Liberty Alive

It's a nice little mod, tested it with CE with a couple other mods, seems to work without any real issue.

 

Would be nice to have a Fusion Overloader installation, with some compatibility with FusionFix and other essential mods like Various Fixes. There are some shared files like game.dat16 (already mentionned on this thread) and also some maps .img and .ide. files.

Takes some time to make it work manually using OpenIV and RAGE Audio Toolkit, but it's possible. 

 

Also, no Globe Oil gas station interior? :p

(dunno if you missed this one or if you left it intentionnally)

Anyway, hope this mod will get more updates. Wouldn't mind some nice 24/7 interiors too as someone already suggested, there are a couple of those around the map (some even have the same building/front shape just like the gas stations).

You can take inspiration from this map below. Some more opened restaurants and bars could be nice (e.g. the two 60 Diners in Algonquin, Creek Street Diner in BOABO, Pizza This parlors, Jerkov's bar...).

As you can see, Luis Lopez is wreaking havoc in the new interiors...

Scott1 has done a tremendous job of cleaning up the mod files, adding enhancements and cool features here and there, and most importantly of all, added support to TLaD and TBoGT as well. :D An update will be here soon. Thank you all for the great feedback. Hope you guys like the new additions.

And yes, Globe Oil was left out intentionally, yes. It is right next to another gas station. :D

there is a bug in beta. When a crime is committed near the police station, the cops start running into the walls. When a crime is committed, people stay seated and do not get up and run away. Add a road to the interior. Add an office with a chair where we can sit with a trainer. This is the only police station mod .

Great mod, like everyone is saying.

 

I do have one issue where the gas stations flash at night and the exteriors of the gas stations use the old opaque glass textures instead of this mod's. Once I enter the interior, the old glass textures disappear and it becomes transparent, like it should be, but only from within the interior.

 

This only happens at night, though. In the day, the mod works perfectly and doesn't use the opaque glass textures for the exteriors, so you can see inside the station from outside. Also, the station doesn't flash like an old light bulb.

 

It's almost certainly not the fault of this mod and just a bug for me because I am using so many other mods that affect textures, like Project Glass, Project Lights, and Various Fixes. But I would appreciate any help you can provide to identify the problem and solve it. Maybe I need to delete some lines of code from another mod that's using separate gas station textures for day and night time.

 

Regardless, you've done a great job. Keep up the good work. I love the dynamic props. 🙂

After too many months of me adjusting tiny, irrelevant details, Liberty Alive V2: BUSTED! is finally live!

This is perfect, But can u include a game.dat16 compatibility guide? You dont need to go step by step just the modified/new entries. Since I'm using all of your mods I like to merge these by hand

Thanks a lot. And thank you for the feedback. I actually thought of including some kind of compatibility guide for the audio and script.img files, as there is a big possibility of conflicts of interest with other mods here as well. I never got around to it, however. The audio files are placed at the bottom of game.dat16 (by chance, not design) and they start at RON_GAS_BROKER (afaik) onwards. If you haven't already, you should also have a look at AMBIENT_EMITTER_LIST and copy the relevant data to make sure that radios work as intended in all interiors. I might update the compatibility guide later. Please let me know if you have any issues 🙂

Bug Report:

 

The following line that is supposed to go in ambient.ipl in common/data/maps folder causes the game to crash when loading into a save:

world, 110.268, 1114.143, 14.670, 13, 0, 0, 0.847914, 0.5301339, ambInternetCafe, 0,

 

Rest of the mod seems to work fine so far. Deleting that line fixes the crashing. I noticed that line wasn't in the previous version of this mod.

ron_shelf_props.wbd, gas_shopshelves.wbd, copshop_doors.wbd in new_props.img will cause a crash when entering the game. Also, in ambient.ipl, world, 110.268, 1114.143, 14.670, 13, 0, 0, 0.847914, 0.5301339, ambInternetCafe, 0 will also crash when entering the game, how to solve it?

Thank you for the feedback. Have you added the ambinternetcafe.sco to script.img? If yes, this sounds like a limits issue. This line (together with added code in ambinternetcafe.sco) spawns the gas station attendant in the Terroil gas station, and as I understood it, IV has a limit (2 in total) of how many added spawns can be done via ambinternetcafe.sco. If you have other mods installed, this could be the reason for the crash.

