New Air Freight Additions, Land sell missions and Rooster McCraw

Recommended Posts

Let’s use this thread to discuss the new additions to the air freight hangar business. Rooster McCraw has been added to the hangar to source 1-2 crates for you for $25K (just like Lupe and her crew). There are 4 new land source missions and 3 new land sell missions that you can select at the terminal. Any hints and tips would be welcomed!

Here’s what I found playing solo and my hangar is based at Fort Zancudo:

Source Missions

Source Treasure Hunters – go to the barge, release the magnet, collect the container using the Avisa sub, drive to the Mule and take back to the hanger (Alamo Sea, Paleto Bay, Port).

Tip: Once loaded into the Mule, just blow it up and collect the crate. You can fly back which is way faster!

Source Deal infiltration – Head to the deal between two factions and steal a trailer. You can hijack another trailer on route and use that to steal the trailer whilst using a disguise (new dock worker outfit unlocked).

Tip: Bring a Savage and kill them all! Blow up the trailer to collect the crate and fly back instead of driving.

Source Garage break-in – Head to the rival’s garage (the door is slightly ajar) and destroy the generator to open it. Steal the crate and bring back whilst avoiding enemies.

Tip: You can squeeze your RC Bandito under the door and detonate it near the security panel. When you open the door, no enemies will appear.

Source Streamer216 Crash site – Rooster is going to airdrop a package in Sandy Shores, he had to ditch his plane so search the crash site. Lose the cops.

Tip: Fastest one for me – fly to Sandy Shores and search for the crash site (look for the enemy heli patrolling), hover over the crash site to find the crate and fly down to collect (no need to exit). Fly back to the hangar over the mountains to lose the cops. Less than 4 mins from Zancudo.

Sell Missions

Sell Phantom and Trailer - Get in the Phantom truck cab and hitch it to the trailer. Drive to a single destination with no enemies or police chasing you. There is a damage meter (be careful navigating the Vinewood hills) and detach the trailer in the spot - yay truck simulator! Locations (El Burro Heights oil derricks, Vinewood Bowl). Very simple and easy sell mission. Reverse the trailer in as well!

Update: I sold 50 air freight and got a drop off in Paleto Bay which is just up the highway. However, for once I had enemies spawn (Lost MC on motorcycles and a van) so keep moving and watch the damage meter.

Sell Ratel - Use the Ratel to make 5 drops across the map. After drop 2 or 3, two enemy Maverick helicopters will spawn and attack. The drops are spread out in a fairly logical path to follow. Not too challenging to complete as a solo and you must leave the area after competing the last drop. Tip: Destroy 1 heli and shoot out the gunners of the other. The pilot will just follow you and no further helis will spawn.

Update: There is one route where the checkpoint is up on top of Mt Chilliad! That can get annoying and you need to take the path up by the saw mill.

Sell Offroad Flare Check Points (Apocalypse Issi, Outlaw or Vagrant) - You'll be given a vehicle so get in and drive to the first flare checkpoint. Subsequent ones will only appear from there. In addition, blue flares mark an optimal route to take. There are 10 checkpoints to follow and you need to leave the area after the last drop. Arguably the more tedious one but no enemies have spawned in my run. It takes 3 mins just to drive to LS from Fort Zancudo. There is one path that goes under the city via the Vangelico heist escape route too!

Are these the missions that Ron talked about when he called me and said something about land based missions and told me to come to the hangar?

Yes, new land based source and sell missions you can access via the Free Shipping .Co computer inside your hangar 👍

Nice seeing this all in one place, seems I was posting in the wrong thread, lol. Playing the past few days I realized land source missions are very easy.

The hanger business got a serious buff, dayum.  And so far land sell mission are nice. If anyone did the Marshall drops for the Bunker, its similar. But so far its looks like only one sell vehicle, no matter what.

Thanks! Just saw your comments on the other thread. Yeah blowing up the Mule (Treasure Hunters) and Trailer (Deal Infiltration) makes it way quicker. Mule only took four rockets, and I suggested the Savage due to the explosive cannon for the trailer.

Since when can we use the bandito in fr missions? I thought all RC stuff was off

limits for stuff like business missions in free roam as well as instanced missions

They’ve been getting skimpy with the source missions, both these land supply missions and the acid lab supply missions are so few that I’m getting the same ones back to back. Just got the trailer land mission for the hangar three times in a row.

Rooster is useless, random cargo source ruins bonuses stocks. Should allow us to pick the desired product.

Auto source is always a good idea but not how R* made it. Bad developed like many other features...

On the confirmation screen, they are still faster by using a flying vehicle despite the name.

There are distance checks for the three new land-based sell missions. Disabled when the distance between you and the sell mission is less than 1000m and more than 7000m.

Los Santos Airport hangars can disable some of the sell missions variants in Paleto Bay. However, the hangars are much further away in terms of distance than Fort Zancudo hangars. So extra distance.

But Fort Zancudo hangars are much closer thus more quicker than LS Hangars.

