IV Higher Resolution Miscellaneous Pack

Higher resolution textures for a variety of things often forgot about in other packs

So What Is It?

This mod started out as something small and grew in size over the past few months, originally I wanted to improve weapon spec, which lead on to fixing other spec, and then normals, etc, before I decide to take a look at things like cutscene props, in-game props, minigames, etc. I noticed that a lot of "HD" map mods out there do not edit or change these so I thought it would be a good investment to go through these and bring the quality and variety up to scratch so not only can it be used with the original game to get a fidelity boost but to also compliment other HD Map projects out there.

 

In this pack you'll find that I have included texture upgrades for cutscene props (IV/TLAD/TBOGT), minigames (inc. bowling, pool, etc), procedural items (rubbish), pedestrian props (books, cans, newspapers, etc), generic props (too much to cover) and interiors (main focus being TBOGT here) bringing them up to a higher standard most people expect today, or at least remember how the game used to look 😛

 

So What's Included?

This ZIP file contains a folder for you to extract to your "update" folder, this folder includes multiple IMG files for IV, TLAD and TBOGT all split up into specific categories so you can omit specific things you do not wish to include (such as Weapon Spec if you have other weapon mods installed). Simply drag and drop to install this and that's all!

I found most of them in GTA IV itself, it appears when Rockstar did update textures they did not apply them to everything, and the cutscene props was one of the areas that missed out on things, so it was just the case of finding the matching textures from interiors and props and shifting the textures over to cutscene props for that one. Only a small chunk are from Max Payne 3 and GTAV this time, more had to be recreated (such as pedestrian props) and some do us upscales but with proper correction and fixes.

It’s really so good. The whole world looks way sharper just with your mod. The blurry streets and building are not recognizable that much anymore. Wow.

 

anyways I would love to see an updated pool texture. Are you planning on adding or is there any good mod available?

So What's Changed?

This update falls in line with the 15th Anniversary of The Lost & Damned, even though ironically not much has changed in that! The 1.1 update contains more files with updated textures, including areas such as Traffic Lights, Lamp Posts, Interior Props, Snack Vending Machines, Pool Tables and much more. The Ballad of Gay Tony also receives two additional interiors that now have higher resolution textures, they are Bahama Mamas and the Chinatown Arcade/Office site.

Ahh yes I forgot to mention that here, between the time I put out the first version and this version we found out that GTA IV has an IMG limit, so my previous way of packing into split IMGs to allow granular choice meant that it was bumping up the IMG number and taking away slots from other mods. As of 1.1 the entire thing is now just 4 IMGs (1xIV, 1xTLAD, 1xTBOGT & 1xWeapons), I've kept the weapons split because most players will most likely want to check out weapon mods at some point so now to remove the weapon changes it's just that IMG you can delete.

 

So if you are using a previous version of the mod via Fusion Fix Overloader, then it's recommended to delete the old version completely (or just delete all the files inside "Ash_HiRes_Misc") and then install the new version.

Yes, I've noticed the same later on, all TBOGT weapons will be included in the next update but for now you can just use the same textures as the IV one as they're identical.

So What's Changed?

Rounding off the end of 2024 I'm happy to release this new version of the High Resolution Miscellaneous pack for GTA IV/TLAD/TBOGT, this update does include some new stuff for IV and TLAD, mainly the updated street Newspaper vending which now have more variety and have been matched to the correct brands (meaning they all don't just have the same copy of the Liberty Tree now) but the main focus has been on TBOGT bringing the entire thing up to PC quality and beyond with a lot of work going into the interiors, here's a brief changelog of the main stuff:

Hey, your mod is great but i’m having a very odd and unfortunate issue that i was wondering if you could help me with. I am using the drag and drop archive that features this mod, to downgrade to 1.0.8.0. I have recently finally gotten all of the desired mods working in harmony with the pack, one of which being the HD IV weapons mod. I’m able to get the props and model textures etc working in game, although for some reason only when playing TBOGT, I begin to have that one weird issue where the buildings/roads disappear and certain assets won’t load or take longer to do so. 

 

I have narrowed this issue down to being caused by me deleting the img folder, which is titled to delete if using weapon mods (and certain weapon textures are white if i don’t). I experience these invisible world texture problems even if i have not yet installed the HD IV weapons mod and literally all i did was delete that folder and i cant figure out how to fix this so i can play through TBOGT with the weapon mod. This is especially weird because im able to add mods like The Hardcore Lost MC and Responsive Plus but if i keep the img it doesn’t have the texture problems even though those mods would have to be way more memory intensive than just a few extra gun skins (even though the problem comes from deleting the file) I’ve also tried doing this on a save without any of the previously mentioned mods but to no avail. Thank you for your time and help.

If memory serves, the fix for this should already be in "HQ Vanilla Ground Textures Revitalization".
