Trilogy Definitive Edition OUT NOW on Mobile via Netflix - Updated on All Platforms

spacer.pngspacer.pngHere's the Switch Version of those photo's, got them as close as I could. Really would love for these improvements to hit there too. (I have the contrast way up in Vice City that's why it's a bit too dark, also both screenshots were taken in Handheld mode)

Thanks for comparing the Switch version. Safe to say they’re major improvements on the way. Very excited to dig into this in a few weeks

I don't trust about all these screens... i have checked an old screen from official site of Trilogy D.E. and...

this is an official screen of old version of game and colors are very, very similar... also you can see a bird that is missing in final version of game... (or are visible only during intros??)

i suggest seriously to wait for final release of mobile version because something can be totally different and i don't like it...

Yup, seems like there actually were birds during cutscenes:

In the first district of GTAIII (Portland) i got a bug in the bridge: normally you cannot drive in because it's closed (until later) but in the Defective Edition something is missing...

I hope that a fix is coming for that bug as well

We should hope for any fix tbh, rockstar is rockstar and they doesn't care much about their older games. I wouldn't be suprise if only mobile versions will have some minor fixes w/o pc and consoles.

I really like what Valve did with Half-Life anniversary. They fixed some of the older bugs, scaled hud for higher resolutions and even downgraded graphics to match classic vibe.

Just imagine how nice would be to have an additional option in graphic settings to switch player models to original one as most of us were complaining that new models look sh*t(most of them, not all ofc).

So that explains the cartoony bushes in the ipad version. It's just the Switch version.

The Halo Master Chief Collection had this very option, at least for the first game. Coincidentally, Rockstar Dundee was one of the developers for those remasters (prior to Take-Two acquiring them, when they were still known as Ruffian Games). A part of me yearns for those pre-announcement days; when there was speculation that Dundee was in charge of the Trilogy rather than GSG, but I digress.

In hindsight, a similar toggle between classic and modern visuals would have done wonders for the DE. Even limiting the option to just the character models would have alleviated much of the criticism surrounding the art direction.

More beta updates today for GTA D.E., GTAIV & GTAV, and also for Social Club files

I'm guessing that because there were changes for IV, V and Social Club too, this doesn't necessarily point to a potential patch for DE?

Only one of these update of today is for Social Club files, all other are private (many beta updates are private i think, we cannot see what is changed, and also depot is not changed)

Remember that original Trilogy on PC & console were removed (except on Rockstar Store) before D.E. release, so this will happen again...

CJ still a chinese in these screens :kekw:

Seems like they've just been updated to include the touch screen icons? Unless I'm missing something. It does kinda look like a nice middle ground between the original and DE visuals from what I can tell.

Does it? To my eyes it looks like the DE but dialled back to look more like the originals.

Is there any way to get info if it supports Xbox gamepad layout for those 3rd party phone gamepads?

No horn button?

This already happened with GTA Chinatown Wars on mobile... also cinematic view is missing in GTA CTW...

I wonder if honking the horn is a situation-specific prompt now, kind of like the side mission button only appearing when you’re in a suitable vehicle. I initially thought it may have been re-mapped to keeping your finger on the center of the screen, but I think that’s already reserved for looking behind you (both on-foot and while driving) in the original mobile ports.

It will almost certainly be useable in some shape or form; several story missions (e.g. Drive Misty For Me) require the horn to progress. It would be a hilariously bad oversight on QA’s part if they somehow ignored forgot something that crucial. Unless it’s somehow still Grove Street Games handling these mobile versions; an oversight like that would be quite on-point for them. :kekw:
