(CEO’s luxury car, Tokyo - 2023) CEO: You seem a bit nervous, you don’t have to. It’s a great day for you Kage. (Silence) Well, I’ve noticed that you are working really hard lately and this made me reconsider my vision about you - that’s why I brought you here. Kage: Huh… I mean, I appreciate that… (Interruption - Message in CEO’s phone) CEO: Excuse me Kage. Can you wait here a bit, please? (Expression for “yes”, “sure” from Kage) CEO: I’ll be back in a while. CEO leaves the place and Kage waits patiently. (Interruption - Police officer knocks the window) P.O.: Don’t pretend that you ‘re asleep, open the window now! (Kage is confused - P.O. aims at him with his gun) P.O.: Do you see that? It will blow up that f*cking head if you don’t open! Now! (Kage opens the window) P.O.: Show me your papers! Kage: Sir… P.O.: I said show me your papers! Open the cabinet now and give them to me slowly. (Kage opens the cabinet - Notices that he appears as the owner of this car!) (Interruption - Another police officer is searching the trunk and shouts) P.O.2: Sir, I think we got him. It must be more than 8 kg. (P.O. goes carefully to check the trunk) (Kage is confused - He notices a pistol in the back side of the cabinet and grabs it) Help Dialogues: Use (R) to move the aim camera. Aim at the police officer. Once he aims at him: Press R2 to shoot. Cutscene: The officer is severely injured. Kage starts to run away from the crime scene. Press A to sprint. The stars on the top right indicate that you have a wanted level. Steal a car. Once he gets in a car: Lose the cops. Press R2 to accelerate and L2 to brake. You can aim with your weapon with L1 and shoot with R1. Once he loses the cops: Drive back to the safehouse. Mission fails if: - The officer notices Kage aiming at him - Kage dies MISSION 1 - Exile Kage wakes up tired and opens the television. The incident of the last night is a main story everywhere in the media. Realises he’s in danger. (Kage’s safehouse - Tokyo, 2023) (Ringtone) Kage: Yes, mom, can you hear me? K.M.: (Silence) What’s all that in the news son? Is it a nightmare? It can’t be true! Kage: Mom, don’t worry. Everything is under control. K.M.: (Cry, Scream) Why? Just why? Tell me! Kage: (Silence) Mom, stay strong. I have to close. He destroys his phone and leaves the house only with a jacket and some cash. Jun visits a website of the dark web and notices something unusual. She has to leave immediately. Help Dialogues: In the minimap, with (car icon) is marked your personal vehicle. Get in your car. Once she enters the car: Drive to the waypoint. Once she reaches the marker: She grabs her binoculars, looks at the sea and notices something that seems important. Kage is in a boat with a weird older man who seems to feel an unjustified happiness. (In a boat - Korea’s east coast, 2023) Weirdo: (Laughs a bit) To be honest, I was shocked when I saw your call. I said “no way”. (Smiles) Kage: (Silence) Weirdo: Every new beginning is hard but in your case must be necessary… Kage: (Looks at him with a mad sight) Weirdo: (Laughs a bit) Okay, okay, I’m shutting the f*ck up. However you like… The boat reaches the shore and Kage leaves the place. Help Dialogues: Follow Kage but don’t get too close! Once Kage enters the motel: Find a way in without triggering the guard’s attention. The door is locked. Find a way into the motel’s private area. A company of individuals can be heard exiting the private area. Once she takes advantage of the situation and gets in: Kage’s room is upstairs. Find it. Once she finds the room: Jun grabs her knife and threatens Kage. He’s in shock. (Motel Room of Kage, Seoul - 2023) Jun: I don’t want to harm you. Just get in and sit down. I’ll explain everything. Kage takes a step back and enters his room. Jun closes the door and puts down the knife. Jun: I know about you and I can help you. Kage: (Shock - Sweat) Jun: …You don’t have to worry. I’m sorry about the knife, let me explain… I know your boss. Kage: (Looks stunned and worried) Jun: I’m not his agent… (Grabs a picture) Look! Here is my dad with your boss. He used to work for him in 2007. (Grabs an item) Here is his employee id. Kage: (Silence) Jun: Everything was seemingly alright. He had a job offer in Japan and left to feed his family. We used to talk on the phone every night, no matter what. Until, one day my dad wasn’t responding… In the next morning… he knocked our door. He had no personal belongings with him, his clothes were almost destroyed and he looked physically harmed all over his body. (Silence) Jun: My dad started getting paranoid. He was shouting randomly during the day. He had never drunk a bit of alcohol in his life, but he somehow managed to become alcoholic out of nowhere… Finally, I woke up one day to find out a letter without a specified sender that said “DO IT”. (Silence) Jun: My dad never returned. Kage: (Confused) Jun: (Starts crying) I’m sorry. Kage: How did you find out about me? Jun: My dad used the same way to return to Korea as a fugitive… I know his website [of the weirdo]. He does this sh*tty job since he was young. He has made a fortune. I did my… research and your name popped up. “Employee of the month - January”. My worst fear came true. You ‘re one more victim… This has to stop. I’m here with you to stop that bastard. Effect: Kage now has an arrest warrant in Japan and he can’t return. If he returns he will be chased with a 5-star wanted level. Both Kage and Jun are now playable characters. Guest
