I'm just counting down to December 1st personally. Whether it happens on or after remains to be seen, but at least in my mind I feel like I'm killing time.

Interesting that gtavi.com no longer sends you an error page, and now just being stuck on loading in the site👀

In my profile I put 3 countdowns in the "About me" section, because I still can't insert the signature under my posts, I don't know how to do it!
one leading up to December 1, 2023
one leading up to December 7, 2023 for the games awards on American time (California)
one leading to December 7, 2023 for the games awards with Central European Time

I know nothing about how traffic and servers on the internet's side of things so, if I sound like an idiot it's probably because I am an idiot, however, I'm genuinely curious; The reveal for the next GTA is going to be massive, that's a no brainer, but, could it actually be big enough there's too much traffic of people on YouTube to see the reveal that it crashes the site entirely? I think I've heard counts of YouTube going down before in the past, but nothing too major in the past really, though with GTA 6...Just something I've been wondering 😛

I'm sure Twitter/X will go down for a little bit when the reveal comes but likely would be back up in a while later, but YouTube is my main question...but probably not though, right?

Alexandra Echavarri is not Lucia and was indeed Lupe from GTA Online...

Well damn, I guess that ties that loose end up. So, we really don't know who either of the protagonists' voice actors are now eh?

Leslie Lluvet could still be a candidate here for Lucia

Really hope the villain in this next GTA game memorable. I want the villain the most despicable, vilest, evil piece of sh*t ever, but actually have valid reasons to do evil act.

We got too cocky

that’s a big load of cap. If you think A DLC for a semi popular dark souls rip off is more coveted than the most highly sought after piece of media in existence, you’re smoking 100% pure Grade-A columbian my friend

What if R* end up revealing in december is GTA 5 10th Anniversary Edition instead?

Stock plummet. But obviously that wouldn’t happen lol

Youtube wont go down. Google literally mitigated the biggest DDOS attack like a month ago without even batting an eye. X might slow down but dont expect it to be unreachable.

Oh, Really? Didn't know about that! Thanks for the info! Makes sense though, I actually honest to god forgot YouTube is owned by Google anymore.

No, it's possible certain nodes will get hit heavily but YT won't go down with it.

So a darker Nico Belic. sounds ok tho i think we are going to get a different type of character. I don't see either of these two being evil tho more of going with the flow. Then ending up in the sh*t and over there heads with it all. I guess. But Evil no.

Not the protagonists, the antagonists should be evil. That’s what I assume he was trying to say.

I know we are excited for GTAVI reveal but there is no reason to sh*t on other games

In the "leaks" analysis thread. It's most likely nothing and just some drama over someone being not only highly irresponsible if true, but also potentially spreading fake sh*t just for engagement. Belongs in this thread and has already been discussed and debunked:

Not to start anything, and if it’s inappropriate to ask just delete my post entirely. But im wondering this is the same source that claimed we’ll get a small “festive surprise update” right? So is this also “spreading fake sht just for engagement” or is it most likely true? Should we even believe anything they say at this point or not?

It’s not my intention to sh*t on other games, but the comparison is like comparing your grandmas cooking to Gordon Ramsay’s. Neither is bad, but they’re incomparable due to the expertise and dedication required to create one over the other. It’s just silly to compare them, or even the levels of anticipation they have each respectively accrued. It’s incomparable.

Remember the news that someone’s wife was talking about the details of the trailer and the song. I think this is absolutely incorrect information, I am sure that the song from the new part of GTA will be the one we have never heard, and this will be its peculiarity. They want to exceed our expectations and not live up to them.

I'm wondering, why did R* tease the game in such an unusual way?

Did they want to get it partially out of the way before the call so they can talk about it with investors?

If so, will they do a "proper" announcement before the trailer? (like they did with RDR2, for example).

If not, why do it this way?

Definitely a song my parents will recognise.

I had a thought today while driving my bus (I’m an MTA Bus Operator here in NYC, I drive the M60+Select Bus from Columbia University to LaGuardia Airport), what if the trailer is shown at the game awards. I got goosebumps of thinking about Geoff saying “But before we go , as I told you earlier tonight we have something beyond your imagination to show you. Now I could introduce it to you but I think this man and the rest of his legendary team should do the honor…”

…..Sam Houser and his colleagues walk on stage, as a huge black and white R* logo fades on to the screens in the back..

Sam : “Thank you…and we love you all.”

GTA VI Trailer begins.

Johnny GTA Watson

My mate went to the original Vice City launch party in Edinburgh and  swiped one of the fabled coke mirrors for me.

I've still got it.

I wonder what cool promo stuff is coming this time? 🤔

is SP DLC really that unlikely? i thought reduced base game scope + expansions was one of their anti-crunch measures.

Not really when you factor in that a SP DLC was considered for every title since GTA IV. Except, GTAV & RDR2 were never followed thru due to the focus on online and work already starting on the next title.

I don't see why Rockstar wouldn't repeat the same pattern with VI and then decide whether to cut or follow through. But this time, they may do the latter.

And it's more of episodic content, aka expansions, than a singular SP DLC. They can do them yearly or biyearly. Which would help reduce crunch.

In the end though, the ROI on an online update is just much higher compared to a SP DLC… unfortunately.
