The trailer is highlighting how out-of-touch the rest of the world is with American culture

This is modern day America. Miami is known for being the party capital of America. So young women twerking on a car is sadly normal in this day and age.

Lemoyne outlaw

i have been to tampa a few times. and i definitely saw a few weird people. and i have no doubt that there are plenty of people irl who behave just like the trailer people.

They showed how out of touch they were even before the trailer when it was pretty much confirmed the trailer was Miami lol(the whole Miami is just another LA). Everything in the trailer was accurate or modern Miami lol.

Also a lot of ppl dont be outside and be introverts lol. Anyone who has been to Southern Florida doesnt find any of this surprising.

Non-Americans really dont know Americans meanwhile they complain about Americans supposedly thinking we the center of the world…

Edit:

Alot of ppl dont even know what the term “woke” even means but yet keep spamming it.

I think it's less that people are 'out-of-touch' or that people think rockstar are poised and more that it doesn't seem like GTA. Sure it's real, but so is the absurdity of LA, however it wasn't as apparent when featured as Los Santos in the first V trailer. Compare this trailer to other Rockstar trailers and theres a clear difference.

I can think of worse things.

The European equivalent of Florida would be Ibiza, Spain. I think most Europeans are aware of Ibiza, Florida is simply Ibiza on steroids

As a European who recently visited the US I completely agree. GTA was exaggerating a lot less than I thought!

Yea, pretty much.

GTA is an exaggerated take on whatever location and time period it's set in.

GTA VI is set in modern day Miami, Florida - Miami being one of the worlds most infamous party cities and Florida being known world wide for being one of the wackiest places on the planet.

GTA VI was always going to have a heavy dose of eccentricity as a result.

As for the whole social media angle... welcome to 2023 lol.

Been there, done that. Place is wild.

Come to think of it, Florida is more like a mix of Ibiza (party and beach lifestyle) and Russia (crazy behavior)

V's trailer dropped in 2011, back when social media wasn't pervasive in every single minute facet of our lives and freakshows spazzing out didn't go viral and get 10s of millions of views in a matter of days.

In 2011 social media was still in its infancy, but fast forward through the 2010's and you'll see how a sort of "freak culture" started blowing up on Instagram in 2017, and vanity & flexing started becoming a way more prominent topic in social discourse, exemplified by the rise of hypebeast culture, Supreme, LV, kids wearing Gucci, weirdos pulling stunts like Supreme Patty or Woah Vicky.

The mid 2010's took all the hyperbolic trashiness typical of huge US metropolises and cranked it up to 11, and now in 2023 social media is like a hyperreality overlaid on top of our everyday lives which shows us all sorts of weird events and people.

It's only natural that in the current year this is what GTA parodies, this is what we spend half of our day looking at on our phones.

Funny thing is I have been living in Florida for 9 years and most of the stuff folks talk about happening here, I've never seen. I suppose it's in the few big cities and I live in North Central and it's pretty quiet around here. More old f*cks from the New England states around here than actual Floridians.

Trailer looks hella normal to me I think people just weird as hell. Everything gotta be called "woke" too I do hate how insidious identity politics are with today's society. Like it's a game. GTA has always been exaggerated and a parody of modern times. And twerking in public was something crazy circa like 7 years ago, anyone who is tripping about that now must be old, dusty, busted and disgusting ☠️

Fastest growing state in the country for the past few years, then again I think Florida has always had northeasterners moving down there for like decades

I am not American, I have lived in the United States for 5 years, in Texas to be precise, and I got to say that the things I have seen in the trailer are very accurate. You Americans are crazy motherf*ckers! :kekw:

Going_To_Aruba_01

Exactly, thank you!

And hey, if they hate it so much why don't they just buy the game when it comes out?

Then they can run over as many of these redneck hillbillies and ratchet hoes as they desire lmao.

Seriously though, how is this not expected at this point. As far back as III peds have been walking around the cities saying appalling things, mugging and jacking each other, some farting in SA, picking up hookers themselves and arguing with one another in IV, getting drunk outside clubs and spewing their guts out in TBoGT, etc etc.

It's GTA for christsakes, this, whether you like it or not, is how irl behaviour has evolved and is therefore how GTA shenanigans will evolve.

Like… Every time i go to Miami beach as a  tourist literally see f*ckery on the streets. lol Again none of this is surprising. All R* did was up the f*ckery 10 fold lol.

I live in Ocala, the fastest growing metro area in the entire country.

I’m not American but a good catch up for them would to be to watch Atlanta,

I even think GTA VI might have taken some influences from it

Yep and crazy thing the stuff in the travel not even the craziest. Like I said GTA is a parody of American culture.

I mean you Also have to consider how prominent drug use is in the US which consequently causes episodes like the ones we see in the trailer.

My girlfriend is from Kansas and crackheads are everywhere, one time some drugged out hobo jumped at her with his pants down and his ass out.

Considering stuff like that is a daily occurrence in KANSAS I'm absolutely not surprised to see naked people on bath salts in a fictional version of Florida

Even with stuff you see on social media in real life, many viral videos from America show weird and crazy sh*t just like what we saw in the trailer. This is the norm, and if anything we are at a point in time where the real world became the real satire :kekw:

That sh*t was exaggerated but as someone that's visited many times it ain't unrealistic lol. Or even woke. Hell, I feel like this is a way more accurate representation of people than V. Especially when I saw the mudding. That sh*t is real