New concept thread? New concept thread! Can't remember the last time our forum have a concept sets in Asia. You almost forget to add the Concept tag, do it now! I wish you can specify the settings more, like what city in Korea or Japan is featured? What's the condition of the social and crime environments there? Is there any countryside? And I'd recommend to split the "prologue" and "mission 1 - exile" to separate posts. Use this first main post for contents: introduction and story premise, list of settings, characters, maybe gameplay and radio stations later on. Promising start already, you can go far. Come visit us over the lounge if you have questions or need a help Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/993657-grand-theft-auto-west-pacific-concept/#findComment-1072251013 Share on other sites
Stagnant09
MISSION 2 - Nostalgia After a crazy series of events, now Kage finally has the opportunity to rest and think. He doesn’t have many belongings with him. He has saved, though, an old photograph in his wallet. It was 2007. He had just bought his first motorbike after years of keeping savings. It was the first time ever that he would do something crazy… He had just decided to join a race. (Metropolitan RTE 450 - Tokyo, 2007) Help Dialogues: Drive through the waypoints and win the race. Once the race ends: Camera shifts focus to a company of young individuals on their motorbikes who apparently have some clash. (Metropolitan RTE 450 - Tokyo, 2007) A young male: Listen you stupid b*tch, I paid a fortune for this! I need some thousands to fix it. You either give them to me or you will never be able to ride a bike again! You won’t be able to walk again, am I clear? (Setsuko grabs a pistol) Setsuko: Get the f*ck out of here! Now! (The young male and his company laugh at her reaction. They are trying to say something but she executes them in cold blood) Help Dialogues: Lose the cops. Once she loses the cops: It’s 2023. Setsuko is in the hub of her motorcycle club and holds some old photographs of herself with her first bikes back in her 20’s. Some of them make her smile. She decides to rest. Effect: Setsuko is now a playable character. Free roam is available in Japan. Stagnant09
MISSION 3 - Top Classified Kage receives a text message from an unknown sender. “Find me, you know where”. Help Dialogues: Drive to the Super Cafe store. Once he reaches the marker: Jun is already in the coffee shop, sitting in a somewhat isolated table. Kage approaches and takes a seat. (Super Cafe store - Seoul, 2023) Jun: (Silence) Kage: What’s the matter? Jun: I need your help. Kage: (Silence) Jun: (Shows a website) This is the drug trafficking site your ex boss uses to promote his product. Kage: How can we be sure about that? Jun: (Grabs an item) I found this in my father’s belongings. Notice this logo… and this name. Kage: (Looks stunned) Jun: I managed to contact an anonymous profile of the website and I set an arrangement. I think that there might be something. Kage: Are you really going to meet this guy? Jun: Yes… and this is why I need your help. Kage: (Worried) Jun: We must abduct him. Then, we ‘ll force him to tell us everything we want. Kage: How… how are we going to do that? Jun: Look… I admit that I have no idea how is this going to turn out. So we must prepare for all cases. (Silence) Jun: We have to buy some guns first. Kage: (Stunned, worried) Jun: We have no choice. This is our only chance to grab some intel. Help Dialogues: Get in your car. Wait for Jun. Drive to the gun store. (Kage's car - Seoul, 2023) Kage: May I ask how did your find that website? Jun: (Silence) I search every possible detail that might be useful. And, trust me, I’ve discovered so much that made me hate your ex boss even more. I think that he’s the worst man in the entire West Pacific definitely. (Silence) Jun: And, I repeat, if we don’t get rid of him, then he will get rid of both of us. He have no option. Kage: Does he know about you? Jun: Of course he does. He knows I’m searching him. He blackmails me once in a while. I’ve also noticed weird black cars following me in some cases. They tried to kill me once but they didn’t make it. I managed to escape. Once they reach the marker: You can visit the gun store to purchase new weapons and ammunition. Purchase a SMG and a Sniper Rifle. Once he purchases the weapons: Drive to the meeting point. Once they reach the meeting point: Go up to the rooftop. Kage reaches a rooftop and aims around Jun with his sniper rifle. Help Dialogues: Use (L) to zoom in and out. Use (R) to move the aim camera. The more you try to zoom in the harder it gets for a stable aim. Wait for the dealer to arrive. Once the dealer arrives with his gang: (Shots fired) Kage: Oh sh*t, it’s an ambush! Help Dialogues: Execute the dealer and his colleagues. Once they are all dead: Get in the car and wait for Jun. Leave the area. The dealer’s gang continues to chase them as long as they don’t move away. Effect: - Both Kage and Jun have a “hunted” status - there are regions that have a high risk if they are entered - the drug dealing company may start chasing them. - The gun store is available in free roam. Akaviri
Very original idea and I like the protagonist concepts. Very much alternative to what we are used to playing as. Two female leads is also ambitious in that regard. The only man we can choose is one truly is starting from scratch with a clear conscience, rather than a guns blazing methhead or an established gangster. Jezus Holy Christ
You've absolutely nailed that Asian crime movie vibe. It’s a text message; its source is unknown. It contains an address and nothing more. Help Dialogues: Get on your bike. Drive to the waypoint. Once she reaches the marker: An individual approaches her. A male: It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Good to see you again though. Setsuko: (Silence) M.: Hmm… You certainly know who I am. So, you can stop pretending. (Silence) M.: Okay, then. I’m getting straight to the point… Your father has a message for you. Setsuko: It’s been more than 16 years since the last time that he had to say something. Why now? M. : I have no idea, actually. (Grabs item) Here is your private letter. (He’s about to leave) Oh… I almost forgot. I remind you that this meeting never happened and I don’t exist. The letter has no content but another address. Help Dialogues: Get on your bike. Drive to the waypoint. Once she reaches the marker: (Abandoned Factory - Japan, 2023) Help Dialogues: Knock-out the guards. Enter the building. (More guards appear) Once they are all dead: An old male: So, apparently… you made it! I didn’t expect less, to be honest. (Silence) O.M.: You haven’t changed at all, really. Setsuko: Why now? O.M.: Well, the timing doesn’t matter. What really matters is that we are together again. (Silence) O.M.: I know that you have so many questions… But I promise that all of them will be answered eventually… In the meanwhile, I have… an offer. A job offer for you. Setsuko: (Ironic smile) O.M.: I mean it, girl. Wouldn’t it be great you and I to work together? (Silence) O.M.: Here is my suggestion: I will answer any question you want under one term: you will do a task for me each time. Setsuko: (Ironic laugh) Me… for you? O.M.: If you help me in a specific job that is really important for me, I will clarify what you would like to know the most. Setsuko: (Stunned, mad) O.M.: But, not now. It’s too early. Stagnant09
MISSION 5 - Scratches Jun waits with a relative of her in his residense. (Silence) Dae-Ho: So… uhm… where did you meet… Could you repeat his name? Jun: He’s Kage. I met him online. Dae-Ho: And where is he from? Jun: He’s from Philippines. Dae-Ho: (Stunned) Woh… Interesting. Why did he move to Korea, though? Jun: Well, his country is poor and unstable. He had a job offer here, in Seoul, earlier this year. (Interruption - Somebody knocks the door - Jun opens) Jun: Hi… Here is my cousin, Dae-Ho. Kage: (Stressed) Jun: (Frustrated - She looks at Kage and makes a silent “calm”) Dae-Ho: (Confused for a second) Kage: (Shakes hand) Nice to meet you, Dae-Ho. Dae-Ho: (Confused) Nice to meet you, too… Are you alright, Kage? Kage: Yes, nevermind. Dae-Ho: Please, come in. Have a seat. (Everybody sits down) Dae-Ho: Jun told me earlier you ‘re from Philippines. Well, I’ve been there a couple of times, it has a really nice landscape, to be honest. From which place of Philippines are you Kage, if it’s not too private? Kage, Jun: (Confused) Kage: I’m from a town nearby Maynila, the capital. Dae-Ho: I’ve been in Maynila about a decade ago. To be fair, I would choose to migrate like you. You ‘re an actuary, right? Kage: Yes, of course. Dae-Ho: It must be hard. I never liked numbers and all this stuff… (Smiles) Kage: Whatever pleases you, Dae-Ho. Dae-Ho: Time flies apparently. How about showing you your room? Kage: Sure. All of them enter the room. There is a large “Boycott Japan” shirt attatched to the wall. Kage is worried and looks stunned at Jun. Dae-Ho: Well, here it is. I hope you like it! I have to go, now. Jun, see you later. Dae-Ho leaves and closes the door. Kage: What’s wrong with him? I mean… Jun: I’m so sorry, okay, but he was the only one that would do this favor… Kage, look, I know things aren’t going as planned, but… Kage: …As planned? (Frustrated) … I’ve had a chance and I missed it because I believed… Jun: Believed what? Did you really believe that all this has no risk at all? Or did you believe that you could hide from him? He’s everywhere… (Silence) Jun: Kage, please be rational. (Grabs the T-shirt) This will get the boot. Kage: Wait, hold on, he will find out! Jun: I’ll just tell him I really like that shirt and I wanted to keep it for myself. He won’t care, trust me. Kage: The last time I trusted you… Jun: Kage, stop, for real!… I have to go. Please, don’t do anything weird, okay? Kage: (Silence) Jun leaves. Help dialogues: Get in your car. Drive to the waypoint. Once she reaches the waypoint: A payphone is ringing. Jun answers the call. (Telephone Station - Seoul, 2023) Jun: (Silence) Hello?… Hello? A robotic deep voice: 9… 1… 6… 0… 3… 5 Jun terminates the call. Help dialogues: Get in your car. Drive to the waypoint. Once she reaches the waypoint: Help dialogues: Find a way into the building. (Some guards can be noticed) Avoid the guards. (A door needs a password to open and is protected by a guard) Grab and throw a stone at the marker to distract the guard. Approach an item and press (L) twice to grab it. Then, you can throw it with (R2). Guard: What the f*ck was that? (Leaves and approaches the stone) Help Dialogues: Use the password given earlier in the call to open the door. Press (right keypad) to use the device. Once the door is open: (An alarm starts ringing like crazy - That password must be some kind of a trigger) (Guards storm the place) Help Dialogues: Leave the area. Once she exits the front door: A guard points at the head of Jun with his pistol and shouts. She stops running. Guard: Don’t do anything stupid. Just follow me. The guard opens a rear door of his black car and orders Jun to get in. Akaviri
