hola, tengo un problema en el momento en que voy al casino Caligula, me sale un mensaje de error del postman y al darle continue se cierra el juego, uso windows 11 y el OS es de 64 bits.

Me sale este error:

IMPORTANT - READ BEFORE REPORTING ANYTHING

Game cannot start:
- You did not follow the instructions in the readme
- You don't have administrator permission for the folder where The Challenge is located
- Your computer has a deprecated OS or hardware (or some 32 bits system)

Game crashes:
- Randomly -> You have the wrong AUDIO folder -> Download my AUDIO folder in that case
- In the same place or same mission -> You did not follow the instructions in the readme -> read it again
- You have added other mods -> Some mods are NOT compatible -> It will break missions and crash
- You have removed some parts of The Challenge -> It will break missions and crash

For any other cases there is no solution.
If you have glitches to show or constructive suggestions - for that matter I can and will read those.

SOMEONE HELP ME THAT THE GAME IS LOW IN FPS

You have posting the same on youtube but here are some important points:
- There are as few mods added as possible, they are all lightweight
- All the cars, skins, guns etc. added are similar to SA style so lightweight again

- You need some recent libraries for some plugins, so if your computer is too old it will not work
- I did run the mod on 2 old laptops from 2011 and 2013, never went below 30 FPS (win 7 and 8.1)

Very useful thanks. To be honest i uninstalled the mod because it crashed on me twice but i'm gonna reinstall because someone else told me crashes are not that common and that i was just unlucky

If it crashes often you may have the wrong AUDIO folder, simple as that

Horseshoes have been replaced by "Counterfeit Chips"

Version 1.4 is coming in the upcoming weeks, working for the 100%:

- Plenty of fixes, improvements and balancing

- A lot of missions are being reworked

- Almost all the side missions are being modified with new rewards

- More random events, more useful ones and improved the older ones

- New vehicles, new variations, new spawns, more mission vehicles

- No more blocked locations, random events appear instead

- Plenty of scripts making the game more fun and harder (CJ will blow up if he hold grenades and goes near fire, for example)

- Crosshair is back, but very subtle

I don't care about girlfriends, I'm spending countless hours on missions and maybe in 8 years I will think about them

I found this mod and i literally registered this account just to give you some feedback because i think it is an awesome thing that people still care about this game

There are some mission too easy and other a proper nightmare the main advice that i can give you is

IT IS OK:

Make target vehicles faster, bulletproof, harder to destroy
Spawn ALOT more enemies with better weapons.

Make the player squishier and easier to kill

ITS Quite not OK and can be quite frustating

Give the enemies overpowered weapons.

Cutting the timer too shorts to to complete a mission in a given time (Home Invasion is this example, you have time to pick 3-4 crates, not all of them and this gives me OCD)

One of the best thing about the crosshair is that i would implement a config option to enable/disable it

And the other thing that i would ABSOLUTLEY do is to disable auto-aim with a gamepad, somethings like shooting while avoiding red drums (Robbing Uncle Sam) with autoaim are WAAAAY to easy

If i find anything else i will update the post, let me know what do you think about it

It's ok to give enemies overpowered weapons since you can use rifles, satchels and rockets to your advantage while most NPCs can't use them as well.
Timer is approximately +30 seconds added from the speedrun strategies so it's more than doable. There are multiple ways to finish most missions too.

Crosshair will be back as a small dot like I said here, on youtube and twitch. No disable/enable.

I will NOT disable the auto-aim with a gamepad since both gamepads and mouse/KB have pros and cons:

- Despite having the auto-aim advantage, gamepads don't have quick and precise free aim which is HUGE advantage for mouse and KB.
- KB/mouse players can despawn traffic and roadblocks, which is a big disadvantage for gamepad players.

I have been working countless hours on 1.4 and most of the complaints have been fixed and resolved already, including most of what you said.

Still appreciate your suggestions and ready to read more.

Extra:

Some scripts will be added to either increase / decrease the difficulty. As well autosave and keeping guns when wasted (not heavy weapons though).

Hello. I keep crashing while doing the snapshots from Las Venturas (three times to be exact; two times in front of the sphinx and once in Caligula at the fountain). I can take the snapshots from San Fierro just fine, after doing the 50 there I fly to LV and then crash at a random number of snapshots. It's the only collectible I've had problems with.

Game has crashed, here's a crash log:
Current process ID: 25420

At the third attempt of trying to bite the bullet with the sphinx, it worked just fine and Caligula's was the run killer. Sorry if it turns out to be a problem on my end, as everything seems to work just fine with everything else. I'll keep troubleshooting in the meanwhile. Thanks in advance.

