GTA VI ""Leaks"" Analysis Thread Part II

Message added by Spider-Vice,

This topic is not about the legitimate September 2022 leaks for the game, but rather to analyse/discuss/mock/etc supposed "leaks" found on the Internet. From most likely fake maps, to images, and so on.

Thanks for understanding. Copyrighted/leaked content rules apply, posting any of the 2022 leaks here is not allowed.

I've already analyzed it and it's 100% fake, I could've believed that V-Rock could be a '80s themed radio station, but not Flash FM, among other things I mentioned yesterday.

Why not? Flash could be a shortened for Flashback

Nope, Flash FM and Flashback FM are two entirely different radios from different GTAs.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have a tracklist of the songs that were used for the leak? Were there any repeat songs that were already used in previous games?

This clip is interesting because there is another song playing at the beginning of the clip but I'm unable to identify it.

Interesting case, I wasn't aware there was even one that didn't feature in GTA V, with the assumption they were all placeholders. That's one of the earliest clips, too. I'd be kind of surprised if they had already licensed new music at that point, seems like a relatively late development thing, so that makes me wonder what that's all about.

Yeah, it makes sense for them to save the music selection towards the end of development, so they can have up-to-date music from artists on the stations that play contemporary music. Although I think with V, there were cases where they had music selected sorta early on in development. I had a theory that I've kept to myself, mostly because it's a real stretch and a reach. Assuming that track is not cut from the game, I was theorizing that maybe this song is probably going to be used for a scripted moment in the game's story. V's story has several examples of songs that are heard on the radio that are scripted to play during key moments, the most well-known example being Chicago's If You Leave Me Now playing when Trevor is returning Patricia Madrazo back to Martin.

Smoke On The Water is about when Deep Purple went to Switzerland record an album and witnessed the Montreux Casino fire during a Frank Zappa concert in 1971.

In the leaks, we see Lucia & Jason getting involved with a guy named Dre who seems to be a record producer or the manager for a rap artist named Boobie(?). It seems like there will be a subplot where we help Dre and his client with their music career. In the rap world, conflicts are pretty common among artists, especially more so if they have connections to gangs. It's well known that Zoe Pound, a Miami-based gang that San 4 San are based on, extort rap artists who do music videos or record music in the Miami area. They have had a couple documented conflicts with artists such as Lil Wayne and others.

My theory is that this subplot eventually culminates into a violent climax between Dre and Boobie and their rivals (perhaps San 4 San), likely taking place at a concert venue during a performance. The violence causes a fire to erupt, and the venue is burned to the ground just like the Montreux Casino back in 1971. As Jason and Lucia are making their getaway from the scene, this song is scripted to play on the radio when they get into a car to drive away in an example of ironic dark humor. As the name states, the venue is near the water. In the leaks, there is a clip of Jason clipping over chairs at a venue based on Miami's FPL Solar Ampitheater. Although, it could very well be any venue that's nearby a body of water on the map. Maybe a blaze atop one of those big cruise ships docked at the Miami Port??

But it's just a theory... a game theory!

Specifics aside, I think it does make sense that there would be some tracks they'd be particularly interested in incorporating earlier in development, yeah. It's a low-stakes enough thing where they can pivot if there ends up being issues with licensing, but in the interim time they can do probably do some tests with downloaded mp3s even without licensing, like temp music. I don't know if they're supposed to but it would be pretty easy to get away with.

I've been thinking about this a lot and I definitely think we'll be getting certain dynamics like this throughout the story where specific songs are scripted to play during different moments. IDK if this was the same in IV, but I do remember there were certain songs that aligned with the character in some way (Queen's "One Vision" being an example off the top of my head), while V evolved with several examples like the one you mentioned.

Like we know, the music selection is one of the last things done in development, but I think songs like Smoke on the Water, along with Love Is A Long Road (more obvious ofc), might be new tracks that have already been licensed for whatever the game's rock station is gonna be.