I kinda wish we would have gotten a local mission option for less money that can be completed in 2 or 3 minutes and a remote mission option that can be completed in 15 for more money. Just like RDO

I'm wondering what the new spreadsheet charts look like for sales with the Air Frieght bonuses now. @CaliMeatWagon.... you out there?

Completed a couple (25% Tob and Alc, and 35% Narcs), and unlike before when Ron took his cut and still added to the earnings, it is now deducted from the total Free Trade Shipping screen earnings making overall earnings much more confusing.

Two days of light collecting with 2 successful sales of about 2 million, but the numbers don't add up on the UI.

EDIT: Nvm, i found a post detailing some values from last year when the changes happened. Apparently Ron takes 2.5% from every crate, and the math from the wiki states Narcs Chems and Medics each hold a bonus of 35% and 70% respectively for 25 crates and full stock of 50 collected. Animal, Art and Jewel bonuses increase by multiples of 12%, 24%, 36% 48% and 60% for every ten crates collected, and the Booze and Fake Cash have multiples of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, 45% and 50% for every 5 crates collected.

So i think this is right... with Ron's cut in mind, i need to minus 2.5% off any stock (bonus or otherwise) i have at those listed percentages to find the REAL value, since the game states i'll earn more than i actually recieve due to Ron's cut not even factored in anymore, and why those values are incorrectly tallying total earnings. If Ron is working with me i feel it should count those additional numbers. But whatever. Weird they'd make that change.

I sold 10 crates of 1 type and i Got and Apocalypse Issi...10 drops

I sold 20 crates (mixed) and i Got 1 vehicle a maxwell vagrant, again 10 drops.

The first drop is far away then the rest are close...SO far i just did 2 land sells just to get $500.000 for the unlock.

Hopefully we get a detailed spreadsheet soon :)

Likewise! But since the sales increases happened Dec 2022 i figured there might have been one already... i couldn't find one. The smuggler land source and sells are surprisingly easy, though can get a little tedious. One sale had me travel all over Blaine County, up Chiliad and back down to Paleto then out again to Mount Gordo... in the Ratel. Word of warning, it's not good at sleep inclines - had 3 minutes left and got nervous when it kept slipping and getting stuck on trees (it wasnt even raining). Stick to the trail is the best advice. I threw the thing off the mountaintop though, just to gain some ground. Might not have made the sale had i drove down carefully.

I hear the Ratel is also prone to getting its wheel arches stuck in the ground, so it's a little bit of a risk landing jumps in the thing if your whole cargo vehicle gets stuck in the games mesh!

You have ~42% chance to receive the new Air-Freight Source missions when calling Ron to source Air-Freight Cargo.

So whilst Rooster can source air freight for you (either 1-2) and it takes 48 mins, sometimes if I switch the game off and return later I won't have any new air freight! Rooster is back and my initial $25K is gone. I know it works offline like special cargo (no issues with Lupe). Typically I get a pop up once I log into the session. So maybe a bug?

I find it interesting that the new sales missions are so solo friendly when old ones are the most solo unfriendly sells missions in the game, I really hope they do the same with mc sells missions in the future

They give you some of the absolute worst and slowest vehicles to do deliveries in for MC sales. Sales missions for MC's are just absolutely dreadful and need a complete overhaul. I was expecting sales on bikes or Gang Burritos or something. But we get dump trucks, Boxville's and Dodo's. WTF Very rarely can a sale go quick and easy or even be done on a motorcycle. These new Hangar land missions are great and very solo friendly which I love since I do everything solo.

Agree, hope they overhaul mc sells like for example change the op van with the armored boxville and add npc enemies, if they don't want to make it solo friendly, at least make it interesting to play with your friends and not a boring insufferable torture

Is there any clutter in the hanger after a certain amount of sales?

Not that I’ve seen, and I’ve been selling air frieght all week. Prolly didn’t add any since the complaints about CEO office “clutter” lol. Only Project Overthrow adds props to Charlie’s side of the Hangar.

They’ve given certain areas of the map a refreshing lease of life. I never go out to the Radio Tower or along that dirt road near Mount Josiah. Only thing I worry about is having the off-roader I’m given get stuck in a tree or a rock - in which case, having the Up-N-Atomizer in your inventory is a must!

The Up-N-Atomizer has gotten me out of a lot of situations with stuck vehicles and other things. Love that thing! 😎👍

For the mission where the crate is behind a half closed garage door, it is possible to destroy the security system from the outside without using the RC Bandito. I destroyed it with an explosion at the garage in Richmond. I'm not sure it's possible to do for the La Mesa location though.

It seems the Terrorbyte only does the new Land missions. I ran four missions from the Terrorbyte and they were all the new ones. Can anyone else confirm?

It is nice to be able to return to the hangar without having to take a slow mule truck. I always drop the truck in the lake or ocean (trucks get submerged and destroyed) pick up the cargo and return to the hangar in a CEO Buzzard helicopter.
