The bridges and tunnels in the 3d universe of GTA IV & V

Why do all the bridges and tunnels in GTA IV and V have dashed lines even those that say "stay in lane"? (like the Booth Tunnel, Elysian Freeway Bridge or was it the Miriam Turner Overpass, whichever one) This is one of my questions. (The question becomes especially relevant when the Lincoln Tunnel in real life has solid lines, not jagged lines.)

There's a lot of mistakes but it wasn't as bad as San Andreas. I get triggered by the double yellow lines to separate lanes on the Golden Gate bridge.

Oh yeah, that's annoying. Like yeah, I noticed they did that to a lot of other roads with two-lanes that are going the same direction.

Also, yes, I did mean to like your post. I'm just new to this site and didn't know you could do that. I should've looked to the right side of the webpage.

Also, on the bridges near the industrial area and port in GTA V, why are the drivers going so slow if that's a highway, in my opinion they should be doing at least 40 or 50 like on the Golden Gate Bridge and such which are highway bridges.

They all suffer from vertigo.

My big traffic peeve is the highways in San Andreas, can't use them without wrecking your car. Aswell as the Algonquin bridge were all the cars swerve to avoid the subway underneath the road deck.

It's one of those "British-isms" of Rockstar that carried over into the Grand Theft Auto games.

They never really properly designed a good highway system until Grand Theft Auto V. All GTA games until Grand Theft Auto IV had the same weird issue of vague British/Euro influence on city design/roads.

cant remember

A funny Euro influence is the placement of the traffic lights, it's also only in V they are placed at the end of intersections US style instead of at the stop line like in Europe.

Though the double yellow is wrong even for the UK, there it would be a single white solid line or striped white line  depending if you're allowed to change lane or not

SA had some lights that were at the end of intersections. (Also note that weird red light placement)

They do that here in Florida (Vice City had it too) so the winds from the hurricanes and etc won’t knock the traffic lights down but I dunno why california does them like that either. It’s prob just a reused asset from VC

Are you talking about the horizontal placing? Because I meant that the light which shows red on that image doesn't serve any purpose since there won't be any cars coming from that direction. Unless they put it there for the one guy who is gonna be using that driveway.

I grew up in the Bay Area, we don't really have those types of traffic lights around here. Los Angeles doesn't have those types of traffic lights either. Growing up as kid playing GTA: SA it struck me as extremely odd.

Rockstar probably got lazy and re-used the assets. Here's a photo of a modded GTA: San Andreas using GTA V's traffic lights:

It feels much more natural.