Pretty good man, keep it up. I only have one suggestion for now. Could you link a picture to the characters name in the beginning of their dialog? I like to visualize what they look like during the conversations. Something like this: Quote Dae-Ho: So… uhm… where did you meet… Could you repeat his name? Jun: He’s Kage. I met him online. Dae-Ho: And where is he from? Jun: He’s from Philippines. Stagnant09
MISSION 6 - Total War | Chapter I (requires at least 2 out of 4 side-quests to be completed by Setsuko) Jun finds it hard to wake up in a basement. She’s tied in a half-broken chair in the middle of nowhere. She can’t tell for how many days, weeks, even months she has been locked in there. There is no sunlight, no windows at all. Accidentally, she kicks a glass and breaks it. The noise can be heard in the whole building. (Basement - Unknown Location, 2023) (A male with a fullface opens the door and enters the basement) M.: Did you do that? (Shouts, he grabs his pistol and he is about to beat her in the head) Jun: (Is chilled, starts crying) M.: Did you?… Look at me! Look! Look at this pistol. I will kick your f*cking brain out with this thing unless you shut the f*ck up. (A phone starts ringing) M.: Who is it?… (Looks at Jun) It’s your cousin. You gonna tell him that everything is alright, otherwise I’ll cut your ear. Jun: (Breaths heavily - Finds it hard to say a word) Cousin… It’s me. Dae-Ho: Jun, where are you? Who are these people? Did they beat you? M.: (Makes a sign of cutting an ear) Jun: Dae-Ho, I’m alright. Everything will be fine. Just do what they ask. Dae-Ho: Jun, what do you mean? Those assholes are crazy, they want a mil- M.: Your cousin is alright. The conversation ends here. Call me before midnight when you get the money. (Terminates the call) (Dae-Ho’s residense - Seoul, 2023) Dae-Ho: f*ck! f*ck! f*ck! (Grabs a device and throws it to the floor) f*ck!… (Worried, looks at Kage) If you know anything about this sh*t… I will kill you! I swear. Kage: (Worried) I have no idea who they are. Dae-Ho: They want 1 billion KRW [=Korean Won, about 750,000 USD]. I hardly make it for the month, for f*ck’s sake! Where am I going to find all this money? Kage: (Silence) I think that we can track their location. Dae-Ho: The f*ck are you saying? How are we going to do that? Kage: Do you have her laptop? Dae-Ho: (Confused) (Frustrated) …It’s in the suitcase. Kage: (Opens the suitcase, grabs the laptop, opens it, there is a password box) Which is her birthday? Dae-Ho: May 20th. (Kage types the date but it’s a wrong guess) Dae-Ho: Try my uncle’s birthday. January 2nd 1970. (Access granted) (They search her browser history, emails, everything…) Kage: Hey, Dae-Ho. Take a look. (There is an address of a meeting point, apparently) Dae-Ho: We have to go there now! And ask everybody around about her. Help Dialogues: Get in your car and wait for Dae-Ho. Once Dae-Ho enters the car: Drive to the waypoint. (Kage’s car - Seoul, 2023) Dae-Ho: Once we find those bastards I will torture them and then execute them. Once they reach the waypoint: A food stall can be seen, somebody is there. He might know something. (Food Stall - Seoul, 2023) Dae-Ho: Hello, sir. Can I ask you something? Owner [of the food stall]: Sure, bring it on. Dae-Ho: Did you notice anything weird lately in this neighborhood? Like… weird faces or vehicles? Owner: (Stunned) Are you cops? Dae-Ho: No, we ‘re civilians and there is some-one in danger at this moment. So, I repeat, did you witness anything strange? Owner: (Worried) …I mean… Yeah. There was something unusual. A van moved at a really high speed, I though it would crash in my stall. Dae-Ho: Do you remember what time did this happen? Owner: Ah… in the afternoon, yesterday. Kage: Did you notice its plates? Owner: It had no plates at all, actually. But… I think that it had something written in Filipino in its back. Kage: Do you know its meaning? Owner: Ah… no, I’m sorry I’m not that good. (Dae-Ho, Kage look at each other) Kage: Alright, sir, thank you. Good evening. Help Dialogues: Get in your car and wait for Dae-Ho. Once Dae-Ho enters the car: Drive to the waypoint. (Kage’s car - Seoul, 2023) Dae-Ho: You, asshole! You are involved in this sh*t! Kage: Shut… the f*ck… up. For real. Dae-Ho: You suddenly meet my cousin online and now she’s disappeared in your homeland. Who are you escaping from Kage? Who? Who chased you and now has my cousin in a f*cking basement in the middle of nowhere? Kage: I’m not from Philippines. Dae-Ho: (Stunned) What? Kage: I’m Japanese. Jun didn’t tell you because you hate us. Dae-Ho: No, how did she… Kage: We are both chasing the man that your uncle worked for. Dae-Ho: (Stunned) And why didn’t she tell me all this time? Kage: Because she was worried, obviously. You would try to stop her. Dae-Ho: Of course I would!… Holy s… This man is completely out of control, she can’t win. (Worried) Dae-Ho: How did you get involved in this sh*t, too, uh? Kage: I was his employee, I had a career and he tried to imprison me instead of him when he was about to be caught. Then I travelled illegally to Korea. Your cousin found me. Dae-Ho: She’s crazy as always. (Shots can be heard) Dae-Ho: What the hell was that? Kage: It must be them. Help Dialogues: Kill the gang members. Kage: (Holds a pistol) Grab this. I can’t focus both on the road and them. Switch to Dae-Ho. Once multiple gang members die: A SUV pops up out of nowhere. Kage can’t do anything to avoid the car crash. Setsuko leaves the SUV, she points at Dae-Ho and executes him. Then, she orders Kage who’s wounded to enter her car. Setsuko: You come with me. Effect: Free roam is unavailable. Story mode advances directly to Mission 7. Mission fails if: - Kage dies - Dae-Ho dies (before the final cutscene) Jezus Holy Christ 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/993657-grand-theft-auto-west-pacific-concept/#findComment-1072307064 Share on other sites
