Aside from the whole FOMO situation and rockstar removing these cars, I think something that should be pointed out is how bad this is when it comes to rockstar putting these cars back into rotation, excluding the HSW and GTA+ car club/museum as they are next gen, there is only a handful of places where all players can get these vehicles from now on.

  • 4 spots at the LSCM (Prize ride and promo rides)
  • 5 Spots at Simeon’s dealership
  • 2 spots the luxury auto dealership
  • 1 spot in the casino (The podium vehicle…that some people can’t even get due to gambling restrictions in their country)

There is not a lot of places where people can obtain many of these vehicles, some can also be stolen from the street or bought by auto/bike mechanic shops as service vehicles (at the moment) but the rest are currently unobtainable.

And to add insult to injury, something I noticed and I believe @WildBrick142 has pointed out before, most of the cars in these places end up being repeated week to week. So some cars and pretty much most bikes likely won’t make it to the dealerships…

Yeah, had the same thought - plus, if GTA VI is rumoured to be aiming for a 2024 release, then how many event weeks are there going to be between now and then for people to obtain them?

For a similar example, RDO has "limited stock" clothing that comes and goes from the stores and catalogues - some things have only been available for a week or so at a time, over the course of just 3 separate event weeks, over the last four years. Put another way: if there's a certain jacket or hat you want from the RDO "limited stock" selection, you may have had an average of one week a year to log in and nab it, or else miss out - with no guarantee there'll be another opportunity in future.

So again, how long before Rockstar just puts GTA V's Online on the back burner, perhaps sets the event weeks to be event months (like with RDO), and focuses on GTA 6's new Online instead - ? At which point, there's no guarantee that some of these vehicles will ever be available again (depending on how hands-on they are with updating the events for the older game) - at that point, anyone who wants to dip into the older GTAO will effectively be stuck with an incomplete experience.

When you consider the bigger universe of GTA Online players, racing communities are probably a small dot in their stats even if they're "big" in our perspective - I definitely think there should have been a bit more deliberation when choosing what vehicles to remove, so it would have been better balanced between the niche/hardcore communities, casual players and the truly "sh*tty" old vehicles.

Also on Gen9, if you can buy replicas of others' vehicles I wonder if that was one of their thoughts...

My problem with what you are saying here is the fact that you are discussing what cars they should remove, when the actual thought should be them not removing anything.

Nobody, no one, not a single person in this entire game's existence has ever complained about the websites being clogged up with cars (having too many cars to buy), we wanted filters to get through them, find what we want easily, this is not a solution, as that wasn't the issue to begin with.

One of this game's most powerful Ws was the huge selection of cars that tick many boxes, especially with the massive playerbase and different tastes.

Then they pull this.

The vehicles that I didn't removed from this list are the vehicles that I currently have on my collection which got deleted with this FOMO nonsense.

I can't believe that they had the BALLS to remove the Faggio Mod and I'm so glad I bought it yesterday because the thing is hilarious, and its unfortunate that the Warrener completely slipped under my radar, I could have bought it instead of the damn Dune FAV 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

All of this sh*t is completely unnecessary.

So again, how long before Rockstar just puts GTA V's Online on the back burner, perhaps sets the event weeks to be event months (like with RDO), and focuses on GTA 6's new Online instead - ? At which point, there's no guarantee that some of these vehicles will ever be available again - at that point, anyone who wants to dip into the older GTAO will effectively be stuck with an incomplete experience.

If it was any other developer doing this, even the scummiest ones on earth, I would at least trust them to be competent enough to make a proper automated system that makes sure all of the vehicles are cycled through properly without needing manual input and lists, so that it can just be left running for many years after development has ended. But this is Rockstar. They're gonna have a couple handmade lists for Simeons etc. and I reckon a total of max 30 vehicles are going to be rotated through until GTA VI comes out. From then on, these are also the only 30 that will ever rotate through the dealerships. They have almost certainly f*cked GTA Online for the future. Anybody that wants to go back after VI is out for some nostalgia, drive some old favorite cars is f*cked unless they have them in their garage already. Don't bother ever making a new account or second character to re-experience this version of GTA Online a few years from now.

I know somebody speculated earlier that the removed vehicles might not be available in VI and they want us to get used to that so that we won't cry about it, but I almost suspect the opposite. Almost all of these vehicles are all going to be easily available and purchaseable in VI Online. That way, it'll seem like VI Online has so many more vehicles available than V, and gets players to move over faster (as if they aren't going to do that anyway lmao)

There's 11 vehicles left in the Motorcycles category on SSSA. Two of them aren't bikes. Similar on Legendary. 10 vehicles, 2 aren't bikes.

It's just crazy to see so many cut, words fail me right now as I'm still learning and gathering the info, lol. But that's a whole lot more than a trimming of lesser used stuff. Madness

So, the only saving grace from all the non-sense they pulled those last updates, was the fact that it was a model successful enough without using FOMO. Sure it is a grindhell, but at least a game with +100GB size that had all the content available at all times.

Now... Well, it's just another one of them. As if the dripfeed wasn't at an atrocious pace already.

Can we get a list of what cars are currently able to be stolen? I doubt it is many but seems like useful info.

Google 'GTABase' and in the vehicle database just filter the 'can be found/stolen' option. Just over 100 can be nabbed up, though the list isn't perfect but it's a good guide no less. :)

The Sanchez?

The Sanchez?

Really?

Obviously, I'm gonna grab my shark card once that 7000$ bike is made available again :kekw:

I think they threw in a bunch of those cheap and "irrelevant" vehicles at random as cover to say "look, we didn't just remove the expensive and meta cars!"

