What order do you tackle the missions in (2023 edition)

Recommended Posts

Just curious. It's 2023, the games been out awhile, there's many guides on the net on optimal mission order, but what order do you tend to do the missions in today? Do you follow the order that the episodic DLC seems to suggest (For example, final interview seems to take place after three leaf clover according to news reports in TBOGT.. Deconstruction for beginners obviously takes place after the bank heist as well... Which means that Packies missions obviously occur fairly early on, before X, ULP and Francis.. I'll take her also takes place before museum piece, thanks to a throwaway line from Tony at the start of not so fast..)

So do you follow those guidelines, the timeline/sequence of events that the DLC seems to canonize.. or do you approach the story order in a different way, ignoring what the episodic DLC suggests?

cant remember

Unfortunately afaik no order is entirely perfect, there are some continuity errors if you put all the DLC events in order. Anyway..

I recently did a playthrough of all GTA's, and for GTA4 instead of doing GTA4, and the DLC's separately like you would do normally, I got a long mission list from somewhere, and tried to play them closer to GTA5-style. Eg. play a Niko mission, and if the next mission on the list was a Johny one, switch to Johny.

With the 2023 version of the game it's easier to do because you don't have to exit the game you can simply load the savegame of the other character.

But typically, if I'm just playing through the game normally, I just do my own thing really. I don't plan to play it again sticking rigidly to a mission order from a list.

Yeah I did a playthrough like that last year. Playing Niko, Johnny and Luis's stories simultaneously. Was epic and would definitely recommend any IV fan try it at least once.

It is a lot of effort tho... A lot of game loading, rechecking the order etc ( FYI used the possible Trinity list over in TBOGT Sub Forum) The story plays out like pulp fiction.. Minor problems like Luis and Johnny's character models not matching, and Jim not actually appearing in Vanilla IV, but that fat white biker guy... But it's still very immersive, particularly the diamond arc.

Yes...makes the game more enjoyable (I'm still on PS3).

I did the same, I even used Simple Native Trianer to spwan the other two charaters as bodyguards when playing each game, to make it  even closer to GTA5 style. I was also wondering if there are errors with the timeline but not knowing for sure until I saw your comment.
