Playing side missions after The Exchange

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone

I finished the storyline missions for the first time some days ago and besides the phone mission I haven't done anything else.

I know that doing side missions is recommended to do in the start, before any mission because of the hostile gangs afterwards.

I heard that Gripped and Patriot Playground are consideres as one of the hardest missions in the game.

Is playing Patriot after finishing the game harder than at the beginning? I know it is in Saint Mark but also in the beach so I am not sure if that affects the dificulty.

The same question for Gripped before doing the missions in Shorside Vale

I want to play side mission but I know that paramedic is near impossible even in the beginning so I am done haha, but I will replay the game so I will do this one right at the beginning when I replay the game.

No, both missions are not more difficult after completing the main story. At 'Patirot Playground' I would first take the checkpoint near the elevated train. This is perhaps the only risky place where you could come into contact with the Leone's.

In 'Gripped' you have a short stretch of road where Mexicans will shoot at you, but only with Uzis. The Patriot can survive that for the moment.

If you don't have the goal of setting a best time, then with patience and calm you will manage it. :) I think Paramedic is hardest in GTA III.

If you play on PC, this mod will help you. Then you don't have to start all over again.

The Paramedic mission is hard enough without the gangs. Avoid any collisions with the ambulance.

Thank you for the comment

I would say I have patience, I think I will finish Patriot and Gripped after some attempts, I will try it hopefully tomorrow. But paramedic makes me a bit worried haha

Maybe I will use the mod even though I am not that man of mods and I am not sure how to use it but I can try. If I bought the trilogy from rockstar the mod can be used right?

My advice for paramedic is to use the handbrake everytime you turn, this way the ambulance won't overturn. Also do them in Portland or Staunton, not Shoreside Vale.

In Portland I guess you mean at the beginning right?

Why bot Shoeside? It is the safest island I guess

Because you get screwed by the wonky road layouts. The game calculates the time it will give you based on the patients distance, and give you very little time if the patient is very close on the radar, but you have to go all around.

The taxi missons in Shoreside *** you over in the same way. if you're in Cedar Grove and the customer is in the Wichita Gardens picnic area, it's very close on the radar you only get a few seconds but it's extremely far to get there unless you hurl yourself off the cliff and hope you don't explode

Portland at the beginning has no enemies at all, so it's perfectly safe and routes are reasonably direct. Staunton isn't too bad either, that's where I did my level 12 back in the day. The colombians shoot at you but the ambulance gradually heals itself so that makes up for it. The only real problem there is when a patient spawns on the sidewalk that's encapsulated in construction bars then you're ***ed too so it's a little RNG.

Good luck doing Paramedic after you've beat the story, it's by far the most frustrating experience I've had in any GTA.

In Portland it's literally impossible because some patients will always spawn in Saint's Mark where the Mafia can basically insta-kill you with their shotguns. Staunton is your best option, especially if you haven't completed yet the mission Kingdom Come, but it still remains extremely difficult given that the hospital is right next to the Colombian Cartel.

After many failures I decided to give up and just do a ghost car glitch with the Ambulance to make it bulletproof, passed Paramedic first try on Staunton.

I think I will just do the paramedic in a bew save

Mini commander allows much more than disabling the gangs' hostility, you can change their weaponry, their vehicle, avoid getting wanted or notably empty the city streets.

EDIT: You can complete the sub-missions in Shoreside Vale much more easily with my Improved Shoreside Vale roads mod.
