Weekly Event (3rd August 2023) - Help Out Lamar and Ron, Taxi Up, Meet Up With Franklin for Short Trip Bonuses and more!

Spider-Vice

The Summer Racing Event is now over!

This week and until the 9th August, Lamar is offering extra for helping him with extra work, including with his Lowrider crew! Hop on your Taxi for big bonuses on delivering passengers, help out Ron Jakowski for an extra, meet up with Franklin and Lamar on Short Trips and throw people you (dis)like off platforms for extra rewards in Sumo Remix, and more!

Remember this is just a preview, and information may change. On top of that, Rockstar may reserve things for their own Newswire.

We understand that not every Event Week will be to everyone's liking, some will certainly be more exciting than others, but anyway...

Let's get started!

Lamar wants your help - in present and in past! Ron wants some too

It's been a while since Lamar Davis has been in enough of a pickle that he's willing to pay extra for your work! Unless you've been paying him to call muggers on other unsuspecting players, friends or foes, of course - but he still wants help. Alongside that, Lamar has been quite reminiscent about the past, as has Franklin, so they're getting together to smoke a joint and remember the good times, with bonuses on Short Trips.

Lamar hasn't forgotten the Lowrider crew either - meet up with them for bonuses on Lowrider Missions as well.

Meanwhile, Ron Jakowski has heard about these offers and he's willing to offer players bonus payment for helping him out with some pressing issues.

Starting this week, until 9th August:

  • 2x GTA$ and RP on Short Trips (find Franklin and Lamar at Record A Studios!)
  • 3x GTA$ and RP on all Lamar Contact Missions incl. Lowriders
  • 3x GTA$ and RP on all Ron Contact Missions

Downtown Cab Co. feeling generous, and some vehicular destruction is on the menu

Downtown Cab Co. has recently seen a surge in demand, which means they got some extra money to pay their biggest and oldest employees. As a corporation should - don't do pay cuts, that's lame.

If you're not feeling like helping folks get to their destinations, Sumo Remix will be offering extra to stay on top, stay on the platforms as everyone else falls to their inevitable demise either over land or water.

As such, this week, find:

  • 3x GTA$ and RP on Taxi Work
  • 2x GTA$ and RP on Sumo Remix

Miscellaneous

The Diamond Casino & Resort Lucky Wheel

Ah, the American wilderness. From the massive mountains of Colorado, to the plains in Texas, to Mount Chiliad in San Andreas, folks around the state keep thinking about what to use to traverse them. Some are big fans of the classics (or variants of them), like Felipe who was reportedly jumping with joy when he saw this Lucky Wheel vehicle coming into storage to be put up this week.

Indeed, starting 3rd August and until the 9th, find the Declasse Drift Yosemite to win at the wheel, you just need to win. Easy, right? Right.

LS Car Meet Prize Ride

Meanwhile at the LS Car Meet, racers wind down from the Summer Racing Event, but a new car is about to make it onto the Prize Ride Slamtruck. Not quite its 80's classic version, instead its 2010's version, but it's equally loved within the Car Meet. After all that's what brings everyone together inside - cars.

This week, place Top 2 in LS Car Meet Series races two days in a row to win the Grotti Turismo R.

At the Test Track, you can find the following rides to well... test, or buy as appropriate:

  • Bravado Greenwood (also 30% off)
  • Pfister Comet SR
  • Karin Calico GTF (this one drifts!)

If you're on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series, Hao will have something for you as usual - this week and until the 9th, find the Coil Cyclone II HSW, all for you. Electric speedy goodness - don't be fooled by it being electric instead of mechanic.

Premium Deluxe Motorsport

This week at PDM, Simeon's scored some more vehicles, but no unique liveries this time. Can't be every week, Simeon. He however does have a couple of the discounted cars:

  • Schyster Deviant (also 50% off)
  • Vapid Peyote Gasser (also 40% off)
  • Invetero Coquette
  • Declasse Tulip M-100
  • Vapid Blade

Luxury Autos

If you're dropping by Record A to solicit some memories in the form of Short Trips from Franklin and Lamar, you may notice these across the road!

  • Declasse Vigero ZX
  • Bravado Buffalo EVX

Time Trials and Premium Races

Across the state, either weekly or daily, San Andreas residents and otherwise can find places to test their driving, biking or RC driving skills, and get money for it! Enter Time Trials - have you got the skills for them?

If you're *really* insistent in showing your driving skills, you also have Premium Races available for extra money versus regular Races.

This week, available for you, find:

  • Muscle Premium Race: Down the Drain
  • Regular Time Trial: Casino
  • HSW Time Trial: North Chumash to Palomino Highlands

More info on the Rockstar Newswire tomorrow

Please leave discussion of the new DLC or about the removed vehicles and other subjects in the dedicated section, thanks!

As this is a preview, any information in this post is subject to change and any corrections or missing details will be added as found.

Cool another week without a business bonus. Thanks R* for adding Career Progress challenges and then not giving us incentive to work on them

Why is the Buffalo EVX going to the dealership again? It was there not even a month ago...and it's available on the websites!

Since they want to play this FOMO sh*t with the temporarily available vehicles on the dealerships, then they should at least make sure that they don't have any repeated cars appearing in there.

Can you use HSW cars on the premium races? Because if so then at least it makes sense for them to add those two cars now.

Still trying to figure out why after doing over 50 Taxi fares and more than 10 stunt jumps with customers I only got the Eudora Taxi Livery. It said I unlocked the Broadway Taxi Livery as well but It's still locked after several months. 💩

I'll take the 3x on Taxi work, since it's a great reason to drive my Broadway some more. As for everything else, in my opinion it's overall a decent week.

LEROY HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED BY BALLAS.

ARE YOU A BAD ENOUGH DUDE TO RESCUE LEROY?

I'll probably play some of those Lamar missions again. Although it's annoying when they're not all on bonus since you generally play one and the next screen is just Martin/Simeon/Trevor/Gerald. (I know you can do Playlists but I'm lazy)

Whats with their hard-on for that champagne color? It looks nice, but not enough to make them be on almost every vehicle with interior trim color.

I missed this livery when it was available, so it really bugs me seeing it in the unobtainable car club every single week.

It wont give me the "without snacks or armor one" only of the 4 person ones 🤷

*edit

Seems that none of the 4 players can use snacks or armor, or it voids the challenge for all 4 players and no one can get the award on this one. The others werent like this.

You think that is limited to Low rider missions?  I wish.  Backwards racers, people jumping out of heists after they have started, people going AFK in AMs.  God bless you folks that still try and play with randumbs.

Did like 13 taxi fares before someone blew me up, made 60k. Was the pay way crummier than I remembered or does the 3x only apply to the fare but not the tip? Lol

it applies to both the tip and fair it's ~2000 and ~100 normal; on release it was 2x, 4x for gta+

Johnny GTA Watson

Can someone smarter than me please explain the Arbiter GT pure gold wheels to me?

I bought it but they just look chrome

However, when scrolling through different wheel options they are set to gold

Do I need to buy rims for the gold to take affect or are the stock ones tinted in some way?

Thanks in advance and sorry if I'm being dumb 🙏🍩