Stagnant09
Gameplay and Features Wanted System - Police - Map Limits The maximum stars are five (5). Though, there is also an arrest warrant is special cases. In practise, it is too risky to enter an area full of cops or/and cameras or/and large crowds. If you try to go way too north you will hear a warning that you 're violating the North Korean airspace/territorial waters and a cruise missile will hit you afterwards. No chance for survival in this case. In any other case you will hear a standard warning in English that you 're entering a restricted area and you will be respawned somewhere else with a 5-star wanted level. Escaping from a country to another is a way to get rid of the wanted level, except from special cases that there might be an Interpol arrest warrant. In the airports, though, there is a quick border control in which there is a (random) chance to get you busted even for the slightest crime. You are not allowed to carry any weapons or explosives during commercial flights. There is a different treatment from the local policemen depending if you are in your homeland or not. Camera Introduction of the bodycam. It can be accessed by pressing (O / B) while holding (L). It includes options of visual effects such as night vision, analog horror mode and more. Its use is really cool during myth/easter egg hunting and various action operations, even typical police chases in free roam. Also, introduction of the drone camera that can be accessed when the necessary equipment is possessed. It can also be recording, while you use another camera, so that you can create cinematic clips (e.g. while racing). It is a more advanced and customizable edition of the cinematic camera of GTA V. Vehicles Option for advanced gore representations in car crashes. Modern cars may have automatic brakes and even self-driving features. Option for manual transmission, use of the clutch (with proper animations) and finite amount of fuel. Extreme violations of the traffic laws may cause an increase of the wanted level (such us violating speed limits, or red lights). Speedometers in highways. If you are on a bike, the type of the helmet you wear matters - the survival rate varies. You can become a professional pilot in commercial flights as a way of making income. Japan and Solomon Islands have left-hand traffic, unlike Philippines and South Korea. The type of the vehicle (LHD, RHD) matters for the difficulty level of driving. Japan has trains of really high speed that can be used. Jun is apologetic after a car crash, unlike Kage who is neutral and Setsuko who is frustrated. Weapons and Injuries Your physical and mental state affect your aiming. Weapons can be damaged by other weapons. An injury in a leg reduces the moving capability and an injure in the hand the stable aiming capability. Option for mandatory hospitalization after heavy injuries (no automatic healing). Carrying a weapon in front of crowds and policemen triggers an increase of the wanted level. Abandoned Buildings Option for urban exploration, violating various abandoned buildings by breaking doors and locks. Option to set ablaze small such buildings and fully destroy them. Military There are military bases belonging to the countries of the setting and, also, some American military bases. That police raid scene made some of us theorize of a cop protagonist. I believe it's merely a clip from in-game cutscene or TV show. But as a gameplay feature, it's gonna be a great innovation, it's first-person experience but more immersive. There are several games that feature this, mostly in the horror-survival genre, but also in the action genre. Also, it is a trend in movies/series to display at least a part of the film from a digital or analog camera point of view instead of a casual first person point of view (e.g. Archive 81, The Dropout). I'm combining this with other features present in GTA titles like the night-vision. Another cool effect could be drops on the camera when it's rainy or glass breaking when the camera is shot - effects like these can be found in GTA V mods. Stagnant09
