usage Launch the tool. Select your game folder, the one that includes GTAIV.exe. Toggle Make GFWL-compatible off if you don't plan to play with GFWL. Toggle other things if your heart desires so. Default options are fine, usually. Press Downgrade. Done! Download If you have any issues, post them on GitHub Issues, as I'm going to be checking the forum less frequently. Due to the nature of the tool pulling from the internet, it also shouldn't become out-of-date. The Setup Utility is also a supplement to this tool, check it out too! Also check out my Modding Guide! Does it make a separate copy of the game in another folder when downgraded or do we have to backup the ce files?

Gillian
v1.3.0 Made the downloading proccess async, which won't freeze up the app anymore when downloading something. Added a progress tracker for downloads. Fixed the buttons enabling/disabling. Fixed installing redistributables, made it synchronous and wait for the installers to quit. Fixed a few minor issues. v1.3.1 Change the folder check from `Steam` to `steamapps` instead. v1.3.2 Fix the app asking for a backup even if you did a backup already. Remove gta4browser.exe as it's unnecessary for GFWL to function. Added GXT files to restore GFWL text. Log ratelimit errors. Gillian
v2.0.0 Added an "Advanced Mode" - most toggles are hidden under it now. Added an automatic check for whether redistributables are installed to avoid repeated installations. Steam Achievements will no longer be enabled by default if installing GFWL. Removed "Backup" and "Install redistributables" buttons, moved their functions to the unified "Downgrade" button. Visual C++ 2005 will be installed correctly now (fix for SecuLauncher error). Added more logging to the downgrading proccess. Removed Portable GFWL due to causing issues. v2.1.0 Asking the user for elevation if the game is located in Program Files and not steamapps. Auto-saving the game directory to the config. v2.2.0 Auto-delete launc.dll, socailclub.dll, orig_socialclub.dll and 1911.dll as they may cause the game not to start after downgrading. Fix vertical black line at the right edge of the window. Fix inconsistent height between the game directory TextBox and "Open" Button Do not show advanced mode tip when disabling the checkbox.
