When will GTA 7 release?

It's still way too early, who knows ... sooner or later, maybe 2032? I think it will be a bit sooner..but we don't know what they'll do with Expansions/Online/DLCs either yet, if that could continue with the next GTA or not.

We don't know what their next game might be either, if it's an open world that requires as much time or a smaller one, will depend too.

if covid didn’t happen we would’ve had VI already, and if AI is powerful in the future then development might gets shorted, so to me 2032?

Yeah well, I like not thinking too much about it. The wait has been increasingly long between each new title so it's almost certain that a decade will have passed after VI's release at the very least before we start hearing about the next game.

Yep, I agree with you. 2040 at the VERY earliest. I'd say it's coming in 2043.

 

This in my opinion is Rockstar's line-up all the way until the early 2040's.

 

• 1H 2025 - Grand Theft Auto VI (PS5, Xbox Series X) -> why X only, yeah, I'm confident that they'll (Rockstar) scrap the S version since it won't run at all - they'll announce this in late 2024 or early 2025 so everyone still has time to invest in a X or PS5 to play the game on release.
• 2H 2026 - Grand Theft Auto VI (PC)
• 2H 2027 - first major expansion to the Grand Theft Auto VI story mode including a new city (a brand new one to the GTA universe)

2028 - release of next-gen hardware - PS6 and the next Xbox

• 2H 2028 - Grand Theft Auto VI Expanded & Enhanced for the next-generation of consoles (PS6, next Xbox, PC)
• 1H 2030 - NY Noire - a successor to L.A. Noire will be released set in New York (City) spawning from the early 1970's to late 1970's featuring iconic stuff like the building of the 'Twin Towers' or the great Blackout in 1977 - it'll be a cross-gen title (PS5, Xbox Series X, PS6, next Xbox, PC)
• 2H 2032 - second major expansion to the Grand Theft Auto VI story mode including a new city (Liberty City will come back) (PS5, Xbox Series X, PS6, next Xbox, PC)
• 2H 2035 - Red Dead Redemption 3 set in the golden age of the Wild West (PS6, next Xbox)

2040 - release of next-gen hardware - PS7 and the new Xbox

• 1H 2043 - Grand Theft Auto 7 (PS7, new Xbox) - they'll call it 7 (not VII) this time because they have a marketing deal with Sony to commemorate with their recently released PS7 system.

I like your ideas, the only thing I don't agree with is GTA6 being cancelled for the Xbox Series S, it won't be, even if it runs like sh*t.

I think they will stay with GTA-Red Dead Cycle, Next Red Dead 2030, then GTA 2035, but i see possibility that we will get Bully 2 as smaller game between GTA and Red Dead, we must also remember that COVID affected thing and that’s why we wait for GTA VI so long

That’s also very possible, look how AI evolve in just 2 years and it will go even further,Zelnick said in some interview that he believe that AI might make development very effective, which will speed up work