Warning: Graphic Descriptions MISSION 7 - But Sun Didn’t Rise “When I was young, I was told that the universe has a way, beyond our senses and our mental horizon, to fix all injustice… My mom really believed in this, so each time she caught me mistreating somebody she forced me to somehow rectify. The thing is, that you can’t always just undo your actions. To be exact, there is no “undo”, but we like, we choose to believe that there is, because we can be so weak and so helpless that only our imagination can create hope. My mom was weak, really weak. She didn’t stand a chance in this cruel world… And she realized this in the worst way possible.” Tsuruga, Japan A family is about to start dining, but someone is still absent. (CEO’s main residense - Tsuruga, Japan, 2007) CEO: Girl, why aren’t you eating? Setsuko: Where is mom? CEO: (Frustrated) Always the same questions… She will return sooner or later, calm down. (A phone starts vibrating) CEO: Excuse me for a moment. (Goes outside) (Setsuko secretly follows him) CEO: …What did you just say asshole? Listen carefully, if you even dare to make even a scrat- …Shut up, this is my last warning. No-one dares to harm me or my family because everybody knows the consequences. Release her now, right now! (Screams can be heard in the phonecall) CEO: Son of bitch, stop what you ‘re doing, you ‘re f*cking dead, you hear me? I’ll bury you alive! Stop! Now! CEO closes terminates the call and leaves the area with his luxury car. Help Dialogues: Get on your bike and follow your father but don’t get too close! Once they reach the building: Leave your bike and follow your father into the building. A woman can be seen butchered to death with a chainsaw that now lies right next to her. Setsuko stands in a wall hiding from her father who approaches her body. CEO: (Shouts) Noo!! No! How could he… (Starts crying and cursing) The father leaves the area shortly after the incident with his luxury car. Setsuko approaches her mother’s dead body. Starts crying. She’s shocked and inconsolable. Suddenly, steps can be heard in the building. (Shots can be heard. The murderer is still inside and holds a pistol.) Help Dialogues: Use the walls to cover yourself with R1. Once she has successfully been covered for a while: He has run out of bullets. Grab that chainsaw! Once she grabs the chainsaw: Approach the murderer and execute him. Hold L2 to aim with the chainsaw and R2 to attack. Setsuko executes the murderer, grabs his pistol and exits the building. Leave the area. You can see in the bar that your mental sharpness is low. This means that you must drive more carefully than usual. Return home. Once she returns: There is nobody at home. Setsuko breaks glasses and other valuable items and, then, she sets ablaze pictures of her father. There is no reason to stay there any more, so she takes some personal belongings and leaves. Mission fails if: - Setsuko dies - Setsuko gets too close or too far away from her father ■ ■ ■ MISSION 8 - Total War | Chapter II Kage wakes up in an unknown place, he can just hear the noise of some machines. He opens the door and realizes that he’s on a boat in the middle of nowhere during a cold night. (Boat - Unknown Location, 2023) Setsuko: Up here! (Kage is confused) Setsuko: We ’ll arrive in a while. Kage: Who are you? Where are we? Setsuko: Are you always so serious? Relax. Kage: Where are my belongings? Setsuko: (Silence) …Maybe some fish ate them… Oops! Kage: f*ck! What do you want from me, uh? Setsuko: I will explain everything really soon. For now, relax and enjoy the trip. Kage: (Frustrated) The sun starts to rise and they are about to reach a coast in Philippines. Help Dialogues: Enter the SUV. Once they both enter the SUV: Drive to the waypoint. Setsuko: What are you looking at? Kage: So, you are not going to tell me who the f*ck are you? Setsuko: I’m a motorcycle fanatic… Kage: (Frustrated) Setsuko: …Oh, and I’m the daughter of your beloved former boss. (Ironic laugh) Kage: Then, why didn’t you kill me? Setsuko: Because those are my orders. I’m working for my daddy lately. He wants both of you alive. Kage: …You mean… Setsuko: You and that Korean girl. Once they reach the marker: Setsuko points at Kage with a gun and orders him to enter the building. There are several guards around. They reach the basement. Jun is still there tied in a chair. Another empty chair is placed for Kage, this time. (Setsuko calls her dad) Setsuko: Hello, boss. Job done. CEO: Great! Great! Now… start the livestream. Setsuko: Yeah, just give me a second. (Terminates the call) Setsuko grabs her pistol and executes the guard next to her. (Kage is confused) Setsuko: Untie her, quickly! Kage removes the clothing put in the head of Jun and unties her. Setsuko: (Holds two SMGs) Take this… And you, take this one. Jun: (Confused) Setsuko: We have to leave. Now! Help Dialogues: Take out the guards and escape. You can switch to any character. Once all the guards are dead: Setsuko: Get in the car. Jun is wounded. They leave the area. Effect: Free roam is available again for all characters. Kage and Jun own an SMG. Stagnant09
MISSION 9 - Deal Jun receives a text message. "In one hour." She instantly forwards it to Kage. Setsuko meets them in a quiet place in the east coast of Korea. Setsuko: We are not going to find such weaponry in legal stores. The authorities have been searching everything since what you did in that ambush. Kage, Jun: (Stunned) Setsuko: We 're lucky because my sources let me know about a gun van of the black market. We can find there everything that we need... Kage, Jun: (Look at each other) Setsuko: We must hurry up, though, so let's go. Help dialogues: Enter the SUV. Once they all enter the SUV: Drive to the gun van. Setsuko: I guess that you have a lot of questions. To be honest, I would have, too, in a similar situation. It's really hard to trust anybody when you end up betrayed all the time. Jun: At this point, you are the only reason that we are still alive. I guess that we have no option, but to trust you. Setsuko: (Silence) I used to trust people. I trusted my family