Recommended Posts

Between version 1.112.48699928 and 1.113.49697469 for Vice City, they seem to have made improvements to:

- Skeletal Meshes of Peds:

  • Biker 1 (bka)
    • They fixed the Source Import path:
      • "F:/3MasterCharacters/Characters/..." to ""X:/Perforce/zephyr/branches/3MasterCharacters/Characters/..."

- Minor improvement made to the Exterior LOD of haiti_proxy

If Rockstar Support responds back with a generic copy and paste, just explain they're game bugs and it needs to be reported.

They replied back and seemingly reported my big report.

I expected it, I already got this answer at the beginning of the Trilogy disaster, but then what's the point of sending the remaining bugs to support, the developers end up taking an interest in them beyond the automatic response? Or is it pure chance while waiting for them to realize the problems themselves? The previous patches were published largely thanks to forums like this one I think.

Ils ont répondu et ont apparemment rapporté mon gros rapport.

Yes, I sent these kinds of clear and detailed messages for all 3 games.Screenshot_20241119-202215_Chrome.thumb.jpg.5e69dd05c81fc53e3a45efeca3ce0681.jpgScreenshot_20241119-202314_Chrome.thumb.jpg.f0beccf392d22dc64677e25e854c7a2d.jpgScreenshot_20241119-202105_Chrome.thumb.jpg.21515336a6cffe880d313cec5475ba60.jpgScreenshot_20241119-202118_Chrome.thumb.jpg.6ab092f4810ccb49adfd42fd590cce9f.jpg

Vous n'avez signalé que quelques bugs... il y en a beaucoup plus

I know, I'm counting on you and others to report to support those that I haven't noticed for the moment.

Just a heads up, you are better off reporting a list of issues at once with details and screenshots if possible for a better chance of them passing it along and fixing it. If the report is unclear, and they have to spend additional time figuring out what the report meant, it's likely going to be skipped

This. My experience in Software Development is a bit... unusual due to personal reasons I don't want to elaborate, so take it with🧂.

However, I imagine that QA Departments and Development Teams need to fill out Bug Reports in a way similar to how it looks like on Mojang's (Minecraft dev) Jira (Atlassian platform for bug tracking and task assignment, whatnot).

Things such as screenshots, steps to reproduce, detailed descriptions, specs and any sort of additional information (that is relevant to the issue at hand) are very much necessary and a big help.

Example: https://bugs.mojang.com/projects/MCPE/issues/MCPE-104795?filter=resolvedrecently

Working on software or games is a time consuming process. Just saying there is a floating rock in LS is not enough, nobody is going to spend precious time looking for the floating rock.

If you can provide a screenshot, pointers, context, or any additional information, it will save a lot of time.

This makes it much easier for the team to identify and resolve the issue efficiently, without unnecessary back-and-forth. It also helps keep the team motivated by reducing the effort needed to pinpoint what went wrong, where, and how.

Rockstar Support told a Redditor that they would work on the streetlights falling through the ground issue after he submitted a ticket.

I urge everyone to submit a ticket with steps to reproduce the bug (if possible) and screenshots here: https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001620287

I had to resubmit another one because the person I got didn't seem to understand. I did address that I wanted it sent to the department in charge of these games. I even mentioned VGD since they have addressed there working on them.

In Vice City on Switch, the Minigun pick up outside Vercetti Mansion is broken (if any other Switch user could also confirm I'd appreciate it). I remember this was previously the case at Hyman Condo but it's been fixed at that location. I'll submit this to the support site.

It's baffling to me how this pickup is broken in certain locations but isn't on others, how does this even happen?

So... Rockstar Support is asking me to send them a video of San Andreas where the camera auto-centers while in a vehicle or jetpack. I don't have access to my PC. Could someone record a video? lol

I remember that with PC version of original GTA SA when i was using keyboard to move CJ there were smoother animations when i was rotating CJ, now with GTA SA D.E. these animations are woodys... (i don't know about a controller, because i'm not using it)

One of problems that rarely gets addressed is the lack of traffic of those versions. I booted up the OG and those roads on the DE are so empty in comparison!

For San Andreas it would need more traffic, especially in Los Santos I noticed this problem, for 3 and VC it seems ok.

How do you get support interested?

You can probably send the one I posted a while ago. Dunno if they want a link or a file though.

Kind of insane how much attention this update received:

I'm not surprised, people are always eager to have more GTAs. IMO modern remasters of LCS and VCS would easily be successful for this reason, surely not on Trilogy level but they would make a profit and at the same time preserve the 2 other big GTAs in the franchise. Hopefully that's the next thing that VGD works on after they're done with Trilogy DE, IIRC they also have people who worked at Rockstar Leeds which would be ideal given the custom Leeds engine that those games used.

Personally, I think if the DE remasters of III, VC and SA were done by Rockstar Leeds in their own custom engine that was used for LCS and VCS, I'm sure the end result would've been a whole lot better than what we've got.

Yes. Actually any other engine than the buggy and crappy Unreal Engine 4 would be okay. All the issues are brought by this engine port and lack of management and lack of professionism.

Yeah, I always forget about those two games, I was indeed talking about SA. Those highways in Los Santos or around Las Venturas... ugh it's like a ghost town

I've released an update with more camera improvements and a centering delay ini option, if someone would like to test: https://thirteenag.github.io/wfp#gtasade

Ultimately this is only used by the Unreal Editor/tools internally so I guess it's not really a fix technically :p