Sorry to hear that it crashes your game. As above, this sounds like a limit issue. Do you have any other mods installed as well?

This was very likely the issue. Thanks so much for taking the time to clear this up, especially since this is a problem with my set up and not your mod.

Just another thing: What do you use to compile .sco files? I don't know if this will work, but I want to see if I can just combine my old ambinternetcafe.sco with this new one, as I'm getting the bug where I can't interact with the bowling indicator, and I think it might be because of this. Might be a longshot ...

that is a classic save game corruption error, unfortunately.

 

You will need to start a new game.

 

Other symptoms may include: missing street food vendors, unable to use car wash

You don't have to, because the game will play and work if you don't delete your savedata, but you will encounter bugs as Chunk mentioned above. It won't make you unable to play the game (you will absolutely be able to), it just won't be optimal 🙂

I won't be able to answer this, but Scott1 might, as he did all the code stuff for this. I am sorry I cannot help you further. 

 

News: 

 

I will update the mod soon with some new stuff. Some other IV modders have approached me with some additions (better lighting, more IV lore friendly props among other things) that fit the mod very well, which will be included in the next release. I hope to get that out as soon as I can. Stay tuned... 🙂

Works fine on an existing save game, but getting a crash on the latest Steam version of GTA IV and the latest version of this mod when starting a new game. Unfortunately, I'm on Linux, so it may be a problem on my end, but I did experience similar behaviour on Windows, although I did not test that enough to confirm it is the fault of this mod specifically (on Linux, the problem persisted with only FusionFix + this mod).

 

Any suggestions for what I could change or what I could look for to resolve this would be greatly appreciated, as it adds a nice atmosphere to the world!

I keep getting a weird crash that is exclusive to TBOGT in the hove beach gas station

EDIT: I did more thorough testing and the crash happens even on a clean install. The TBOGT files are faulty in some way that is causing a crash whenever you get close or hang around for too long in the Hove Beach gas station. All the other interiors have no issues and work across the three episodes. Also, the health/armor pickups only work for IV, but not for TLAD or TBOGT

impressive mod but imma address some few issues:

 

1. In the compatibility guide for Potential Grim you forgot to mention using Notepad++ for the dat files (Step 2 to 6 Specifically) because Open IV does not open the dat files for editing

2. There's a Bug where if Niko, Johnny, and Luis tries to throw Molotovs, Grenades, Pipebombs it would fall through the ground inside the gas stations

3. LCPD would get lost trying to find the Protagonists are when they're literally inside the gas stations (Ron or Terroil)

4. Gas stations get slightly laggy when getting inside

Hey there mate. I think I've found the conflicting files. At least for Various Fixes.

 

- PC/data/maps/east/brook_s3.img/og_bs3blk06emlight.wdr (Hove Beach RON, Various Fixes emissive override causing the opaque windows)

- PC/data/maps/east/queens_w2.img/qw2_cj1emis_2.wdr (Same case here but the servo underneath the Algonquin Bridge)

 

Keep an eye on your emissive replacements, some are causing this lol.

 

Bring the files from a backup of the vanilla game and you're off to the races. Editing WPL files will be needed as well..

Now to figure out what's causing this. This is the correct emissive in the wrong orientation. 😂

 

Reached a breakthrough and a roadblock, managed to track it down to Bohan's WPL files which were modified by Various Fixes... The problem is, I don't know how to edit them.

 

Update: Managed to find an editor. Merged everything together now!

The entries `platformimg:/data/maps/interiors/new_interiors/new_interiors 0` in `images.txt` and `IDE platform:/DATA/MAPS/INTERIORS/NEW_INTERIORS/NEW_INTERIORS.IDE` in `gta.dat` will cause a crash when entering TBoGT.Perhaps it's an issue with the TBoGT\common\data\images.txt configuration? But I'm not sure which step went wrong, as the Compatibility Guide doesn't mention this file.

Tbogt doesn't seem to open when using this mod both GTA 4 and TLaD runs perfectly fine even when completing the game
