THE STORY OF GTA VI?

The protagonist couple: Lucia and Jason

 

Apparent inspirations:

• Bonnie and Clyde:

  • " Houser cited Cocaine Cowboys as a fitting plotline for a female-driven Rockstar game"
    • (If Lucia will be like Blanco, she could be the most ruthless GTA protagonist yet)

 

 

Plot?

• From prison to riches?
  • Lucia's ankle bracelet comes off at some point -> Couple on the run?
• From small scale robberies to Empire building?

 

Significant Side Characters

• Lucia's parole/probation officer?

 

Themes

• Based on Trailer 1:
  • Trust/Betrayal
    • (Predicting that there will be a break up point where player has to make decision which character they will play as)
• Project Americas codename
  • Game will comment on divided United States (Red and Blue Americas) through the two main protagonists? & through the satire in general

 

 

What is your theory on the story?

It does strongly hint this will be an issue in the dynamic. Such possible endings do feel highly likely.

The ankle bracelet thing is very interesting. There's higher stake. There's actually someone who's tracking down our move. Unlike GTA V, the pressure Jason and Lucia face will be more intense and realistic.

Upon closer inspection I take back that it is spot on. But it would still be a good match.

I feel like some of the scenes we saw in the trailer are already quite early on in the story. Since GTA V and RDR2 both have these 'introduction' chapters (North Yankton heist, and snowy Grizzlies) I feel like for GTA VI it will the Prison Break. IIRC it was also seen in the leaks that this would be among the very first missions?

So my general guess for The Introduction of GTA VI:

• Lucia is in Prison, talks with the counselor etc.
• We start out playing only as Lucia.
• Learning the basic game mechanics like fist-fighting in a fight that breaks out between Lucia and an inmate.
   
• Jason breaks her out, in which he throws Lucia a gun, or Jason kills a guard after which Lucia steals the guards gun.
• Introduction to the shooting mechanics
• Getting into the getaway vehicle, we switch to Jason.
• Introduction to driving mechanics while escaping the cops
   
• Escaped the cops, cutscene in car plays
• Car drives over a bridge, camera pans out from the rear window and rises high up, showing the car continueing on the bridge with a wide shot of Vice City
• Grand Theft Auto VI logo appears.

I'm sure that Jason is an undercover cop which either drops the badge for Lucia OR he's an undercover cop all along and betrays her at the end.

Hence the "trust" focus in the trailer

I don't know why everyone thinks a gta main character needs to end his story as a billionaire.

RDR2 has an excelent epic unforgettable story and at some point in chapter six you feel that money just has no value.

 

Yes, I know, you still can get rich and live in wealth, it's an open world, but I feel like a story poor-to-rich is just weak, predictable and clichè.

 

 

About the TRUST / BETRAYAL theme
I totally agree. That end line, those two words, were not there without a reason.

I totally agree. That end line, that two words, were not there without a reason.

disagree, besides why can it be both start from the bottom now we here story with building a Criminal Empire and a Love/Trust/Betrayal story. it's what im hoping for.

I'm sorry but Jason is not a cop that'll be just dumb for GTA.

This could be a plot twist and decision making at some point, deciding the end game.

Romantic involvement, trust, and one of them possibly being undercover can be one hell of a story. The decision of staying together or betraying might be left to the player.

Probably GTA Online grind has made some believe this is the way. Some will be very sad finding they can't transfer their 100m/1b, private yacht and fleet of gold planes to 6. And that's ok.

i have a feeling that Lucia would be an absolute psycho, not Trevor insane but the narcissistic kind and she manipulates and uses Jason to her advantage.

Prediction: Lucia dies 1/2 way through the story and only then do we take control of Jason as he gets revenge.
This way it's more like Red Dead where you play just 1 person at a time (Arthur then John, Or John then Jack) but also like GTAV where you have multiple protags.

Lucia seems like she will stab Jason in the back eventually, but he probably will be the one who will survive, he don't look like a dummy like in the leak no more, he looks more serious now, similar to Niko.

That'd be good storewise but honestly it'd be sad to stop playing as her. Or maybe there could be an additional path where Jason dies instead?

I believe so, I definitely feel like they are going to make the relationship between them the main focus and theme of the game. I am sure that will reflect the ending of the game if that is the case.

I can see that as an alternative to the "happy" ending. In the end, I feel she'll be the one getting them into trouble and he's the level-headed one looking out for her. Her getting him killed would make for a good ending, followed by grief and probably a pretty sh*tty feeling after-story game. She'd face the consequences of her actions and it cost her the most important person in her life.

Yeah, like rolling the dice. And the player chooses who triumphs. It might turn out that Jason is the “immoral” character. We just don’t know yet. It might an happy ending, or it might be just like someone said, more complex

Maybe Lucia was arrested for a crime she didn’t commit or had to, Jason was a policeman in jail, felt in love with her and help her to escape and take her/their revenge

I highly doubt they would go the route of killing either one of them off during the story, but I can see an ending where you have to choose between trusting each other (Trust scene foreshadow?) or leaving someone behind. Could be completely wrong tho, I just hope the story is a banger.

Without Trailer 2 its a little tricky but for now it looks like Lucia is dragging Jason into all this sh*t. Of course he is not a pure soul either but having that spicy latina on his side probably just worsens him. We definitely need something from him first, he doesn't look like an ex cop or something but I could be totally wrong.

 

Maybe they met at a robbery and then it just went "damn that was nasty but cool, lets exchange numbers" and so the relationship and character switching ability starts.

If Carcer city is in the game which was somewhat speculated based on the "trust me bro" leaks, it would be very interesting to have a contrast of most glabour mixed with debucharey being on the side of pure roughness in living, since i think Carcer is based on chicago? Would be interesting.

Since it's based on Bonnie and Clyde and more so because it's R* i fully expect either two of them die at the end or at least one of them dies, maybe one even get's something like Cancer or something else.

i could see that if we didnt just have that same story with RDR2. i dont see R* using the same concept. but its possible.

I hope either way, r* don't make one canon over the others tho. I liked how nothing was 100% canon in GTA 4, it was all player's choice, but now it seems that V has a canon series of choices so whatever choices you do make in the story truly don't matter cuz the game has it's own set in place.
