Wait, I wonder if it has to do with compatibility with the Netflix app itself? Some devices might not be compatible either due to having custom ROM's or any other reason such as regional restrictions. Because the $20 versions don't have Netflix's "DRM", they will be compatible instead.

Knowing R*, there's a depressingly realistic possibility that they will never bother to implement these improvements on other platforms. As such, I wonder how many of the fixes would be possible to implement on PC in the way of mods, via extracting the Android APKs' contents. Textures sound like a safe bet, but I'm not sure how feasible it would be (if at all) to bring over the under-the-hood changes like collision fixes or the classic lighting.

graphical is probably easier (DLSS, TAA, etc))

actually no.

not at all.

they replaced the entire renderer part of the engine for E&E.

so the graphical stuff is the most difficult part

Well, I wasn't optimistic and I still am not.

They probably won't release a patch for PC nor console because, as usual, Rockstar has serious issues and likes to just drop platforms and support.

- PC GTA V still doesn't have E&E enhancements (neither graphical nor gameplay wise, graphical is probably easier (DLSS, TAA, etc)). "But think of the modding and FiveM!!!11!"

Yeah, which they acquired, it takes *some* effort.

- GTA VI for PC.

- And now this =p.

Yes, I'm acting like Sean "Sour" Johnson but y'know :), someone's gotta do the criticism.

Don't forget the lack of RDR1 port for PC.

I have been messing around with Vice City for the last 30 minutes on my OnePlus 11, and I must say this is a pretty impressive port.

It looks nice, it plays nice, and the subtle changes made compared to the PC version bring the game closer to the original vibes. For example, Ken Rosenberg looks a bit older in this version, and somehow more detailed in the face than the PC version.

I also love the fact they have a resolution scaling bar you can tap on, and while I have not had any deep test with it, it looks like you can pick the kind of experience you want (higher res is more similar to a fidelity mode on console, and lower res is similar to a performance mode).
Great job to Video Games Deluxe for taking the good parts of the DE made by GSG and bringing it to a new level. It took a few years, but this is finally a good way to enjoy these games, and being able to do so on the go is an extra nice touch.

modders who could get sh*t done were sued by take two, so interest in classic gta modding is an all time low these days

either rockstar/whoever did this release patches on pc/gen 9 or it's gonna stay on mobile

Two Dev teams later and the atmosphere is finally different between the games, gonna be digging into these when I get home.

Was the music not playing inside any strip clubs in San Andreas? I remember there was a bug where the clubs were silent.

I am asking because I can hear songs at the Pig Pen club now.

I'm just saying it doesn't have Netflix's own stuff in the non-Netflix version. For obvious reasons.

Do the characters still look like children's play dough?

If they don't change that, the game will still be a big piece of dog sh*t.

There are changes to the models, and more specifically lighting. As mentioned in my post earlier, Ken Rosenberg looks a bit older in the face. The faces of the protagonists don't have this weird ultra shine they had on the previous versions. Tommy's arms, especially, don't look like oily sausages anymore lol

I mean, how hard would it be to implement TAA/DLSS into grcore's DX11 rendering stack?

At least something, right?
Anyway, going off-topic now.

OT:
Definitely a bit on the green side (SA) but yeah, this is a great example on how a proper development team can change everything.

No way they keep these changes on mobile only, right? These are some really nice improvements. I mean, better late than never. But surely they'll release them in a patch for PC & console, right? :lmaokek:

I think this is very Rockstar. They have people double dip when the PC version of their games comes out, and now they have people triple dip, buying a new version on mobile for the real definitive versions lol

You have to be kidding me, instead of fixing the non-rotating Sprunk bottle, they simply removed it.

Seeing a couple night time shots but they're with Classic Lighting Off (maybe the first one with the explosion is On but there's an explosion), I wonder how Classic Lighting at night looks in SA?
