What people don't see is that a lot of that RP gameplay is heavily dependent on real life brand objects/cars... I don't know if it's a good or bad thing tbh

It wouldn't be too difficult to make lore friendly objects and vehicles for RP related purposes. Vehicles like the Buffalo STX could be converted into a police variant with only a small amount of work needed.

Inbefore this is going to turn into fivem not being allowed to do anything anymore because it needs to pass the take two lawyers

That's what I'm trying to understand too. Like how are they going to deal with mods that are just real world brands? I don't think many of these brands would like their image being associated with a +18 game

According to the RP server rules posted last year using real brands is not allowed so...

Not interested at all, they probably Will Focus on consoles and paywalls to give more money to straussy.

Meanwhile old gen consoles still going (when they should shut down that once and for all) and give PC hsw content and career thing and move Forward with new gen consoles and PC until GTA 6 comes out.

But of course PC players need to be treated like trash not only by Rockstar, much people here wishes that PC get ditched too...

FWIW this has been in the works for a long time and everyone in the FiveM dev team says the future is bright. They know the conditions and did it willingly, I don't think it's gonna be monetised at all.

FiveM style stuff in VI would be absolutely huge.

Of course they can do it. But it's not the same. A big portion of FiveM popularity is because you can wear/drive real world brands.

Isn't that only if servers are charging a whatever amount of money?

Anyway, I'm really curious about the future of all this... the bad and good sides

FiveM in GTAVI will be a dream for me come true. Im a fan of it but no good pc

I can see that everyone here is trying to draw conclusions about what impact this might have on GTA Online, but from what I understand this acquisition's goal is mainly for Rockstar to offer support for FiveM/RedM as (fairly) independent entities. The whole point of these modifications is that they are created by the community on independent servers. Of course I see the potential threat of Rockstar wanting to have some kind of control over communities which is obviously very bad, but the announcement notes sound very good tbh.

tldr: I wouldn't look for changes for GTA Online in this. It's a good sign that FiveM in GTA VI may have a bright future.

What, really? I don't know since I haven't played since long time, but I remember all the servers were full of real brands. So now there are no servers that use real world brands?

Also some servers are already predatory as f*ck with monetisation, that stuff has been disallowed in that support article posted last year (this was already on the cards, hence R* officially acknowledging RP), so I doubt that's gonna happen.

The more people with access to this stuff in a future game, the better.

I know this is a rare W by R*

But can someone explain in simple terms (as I don't play Online) what this exactly means for GTA O and GTAVI O?

I think it means that for now GTA online might be safe “might be”

Here's the thing, no. Nothing changed for servers that take no profit at all

That's what I was thinking. Thak you.

I just went to FiveM server list, and every single one has real world brands lol