Also, follow up question: does anybody have the tracklist of songs from the fake radio leak? I couldn't listen to it when it was still here, but was it just commercials and audio lines or did songs play in it as well?

It happened in IV already!

Muffled Kanye West - Flashing Lights playing through apartment doors in "Holland Nights" was so atmospheric!

Spoiler

I'm trying hard not to sh*t on GTA V rn in comparison :lmaokek:

No, but in one video there's a notification on the screen about a received message.

So Legacy revealed Jason’s actor and if he’s right which I’m sure many of us believe he is we should seriously consider the rest of what he had to say in his video.

He talked about Jason’s actor and that’s great but more importantly he said there are legit leaks of the story out there and Lucia having a child was at least at one point 100% true.

Do we have anything about the story out there besides these two that are somewhat believable?

Besides Dylan Rourke being Jason, LegacyKillaHD also said that:

  • Lucia will have a child in the story, but this might change.
  • Basketball will be an activity.
  • You will be able to play american Football.
  • Some devs are happy that Dan Houser left.

Child thing came from someone else months back. The rest seems obvious. Just take that stuff with the usual pinch of salt rather than jumping on it just because lol

American Football seems like a weird sport for GTA just because it's not really the sort of thing you can just up and decide to do with someone like a round of golf, tennis, or basketball. There's versions of it that don't require all the equipment but you still need a full team for it. These are the sorts of "leaks" that I don't really even seriously consider, I was just taking a moment to ponder the implications of football in a GTA game lol.

Legacy believes that this is being made with Online in mind.

The idea that R* are gonna do a story where two career criminals kidnap a child from their foster family and ride into the sunset together, which would mean a point of no return so the story reverts back to pre-final mission after you finish it, is a hard thing to believe, lol.

Whatever they do, I fully expect them allow you to continue playing after the story is over because that is R*'s M.O. and something they've invested into quite a bit with RDR in particular, living and playing in a changed worldstate due to the consequences in the finale.

There have been a lot of false story leaks since the 90 video clips were posted.

I say this as someone who is skeptical at best when it comes to "leaks" like this; but if American Football makes it into VI in any shape or form, I'm going to be massively disappointed if R* doesn't include a trophy/achievement for playing it while wearing a tuxedo...

"but this might change"

I call bs. I doubt something as important to the story as Lucia having a child would be subject to change at this stage of development.

Also, didn't this come from that obviously fake "leak" of either Jason or Lucia dying at the end and one of them running off with the child to Cuba or something like that?

I never believe story leaks because that sh*t is on a need to know basis at R*, unless you're actually on the writing team or working on cutscenes/dialogue you don't know anything about the story, and I doubt the people involved would tell anyone outside of the studio anything

J'appelle bs.

It comes from a reddit leak this story where he fetches the child in Cuba, holds I found the last paragraph of the leak:

Spoiler

Lucia bravely gives her life to shield Jason from the federal government. As she takes her final breath, she implores Jason to find and protect her daughter, who resides in Cuba. Running from the Feds and filled with sorrow, Jason embarks on a perilous journey to fulfill Lucia's last wish and ensure the safety of her daughter. In a heartwarming twist, Jason finally locates Lucia's daughter in a small village in Cuba. Overwhelmed with emotion, he embraces his newfound role as a guardian, as the scene ends with Jason hugging Lucia's child. We than get the song "One of These Nights" by the Eagles played on all through the credits.

To sound more credible, he even said which song will be in the credits lol. I'd be surprised if there was only one song in the credits

Funny as hell, RDR2's entire story outline was leaked in a similar way almost 2 years before its release.

I'm not saying the ones we're discussing have to be correct, but maybe there's something out there, and we'll only focus on it when R* reveals more info officially.

Doesn't work like that. The bigger the company gets, the harder it gets to prevent such leaks. Hell, something might already be out there, but there's nothing to verify yet. No one really paid attention to that RDR2 leak until the pieces started to fall in place.