more than anyone. Until... I searched our basement one day and found by accident my father's secret weapon suitcase... I was so shocked. I tried to tell my mom but she started to beat me once I mentioned that I had just been in the basement. Then, I was suspicious all the time. Suddenly, everything started to make sense. His weird behavior and schedule, and his obsession to not let me in the basement. Then, one day, my mother disappeared... Kage, Jun: (Shocked) Setsuko: She never returned. My father also left me. Jun: I'm sure that he was involved in the disappearence of your mother somehow. Setsuko: I believe so. But there is only one way to find out. Help Dialogues: Once they reach the marker: Leave the car and approach the van. Press (right keypad) to see the weapon's list. Once she interacts: Purchase a pistol with suppressor. Once she makes the purchase: Setsuko: Is this all that you got? Gun Dealer: (Stunned) Setsuko: I want another one. The gun dealer grabs another pistol with suppressor. Setsuko leaves and enters the SUV. Setsuko: You get this... and you this one. Help Dialogues: Drive to the waypoint. Setsuko: It's not too far away. We 're getting close. You can start to cover your faces. Kage and Jun wear their fullface masks. Once they reach the marker: A van can be seen near the sea. It's full of cargo. Some people who wear creepy blue masks load the product in a boat. They are about to leave. Use your new pistol to execute silently the traders. Once they are all dead: Setsuko, Kage and Jun all enter the boat. Go to the waypoint. (The waypoint lies somewhere north in the ocean) Once they reach the marker: Another boat can be seen. Someone from that boat: Here they are, finally! I didn't know that the boss started hiring women. (Laughs) Come on, let me see the product. (Jun gives him a package, then he opens it and takes a look) What is this sh*t? "Episode 1, 2, 3..." Where is the f*cking episode 6? I ordered the whole season, my customers are waiting for it! Do you have any idea of the damage that you have just created, you assholes? (Gives a signal to a guard next to him and he points at them with his weapon) Remove your masks now. Your boss will pay for this! Remove them! Help dialogues: Take cover and execute the traders. Switch to any character. Once they are all dead: Enter their boat. Setsuko starts searching all over the place for anything that could be important. She grabs all the phones and documents. Setsuko: (Looks at a document) Asshole! Kage: What is it? Setsuko: He trades snuff films. The missing episode 6... must have been the one that we prevented. It was supposed be you. Kage, Jun: (Stunned) Setsuko: ...What... what is this noise? (A group of boats can be seen approaching) Setsuko: f*ck! Those must be North Koreans. We have to leave! Kage, start the engine. Help Dialogues: Escape from the North Korean cops! Switch to any character. Once they lose the cops: Mission Passed. Mission fails if: Anyone from the characters dies. Stagnant09
*Note: Any similarities with real names, places and incidents is purely coincidental.* MISSION 10 – Greed “Power. Corruption. Greed. It takes just 3 words to describe this dark part of the upper class. There is nothing that you can do to change this. You have to play by the rules; their rules.“ After a long time, Jun can finally return “home”. But her cousin’s residence is missing its owner. She stares at some of the photos in the apartment. She opens her laptop while holding some findings from the stolen boat. (Dae-Ho’s residence – Seoul, 2023) Help Dialogues: Open the Web Browser and search ‘Gung Chin-Mae’. Various results pop up. Once she opens and reads all of them: Open the Safe Browser and browse your inbox. Find ‘chulche0’ in contacts. Attach the downloaded file. “Tell me everything you know about him.” After a while, she receives a response. “Here is everything that I could find. I hope it’s useful. Your favorite source.” ■■■ Help Dialogues: Get in your car. Drive to the waypoint. The waypoint lies next to a modern mansion, nearby Seoul. Sneak into the building. You can use your pistol to break locks. Somebody is at home and Jun can hear him. “Yeah… exactly. I’m going to bury that motherf*cker unless he stops what he’s doing. Nobody treats me like that. Does he know who am I? (Ironic laugh) …f*ck! f*ck! Not again. I have to close.” He grabs his keys and leaves. Find the office of the banker. Once she finds the office: Search for his USB drive and his digital access card. (There are also some cash around available to be collected.) Press ’A’ to grab the cash. Leave the area. Once she exits the room and goes downstairs: A man can be heard walking. Help Dialogues: Use the walls to cover yourself. Possible endings: 1. Jun gets away without being noticed. 