I mean, there haven't been as many script changes, most of it was art related. I wouldn't say gameplay changed for the worse myself tho, it's just... the same, some stuff that they still need to fix, but I doubt they will.

Is it just me, or are the weapon and radio wheels poorly implemented In DE? Why there is a mouse cursor, and why do you have to point exactly at the weapon icon? It should work like in GTA V, where you just move your mouse across the screen to select a weapon, without the cursor being displayed.

These Trilogy updates are really looking like a sale strategy to me. With this update, now the definitive editions are getting talked for the third time in 3 year, with more people see the positive reviews and buying it. Also, with every year close to the VI’s release date, they are ramping up and polishing games to the R*’s standard. Additionally, it is always close to the December which happened to be the trailer date for VI. I’m sure that we will see one more update.

The reason why Classic Lighting gets rid of the cloud quality settings is because it uses a different sky system I'd assume, which isn't entirely Unreal's stock. Because Classic Lighting is tailored to a specific experience, no use in changing the quality of anything there.

I don't like how fog, water and sandstorm effects are exclusive to classic lighting. The volumetric clouds are also exclusive like you said.

I am tempted to actually get these on PC now, I have them on PS5 but I don't want to choose between the graphical modes.

 

Which... speaking of which, what actually is the difference between Performance and Fidelity talking purely about visuals? Does anyone know?

Making something good is always a good sale strategy. They should have thought about that three years ago

 

Tried a bit on Switch, it's all right. Traffic density is a bit more dense? No more ghost lamppost in the middle of the road in Las Venturas, nice.

I mean; this patch is great and all, and kudos to Rockstar for cleaning up GSG's unrecoverable mess, but is it really worth waiting 3 whole years for this remaster to finally be in a socially acceptable state? 3 years is laughably long to fully patch a game in this online era, especially when modders fixed this sh*t WITHIN months, weeks, days even. And even if this game is fully revamped to the "Definitive Experience" that Rockstar has envisioned for this version, at the end of the day; you're still buying a glorified 60$ Unreal Engine 4 bastardization of a beloved gaming trilogy with a somehow limited and weaker modding scene than its 20+ year old counterparts.

correct me if I'm wrong but things like auto climb and auto landing gear when planes are low seems to be gone

 

(but dancing minigames are still one prompt every 10 seconds lol)

That is a bummer; there are a few other problems, too.

I do hope VGD keeps patching these games. They're doing a good job so far and I'd love it if in a year or so we could actually look at these as good remasters.

I'm guessing all pool tables have this problem.

 

On a related note, did anyone check if they fixed the anachronisms, like the iFruit ads in San Andreas, and OG Loc's album in Vice City?

i did notice that they changed alot of the wheel models on cars, in SA they are alot more circular and higher poly than before, VC has a couple new models including a new wheel model on the banshee and III has alot of their texture work redone (although vehicle models in III are still terrible, especially the regular sentinel)

I mean it's still blurry 900p in performance mode, since it's PS4 Pro version running on PS5, and the games are still very heavy for some reason....

 

but yeah thanks for the patch, I like new colors in VC, 3 and Los Santos and Las Venturas, but I feel like SF is a bit too green (like Matrix) 

 

I still wish I could upgrade disc PS4 version to PS5 version to get much higher resolution in performance mode, Rockstar was one of the few publishers not to allow it.

they also removed the green filter in the weapon wheel (at least in san andreas), now it's grey, the radio stations icons have no colors anymore and still no blurry effect when using nitro in cars

Damn they ruined Vice City though with Classic lightning on. I will keep normal lightning for that one.

Look at the San Fierro picture by the water. You can't the deserty terrain with Classic On.

No way you prefer seeing the entirety of Vice City at any moment in weather that doesn't even look like actual cloudy or foggy weather. There's more proper timecycles in classic lighting mode, VC can have clear weather still.

Non-classic lighting looks nothing at all like an "iconic pink sky" either though. What iconic pink sky are you even talking about anyway, I'm not sure VC had entirely pink skies ever? SA did, on the other hand, purpleish-pink in some regions, which was mostly restored now.

Not for the whole night, but the Classic one doesn't have that Miami clear skies vibe for me. At least that's my preference atm.

That much fog was present in the original DE as well; they had some basic fog here and there.

 

The new patch on the current-gen consoles and PC added far more fog. The one on your last-gen console doesn't seem to have nearly enough of it, I will share a screenshot of the PC version after the latest patch:
