Missing Features Present in the Grand Theft FRANKLIN Trailer

for only a moment let us turn our eyes back to the classic gran-theft gamer's Franklin-based trailer. in this instance we will meet a few features never seen inside the game which I do indeed believe are neat 'n interesting as well.

one is, we see various scenes of gang bangers getting arrested by police. this never even happens in-game. the cops dont arrest NPCs in gameplay, they only open fire. these scenes seem to be showing them handcuff gangstas and putting them into the back of their squad car. These scenes also never appear in any frickin' cutscene to my knowledge (even though I wish they did)

Another one is: police foot-chases. these just do NOT really happen at all. The trailer made it look like it was in a mission and the lights are shining in the night and its intense as we are running thru the alleyways and hopping fences and all that. in the game whenever you have the cops on you in a mission, they are just gonna be shooting at you. same for pretty much anything you do in game as once you get 1 star, simply existing for too long causes you to gain another star and get shot at.

So my question is what happened to each of these neat and interesting, incredible, and truly immersive features that would have added to the world or realm of the game, and allowed gamers across the nations to experience a true followup to GTAIV, which doesnt even need to improve upon the cool features from IV, but simply maintain and keep without removing them?

Yeah, cops in V aren't really into the whole " arrest them" thing. They just shoot on sight. Who knows why it was removed. Maybe the developers were partial to sea shark getaways.

It’s just interesting that we set it several times in the Franklin trailer

cant remember

I have a theory that the feature exists in the engine but then got broken and never fixed. Kinda like the tail/reverse lights not working in TBoGT.

American cop simulator

Joke aside, I'm pretty sure that the animations for arrests still exist in the files for the game. Don't know if anybody has ever try to activate them, however.

Would had been nice to have this feature and I thought it was gonna be in the game back then, would be more realistic of cops actually arresting NPCs.

We will probably see it with GTA VI there. The cops did arrest a character, was Poppy Mitchell in Strangers & Freaks, other than that don't remember it anywhere else.

Maybe the developers were onto something actually. :kekw:

Please sir I beg you to fix the disc so that it does contain again arrests and foot chase. Oh and crouch too if you can while you’re at it. Then just mail me the ps3 disc once you’re done. Thank you!!!

i also remember a pre release screenshot of people getting arrested too. i always enjoyed watching cops chase and arrest npcs in gta 4. and they actually got in the back of the car and drove off. i hope it will be like that in gta 6. also the trailer has an unused line from Lamar. "enjoy them hoes homie". as far as i know it's never heard in the game. maybe it was from a cut mission.

tbh it wouldn't surprise me if those scenes were made just for the trailer, like most of the 1st trailer was just animations and props made just for that trailer

For trailer 1 in 2011 since the game was way far from being ready there's some parts of the map missing in that trailer and even the pedestrian models looked better and have more realistic movement, so yes it seemed to be animated partly (unless that's how the game was really gonna be) but for the other trailers that came a year later why would they need to do that there as well? It sure does look like a cutscene that was removed more so than a feature though.

To me it looks like the same animation that they use for arresting in GTA IV, just with handcuffs. I could definitely see it being a part of gameplay but just being filmed with the cameras the way they are making it look like a cutscene. The trailers have always done stuff like that
