Very true. They also got rid of the "tap to sprint faster" mechanic in SA which screws with my muscle memory and they still haven't restored the proper bike controls.

Yea that's what I meant with the 'walk or sprint' thing. You can notice this at the very beginning when getting on the bike, CJ instantly dances on the pedals as if he was on a BMX racetrack start lol.

 

Along with the awful AI upscales (which I hope Rockstar will continue to fix in future patches), the bad draw distance/LODs and the ugly cartoony character designs, these are my biggest gripes with these versions.

Same here. For me, the worst part that still remains and they should fix:

 

- the LOD management

- the terrain divided into chunks/slices in SA (that you can see when you fly or when you travel between cities)

  • Realistic Steak! 2

I'm just curious why if they can add running and gunning with shotgun or SMG, why not add bailing out of a moving car in GTA 3?

 

Since VC and San Andreas had it, it would make it less frustrating when you can't break fast enough to avoid falling to water or exploding.

This is because GSG pretty much autogenerated every single LOD instead of using the original games' and I doubt it'll ever be fixed because it'd need reauthoring the entire map, to be done properly (and not autogenerated).

As you say, it seems that the LOD is autogenerated. But since they are fixing things, why not edit that LOD (at least improve the autogenerated quality, or even remove the LOD system)? Now the consoles have enough power to run the entire city/map.

Well others might care if they actually had the chance to know that the game isn't actually intended for that mechanic. I guess it being on by default is the real problem I have with it. I can see how it would make some moments less frustrating, but I wish the game did a better job of emphasizing the possibility of the game not actually meant to be played that way. If it was a mod or something that's awesome. Default mechanic on for everyone? Not so sure.

When i try to press the middle clic of mouse to check behing this feature is still broken, Tommy doesn't want to check behind...

 

Are you sure that is really fixed?

 

Also i remember with original version that if i try to help the Police there are 50$ or something as free, well... it doesn't happen with this version because i got one star...

 

And btw the stars... i see these in the sky also when is not evening/night time...

I can't believe we still can't bail out of a moving car. Saint's Mark area with mafia members with shotguns is PAIN to drive.

Enable Tap to sprint in the options menu.

I wish Sony would fix the aspect ratio on classic GTA III, VC, and SA if you disable widescreen. It's stretched and I hate it lol.

Also since we're talking about porting features from newer games, why don't they add VCS style swimming to 3 and VC? Surely it would help those frustrating moments of falling in the water accidentally while trying to get in a boat.

Try to change config in your tv/monitor about aspect ratio and check if is different

If you try to force your display into 4:3, it will squash it beyond 4:3 because Sony puts black bars that are too narrow on the left and right of the image instead of just outputting proper 4:3 in a 16:9 signal or stretching it to fill the screen in 16:9 (in which case forcing it to 4:3 would work).

Not just yet

 

I'm suspecting something about Half-Life series (not just HL2 20th anniversary with a huge update that is coming, other things)
