DubiousThiny Posted September 16 Share Posted September 16 September 17, 2023 marks the 10th year anniversary for Grand Theft Auto V, one of the most anticipated sequels for one of the biggest videogame franchises of all time. The game might've been a major letdown it terms of story, characters, driving, gunplay, missions design the works, but GTA V is still a great game with a memorable experience and an amazing atmosphere that no other game had at that time. Or from some other channel. Visiting gtaforums mapping topics or watching those youtube channels talking about it, only game I was always checking if there's news. And now it's for GTA VI waiting. I had in mind map to be quite different than what we got, I spent a lot of time making my own versions but never posted them here. It's my only main complaint but I loved the game, played it on PC 3 years after release since no ps3 and had to upgrade. Brought it home, brothers and I played it and fell in love. The three of us had our character; I was Michael. We never progressed until we were either one or all together to play the missions. I bought PS3 just to play the game and picked up Special Edition on September 17th, but I didn't have a TV to play the game until November (I was PC only player) So I was waiting with my sealed copy for 2 months... Blue carpet Posted September 16 Share Posted September 16 I got the game on PC on release date in April of 2015 I was strictly a PC gamer at that time it was a painful wait but worth it. I remember getting it at my local Best Buy it was the last physical PC game I ever got a 7 disc install. I replayed the SP for years I really enjoyed the hell out of it the atomphere in the game always gave me a feeling of being on vacation also it was pretty cool to play it in VR on my old Oculus Rift. Played GTA V on Original Xbox One of my cousin's. Got it in March 2020 for pc. Darth_Cruiser Posted September 17 Share Posted September 17 (edited) Happy 10th birthday GTA V! Not a huge fan of the story but was nice to be back in sunny LS after the gloomy GTA IV. Franklin and the gang arc bought some memories of SA back. Seeing Grove Street again was neat even though it was taken over by the Ballas here. And here we are, no story DLC, GTA:Online still being milked to the point where the concept of removing features is what they call an improvement... and the only reason I still play is because I've modded the sh*t out of this game. Games not how I imagined it would be 10 years ago when it launched. I thought we'd have VI right now and that this would be seen as old as sh*t. Entertaining story, lovable protagonists, outside the box missions, terrific driving (seriously, playing any other open world game makes me realise how good V's driving mechanics really are) Solid Gunplay and beautiful graphics. Considering it's technically a 360/PS3 era game makes it even more impressive. This is a game that I think in years/decades to come will still be held in high regard by the gaming community, in the same way SA & VC are. I remember 10 years ago pre-ordering the special edition and picking it up at my local post office. I got it for the PS3. Despite let’s say some of my varying opinions/views of the game over the years it’s still a solid entry in the series. Even if it isn’t my favourite. Just the fact it’s been 10 years already. The 10th anniversary already came and they didn't remove anything yet, if it happens in the next update at least they'll be forced to add the Online Mode exclusive radio stations to Story Mode.
