EDIT: There's another one of those near LVPD but my game crashed once I took a picture with the camera. It also makes a sound.

anyone else modding or trying to update mods? been trying to get passed this crash, im assuming they didnt change from ue4.26, i can still change textures but models keep giving me this crash

Maybe there's no sound unless LV is unlocked? Can you check right after starting a new game?

I really don't know what's going on, I like the update but no matter how, when I play the game I just do one mission and maybe roam around but I don't want to play, really. There's something off with the game for me, even with those nice updates. Quite sad but that's how it is I guess.

It's quite annoying the automatic response from R* support regarding bug reports, I followed up with a response specifying that they forward it to the developers, as previously mentioned in the forum.

And then, when I fire up the OG on my Deck, I'm like "yeah, that's my boy" while it's the same game really... that's the first time it happens to me with a "remaster"

WTF? The front lights of standard sentinel looks like he is sad, like he was beaten by the parents when he was young. How is possbile that they f*ck up so badly porting cars.  In OG the front was almost the same except bumper.  Now is pathetic

Yes it is broken.. on 3 and VC they should fix it so some vehicles with white lights will come on when reversing.

Little sad there's no development activity happening on Steam, I hope they're working on a patch behind the scenes tho.

Rechecked these fountains again, seems like on 100% save the sound is there, but when driving near it, then driving away and going back on foot, makes the sound disappear. Or maybe it's random issue, I don't know. The code in original game that is supposed to play these sounds is never called, so I guess the new code is like that.

It would be cool if they added the raindrops on the 3 DE games, it was great on the OG Xbox versions of III and VC👍🏻

That would require them to acknowledge the Xbox versions and the improvements they brought. Don't even get me started on the GTA 3 Xbox map that they completely ignored...

Anyone else's PC (steam version) takes a while to auto-log in to social club? This wasn't happening before with TDE.

Sometimes it doesn't so I need to restart.

The OG XBOX versions of III and VC still look great, even on a modern TV, with a good adapter. However, SA hurts the eyes..

Yeah, it's tradition for every SA port to be godawful so I wasn't really talking about that one. It's just the already busted PC version with even worse compression. Just look at these wonderfully ported icons...

I'm still salty that Microsoft ended the backwards compatibility program literally right after the DE released. And to pour salt in the wound, just about every OG Xbox R* game aside from the original Trilogy was included in the final batch of games. It's a shame they were never able to work out some kind of "all-in-one" version of the OG Xbox/360 emulators for games that aren't officially part of the program, perhaps adding a "your mileage may vary" warning message before booting to account for the inevitable emulation issues.

 

If you want to get technical, XB1/Series consoles do read the OG Xbox SA disc...

All three games have custom soundtrack support as well. You need CDs if your Xbox isn't modded, but aside from that, the feature is surprisingly comparable to the PC counterparts. It's actually better in III/VC, since you can hold the Black button while pressing the D-Pad to change tracks/albums (tracks play sequentially and cannot be skipped in their PC ports, IIRC). SA also has a replay feature, but it's primitive compared to the PC version.

Wow 😳

The PS2 version is the best for atmosphere, the Xbox version is the downgraded version of the PC, I believe there are some additional elements and vegetation, but nothing revolutionary.

The palm trees in VC are broken in the Xbox OG version unfortunately. 

It's weird because I grew up playing Vice City and San Andreas on the OG Xbox, so those are the 'good old days' versions for me. I didn't realise they were downgrades from the original PS2 versions, at least seemingly in the case for VC and SA.

It's probably all Cockstar's fault, since afaik it's up to publishers whether or not a game can end up on the BC program afaik, and they already cucked Xbox 360 users out of the original Xbox version waaaaay back in the day.

The worst part is that on a modded 360 if you use the Xbox One compatibility files for OG Xbox games all 3 games emulate flawlessly. They work perfectly fine out of the box, they just chose not to enable them.

We can go on and on and post pics of what has improved, and indeed there were heaps of improvment in the last major 1.13 patch thankfully and how heaps of bugs still remain, but this is the real main point in here. Looks like development of the Trilogy has stopped after the last major 1.13 patch. Really really hope it is not an indication that Video Games Deluxe is now put on some different project by T2/R* and the last patch was all that we will ever be getting :(. The game really needs another two massive patches atleast with hundreds of bug fixes per patch like the last patch to be truly regarded as a definitive edition.

According to Rockstar Support the next patch is being worked on. It could be empty promises but it at least provides some indication that there may be at least one more patch.

I hate to say it but I don't think R* has much incentive to continue working on them. They are one of the few business-first game devs that (somehow) still have a good reputation. They aren't known for long-standing support on their games unless there's money to be made, and its fair to say that the Trilogy has reached the end of its release cycle in their eyes. With the game now being 3 years old and the mobile versions finally being released, there's no real incentive to continue working on them since all the money to be made has been at this point. It doesn't help that this new patch has been given the reputation of it "fixing" DE which would send the message to Rockstar that it's now "good enough".

 

I still believe that last post from the alleged insider about the development of DE. They might have not been 100% accurate about the fixes just sitting "untouched" for a year since there are some exclusive fixes in this patch, but it makes sense that R* would want to bring parity between the versions with one more patch and then put it back on ice. Frankly, I'm surprised they put this one out at all considering this is the same company that is selling a literally unplayable, improperly cracked version of Manhunt on Steam and has done absolutely nothing about it and probably never will. They have shown that they aren't one for fan service and this game probably won't suddenly become an exception. I really hope I'm wrong, but outside of a hotfix here and there I don't see much reason from Rockstar's perspective to keep spending money when they can just collect passive income forever by letting these 60 dollar "fixed" versions being the only ones you can buy on most platforms until the end of time.