2. Jun is noticed by the banker before leaving. In case #2, she receives an arrest warrant. Effect: Now, Jun owns a USB drive full of essential information regarding the “CEO”. Also, she owns a digital access card of the bank that the mansion’s owner works at. Mission fails if: - Jun dies. - Jun is noticed before accessing the interior of the mansion. - The banker dies. ■■■ MISSION 11 – Silent Heist (Requires a Mini Flamethrower in the inventory) One step at a time, Kage and Jun get closer to achieve their goal. “CEO” is about to be located, certainly somewhere in Japan. Though, Kage’s bank account is frozen and he’s running out of cash. He immediately needs a fake ID, so that he’s not tracked down by the law enforcement. (Abandoned building – Unknown Location, 2023) Kage: Let me see the access card. (Jun gives him the card) Kage: Look at his face. They all have the same innocent plain sight. “But he seemed to be a great person, a hard worker…”. f*cking assholes! (The door opens. Setsuko enters the building.) Setsuko: (Silence) Actually, I was amazed when you told me that you ‘re planning to rob a bank. I admire all this courage, to be honest… I’m in, of course. So, what’s the plan? Kage: Since you joined... here is the new plan: (Grabs a pen and draws something in the wall) You… stay in this spot…. And distract the officers. In the meantime, me and Jun will get in, grab the cash and wait for you out there to pick us up. Setsuko: Yes, sir!... Just kidding, nevermind. (Laughs) Kage: Do you have any suggestions, lady? Setsuko: Well… Just think about it for a moment. We are about to rob a bank. Not a random crummy grocery store, but a f*cking bank. Do you really believe that it’s going to be that easy to get away with it? A couple of minutes after the alarm is triggered the place will be stormed by cops carrying SMGs thirsty for blood. (Silence) Jun: How about getting a bulletproof fast car? Setsuko: (Elegant smile) Actually, we can do something crazier. Kage, Jun: (Worried) Setsuko: We can get a helicopter. Once you get the money, you reach the roof. I’ll be there with a helicopter, ready to leave. How about that? Kage, Jun: (Stunned, thinking) There are two options available: 1. Acquiring a bulletproof luxury car (Plan A) 2. Acquiring a helicopter. (Plan B) Help Dialogues: Press ‘A’ to proceed with Plan A or ‘B’ to proceed with Plan B. GETAWAY VEHICLE – PLAN A - OPTIONS: A parody of Trasco Aston Martin DB11. A parody of AddArmor Audi RS7. GETAWAY VEHICLE – PLAN B – OPTIONS: A Buzzard. A Maverick. (Kage) Locate and get a getaway vehicle. Once a getaway vehicle is obtained: Go to the waypoint. Once he reaches the marker: Kage finds Jun and Setsuko near the “Taepyeong-yang Eunhaeng” [태평양 은행 = Pacific Ocean Bank]. He and Jun approach the bank on foot. Several guards can be seen, while the bank is about to close. They reach a side of the bank. (Jun) Help Dialogues: You can use a flamethrower to violate security doors and vaults. Break the door. There are laser security beams. Press ‘L’ and ‘B’ to turn on and off the bodycam. Turn on the Laser Detection filter with (Up Keypad). Locate the access card box. Once she finds the box: Press (Right Keypad) to use the access card. Once the card is used: A timer appears. 05:00 The laser beams are turned off. Approach and break the vault. Once the vault is open: Collect the available cash and gold. Once all the valuable items are collected or the time is up: Go to the roof / Exit the building. [Depends on the option above] A siren starts to ring. Police officers start to storm the building. ✰✰✰✰✰ Locate Setsuko. Once Setsuko is found: Lose the cops. Switch to any character. Once they lose the cops: Setsuko: So, this was it. See you soon on the other side! Kage and Jun exit the vehicle and Setsuko leaves. Effect: The characters have gained about 657,425,000 KRW [=500,000 USD] in cash in total. Mission fails if: - Any of the characters dies or is spotted by an officer before entering the bank. - The getaway vehicle is destroyed before the beginning of the heist. *Note: Any similarities with real names, places and incidents is purely coincidental.* Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/993657-grand-theft-auto-west-pacific-concept/#findComment-1072329756 Share on other sites

Jezus Holy Christ
Just read through the rest of the story and I liked how tight-knit the characters and events were by the end. The structure reminded me of the IV episodes (lowkey I'd rather play something like this than TLaD cos I feel like the way things happened in this one made it easier to actually care about the characters), and I'm a sucker for flashbacks and hallucinations and dreams and stuff like that in videogames so I liked those aspects of it too. I guess the only thing I didn't get about the story was how and why the heist came to be, but everything else felt focused and connected. Well done. Stagnant09
On 1/26/2024 at 5:21 PM, Jezus Holy Christ said: I guess the only thing I didn't get about the story was how and why the heist came to be To be honest, the heist was indeed the most far-fetched part, but let's say that the goal was so important that taking this risk was worth it. It was the only way they had to get quickly a huge load of money so that they could survive for a long period of time (because none of the two at least had any income source at the time), purchase weapons, bribe the traffickers that helped them move out and the criminal network in Japan that provided Kage the new legit-looking but fake identification documents. Another not so important but legit slight motivation was that at the same time they were taking revenge against a smuggler, who co-operated with their main enemy, by robbing the bank using his own access card. The heist also is designed in a way that makes unnecessary both civilian and law enforcement casualties - by using an access card during the night and escaping with a bulletproof car, not by shooting the bank employees or cops, holding hostages and stuff like this - which is in accordance with the profiles/personalities/motivations of the protagonists.