I thought I was done with this game after Drug Wars. Not that I hated it or anything, I just felt kinda burned out, bored and disinterested after these many years. Few days ago, I played again and actually enjoyed myself a fair bit, thought this update sounded like a nice spot to actually get back into it. Nah, I'm done. Unless the newswire for the December newswire reads "Reinstated previously removed vehicles", I'm not coming back either. I'll probably stick around here, see what the situation is like, but I'm done with actually playing Online. Shame, too, because the rest of this update actually seems really nice.

I just wish somebody would create a FiveM server that wasn't ball sucking RP, but actually tried to be an Online GTA game. You know, with crimes and shootouts and stuff, not just talking to peoples OCs.

While this is a bad thing, I wouldn’t call it THE worst. GTA V having its promised DLC cut and repurposed, and turning GTAO into an explosive deathmatch grindfest that demands you to treat it like a second job were a lot worse and a sign that more scummy decisions will be made.

Let me rephrase then. This is the worst thing they've done at a single point in time that you can look at and say, well, that was just a middle finger to the player base. The two things you mentioned are terrible without a doubt, but they weren't single changes, confined to specific updates, or anything of the sort. They were more large-scale, long-term plans that were executed over years--death by a thousand cuts.

It's also significant to me that this particular change was delivered wrapped in a blatant lie. They sold us a turd and said it was gold. "This is for your benefit--we're streamlining!" No, you're not, and we all know it now.

Guess they're treating cars like NFTs now. Dan Houser is on to something

an nft is the key to something but not the actual thing, the gta equivalent would be buying one of a limited car or anything gives you permanent access to buying more of it through the webpage

they could've added a check option for ALL vehicles that defaults to unchecked. Like, SHOW ALL VEHICLES to purchase (that aren't limited time)

It's not many, and at a glance, they are an insignificant number of the ones on this list, which really tells you something.

You're trying to squeeze out words that I didn't say or things that I didn't mean. Of course I agree they shouldn't have removed anything. But they have - so in face of that reality... I am describing what seems to be happening, and also how it's not well done. Not sure what's up with the tone, I'm not defending or justifying it, it needs to go back to the drawing board if they still want to go forward with this, or just not do it at all.

Couldn't have phrased it better. The warning signs that led us to this point have been very glaring for a long time. Time to show them what for. Let the player count plummet.

Need For Madness Auto

Since we have 7 vehicles for Dripfeed so the Vinewood Car Club will have it per month while we get only previous dlc cars in weekly updates.

For example Weaponized Conada in July & Hotring Hellfire in September but in between those weeks we get old cars before new month.

This makes me feel like rockstar hired the same Meta employees that are currently poisoning Discord. Either that or they had ChatGPT come up with their ideas because just what kind of double digit IQ idiot thought this was a good idea?? I actually don't even know if I want to keep playing the game if every update is going to bring stupid stuff like this!

I mean Chatgpt literally came up with the drug war mission design lmao i wouldnt be surprised

I came back from the dead to say that this is the worst update ever for this game.

WHAT KIND OF MORONS DECIDED THIS WAS THE RIGHT DECISION?

Congratulations to everyone who will eat this sh*t up!

I'm done with this game series. (GTA 6 will be even worse. BET ON IT.)

I'd add with that the arena and car meet reputation systems for unlockables to this though to be fair. R* knows many enjoy unlocking and 'completing' things, and other challenges. But 1000 ranks to unlock clothing/vehicles in such a way that a year of bleeding fingers between work and the rest of life couldn't even do it, along with now, it's all just feels so different and wrong to me.

The long term player that enjoyed all these aspects for up to 10 years potentially has slowly had it all go against them to the point of near impossibility even with the extra money per month to buy access when R* choose when we can buy things for us. There's challenges, and then there's R*'s challenges!

Bit off topic I know, the thing that really pisses me off is how my/our previous elite challenges don't count towards these new tiered rewards in the pause menu, among many other big targets in there too. It's all just crazy to do it all again. So no matter how I try to not get caught up in a negative like this vehicle removing part is, other parts are making it so easy to be critical overall on this DLC.

Yeah, I'm really cautious about VI Online. Was just thinking yesterday when I was reorganizing my garages that it's all a bit pointless considering I'll probably never touch V Online again after VI Online is out, but I guess there's a decent chance I won't be touching much of VI Online either, if they start pulling this crap from the start. Ah, well, I'll still have singleplayer. Maybe I'll even mod SP for V until then, already did some experimenting a while ago. Lot of interesting mods, including some that add similar businesses to Online into it.

Sanchez (aka livery) and sanchez2 (aka painted).

Painted is easy enough to find in Harmony/Sandy Shores/Grapeseed.

The livery Sanchez is still available. Two of them spawn up in Paleto Bay on the dirt tracks right above Beeker's. They're time locked, I believe most of the day and evening. (Last I checked they can also be pulled out of the Meth'd Up mission but you need another player. They spawn in a few other old contact missions too, not sure if they're possible to keep though.)

The idea of adding that kind of stuff ten years in and not having past accomplishments counted toward it--man, that's something. My little crew wears our elite shirts with pride. Will we redo them all for this? Probably not.

I am not trying anything, this is what I am referring to:

Quote

...I definitely think there should have been a bit more deliberation when choosing what vehicles to remove...

This is discussing what should have been done before removing things, this translates to "when they were about to remove things, they should have done X and Y".

Maybe it sounded differently than I intended, but what I am saying is, at least in my view, discussing what they should have done or what cars they should have "removed or left" should be completely out of the question, because this whole decision of theirs is unnecessary and not needed.

so basically now if i want a specific vehicle to complete some type of collection ive been working on, I’ll have to wait until tunable guy wakes up on the right side of the bed and miraculously adds it to simeons dealership? Did no one at R* even point out how outrageous this is? What guarantees do i have that they wont be doing this with GTA6?
