So far: brand-new Tactical SMG. What could this be? "perfect for firing while driving".

Seems to have in incredibly high ROF/RPM!

Seems to be based on steyr tmp. Not bad, but this was perfect opportunity given the theme to add more mk2 weapons for each category or even more guns overall and all we gonna get is one smg?

this looks like a new assault rifle

actually nah, i think it's the default carbine rifle, the shadow makes it look different

Meh, call me when they add a Vector or any of the countless other long requested guns people have been asking for. Still, I guess a new gun is better than no new gun.

I'd prefer some classic weapons over generic modern ones. E.g. an Uzi with wooden stock, wouldn't make a difference in terms of gameplay but much in style:

Did you photoshop the image? In the newswire it looks more like a nail gun but that could be the truck in the background

A gun that's a better choice than a gun that has been in the game since launch (ie AP Pistol in vehicles) is big enough of a deal for me though

Unless the new SMG is more powerful than the AP Pistol, I'll put it in gun lockers.

Nope, i just slammed it directly into photoshop and cropped it out.

Mk2 Precision Rifle plz

Buff it by orders of magnitude and give it a proper SFX. It sounds like a dry fart leaking from a saggy sphincter

Who knows how it will be ? Time. Let's hope that drive-by weapon works properly :kekw: and doesn't locked behind dripfeed content... (Last automatic one is Mini SMG my god that accuracy :prismkek:) Probably a new opponent to Micro SMG.

I really want a better AR-15 carbine (I don't want a pipe rifle, service carbine good but attachments looks awful MK.II gets beaten by others.),

Well, 5mods know how to do that. (Took from the site, 1st one is called Navy Carbine, 2nd one is called Military Carbine).

Working and better Snipers. AWP (ik it's here since day 1 but we need better one against players), Scout, AS VAL and Vintorez Sniper.

Can someone give me a good and helpful explanation about advantages a SMG got over an automatic rifle ?

Hey, we got dem Klobb since an eternity and now we are getting the CMP-150 so it's not bad.

Specifically here, it can be used in a vehicle and therefore might dethrone the AP pistol

In general yeah, shorter. Better indoors.

You mean in the game? None whatsoever outside of a vehicle lol, they’re just a cool alternative. A Vector in a heavy caliber would have been way cooler..

Sounds like it’ll just be the SMG, which is likely what the Riot SMG was from Alloc8ers CE leaks. Still holding out hope for PSG1 or some kind of G3 pattern rifle, a 10mm Glock, Sig P226, an Assault SMG Mk.II that’s all P90, and a Service Carbine Mk.II with M203 attachment. Getting down to the wire though for this games lifespan, if I’m lilucky they’ll be GTAO 2 DLC fodder

In first person it's stricly based on the iron sights for me, nothing beat the kind seen on the Advanced Rifle or the Sawn off Shotgun (a ring and a vertical line)

Yeah, I forgot to mention in-game.

We still don't have anything like the Combat Sniper Rifle of GTA IV.

If you can headshot, SMGs are better. They have better firerate and acceptable accuracy. Not on players unless it's drive-by.

Imagine still participating in PvP… seriously though, I see what you’re saying but that comes at the cost of effective range. That doesn’t stop me from using them though, the Assault SMG is my go to with the Scorpion being second (I forget the name since the three micros are all so similar sounding).

I hope it's not just that SMG, or even just 3 boring guns.

As far as normal guns go, a P90 would be nice, but aside from that, I would like to see more MK2 weapons, more ammo types (if possible?), secondary functions, and of course: experimental weapons. This should be a full Gunrunning Part 2.

Flamethrower, ice gun, mini nuke, cerebral bore, shockwave gun or something like a widespread atomizer that just knocks everyone over. Maybe some drug laced bullets with different effects?

One of the new planes should have the "flying ginsu" missile also! Don't know if that would be possible in the current engine but an idea is an idea!

Forgot one more.... we need a mech to round things off.  If we can build them in Zelda now, we can have one here too.

A more authentic Tavor would make for a good Advanced Rifle Mk.II, maybe even bump it up to the T7/.308 platform (like 9mm, there are too many 5.56 rifles in the game already) they would need to add new SFX but they did that for the Special Carbine Mk.II didn’t they? I rented one not long ago at my LGS and am seriously considering pulling the trigger. It’s an expensive gun to shoot, but one of the few that has made me actually lol after the first mag dump. Add a .50 Mk.II along with it for an Israeli twofer.

Even though with the mercenary theme we're more likely to get modern tactical weapons,I'm still hoping for some old school guns like these:

[snipped images]

I agree. Tbh I want at least one useful older (pre-70s) gun for each category/ammo type. And they should port some more of the RDR2 guns, since they have the models. The Borchardt, M1899 and Carcano wouldn't even need new animations, they could use pre-existing GTA ones.

I'd be really surprised if we get anything beyond that new Micro SMG, better not create any expectations.

I just hope that they paid attention to the Precision Rifle because that things costs a fortune and is a sad excuse of a weapon.

I'm on hopium life support. I'm hoping for some sort of DLC themed weapon. Time will tell when the trailer drops (if we get one), but I have a gut feeling that you're probably right and this is the only weapon. I at least hope it has a high firerate but I guess it will be just some sort of reskinned Micro Uzi.

That means it's gonna be a worse drive-by weapon than the AP Pistol and Micro SMG.

SMGs have significantly less recoil* and are therefore much better when you use a mouse, shoot in 3rd person, target NPCs, and are good at getting headshots. Particularly the SMG Mk II with a muzzle brake.

*) Recoil in GTA5 is added on a per-bullet basis and is removed after an amount of time that the weapon isn't fired. So the Mini SMG is inaccurate mostly because it fires so fast. (Also the amount of recoil it gets is almost that of the Combat MG.) But it "forgets" its recoil like other SMGs, i.e. roughly twice as fast as an assault rifle. SMGs in general allow you to fire accurate, short bursts in quick succession, because all of the recoil is gone in 1.5 seconds of not firing.

I used first person more lately, I feel like the camera is easier to control when using iron sights (SMGs tend to suck at this)

If anyone got doubts about the cheapest gunman for the Diamond Casino heist on Aggressive then doubt no more.

Yeah, in 1st person SMGs don't have the advantage, because only the spread introduces inaccuracy in 1st person, not the recoil shake, and assault rifles usually have lower spread than SMGs. (In particular the Advanced Rifle you already mentioned.)