Extra information

I like this mod a lot but at some points in the game it's very unstable, so far I've crashed multiple times while starting some Jizzy missions and now in Don Peyote. The Don Peyote crash happens randomly like the crash in Jizzy missions, it happens when I enter the marker to pick up Kent and Maccer. The crash has to do with player clothing for some reason according to the logs (source: fastman92 limit adjuster crash log, CrashInfo pdb file and crash list), even though I'm wearing vanilla clothing*. The game is a completely unmodified v1.0 US copy with The Challenge 1.3 installed and the game executable patched with largeaddress. The audio folder is completely identical to the one you provided.

* EDIT: for some reason when it doesn't crash, the cutscene shows old clothing that I'm no longer wearing which is not vanilla, then when I'm no longer in the cutscene I'm back to my usual clothes.

oh and also I crashed at the end of the mission once as well but I don't think I saved the crash log, I'll keep you updated if it happens again

EDIT 2: crash at end of Don Peyote is also caused by clothing, crashes in the same function

Some Jizzy mission crash log, this is the only log I saved, the "Last file to be loaded" was always some audio file but not always ambience like in this log

Don Peyote crash log 2

Disable "Save photos in gallery" option in settings that should fix it.

You don't have full permissions on the folder where the challenge is. It's getting old.

What do you mean executable patched with largeaddress? DO NOT TRY TO PATCH IT it's already patched to 1.0 and ready to go.

On top of that you seem to run out of memory*

nvm, i found the problem, when you have the user track player on the car, if you get out of the car and enter again but pressing the shift key (i think), the game just crashes

A largeaddress patch is meant to let the game use more than 2GB of RAM. That's the only thing I changed and it should not be causing any side effects. Look here

I just made the entire game directory not read-only, apparently some files were read-only, I'll let you know if this has fixed anything. I'll also try without the patch even though it shouldn't cause any problems.

Everything has been modified and tweaked to some extent, including how much memory is used.

If you modify the game because you think you know better then any issues are none of my concern and there is no point in reporting.

Without the largeaddress flag I mentioned, the game is limited to only 2GB of RAM. It doesn't matter what mods you have. It's a 1 bit change in the PE headers. There's proof of this, and other modders, including Silent, agree with this. The executable you provide in your mod does not have this flag set. Either way it doesn't matter because I'm not running out of memory like you said.

Anyway, your fix didn't help regardless of the patch, but I think I figured out what the problem is. I think it only crashes if I watch a replay, and I have non-vanilla clothing in the replay. Not playing replays that have modded clothing seems to fix the issue consistently.

I guess something about the modded clothing is bugged since it crashes in "CClothesBuilder::ConstructGeometryAndSkinArrays" everytime and CrashInfo says the same, and not playing replays with modded clothing fixes the issue. The replay has the Sprunk T-Shirt from Binco if that helps. The rest is vanilla.

I hope your day gets better and that the information I got from looking into the crash logs helps

Edit: turns out avoiding modded clothing and replays doesn't even fully fix it, I'm still crashing, this time it's crashing at the very end of the mission on the same address as that Jizzy mission. Crash log

I don't care what X or Y says. I setup everything to minimize crashes so if you modify the game in any way your report is useless to fix any issues.

I played this more than 40 hours and had 3 crashes that I found the source and fixed in 1.4. I did play all the way with custom clothing too so no, you don't know what you are talking about.

If there are any other crashes it's usually because people don't have privileges on the folder, don't follow the readme to the letter or have problems with their OS.

You refuse to follow simple directions and think that you have all the answers. It's getting really annoying.

I did everything you said, undid all the patches and the game still crashed in the exact same way, which instructions did I refuse to follow?

You give random incorrect reasons as to why the game might be crashing while I took the time to read the logs and debug the game so you have an easier time figuring out the crashes and all you do is act like an asshole. If it has nothing to do with custom clothing, then why is the game crashing in a function responsible for clothing, and why is it known to crash in that specific address if there's issues with clothing? And why does it stop crashing when the replay no longer has custom clothing? Just because you're the developer of the mod doesn't mean you know better than everyone else, and even if you did, your reasoning as to why the game is crashing is not even correct. In one post you say you have no idea what the patch I mentioned does, then in the next one you say it's the source of all problems (even though all of this happens without the patch). I know debugging is harder than guessing the crash reason, hoping it's correct and telling others they don't know what they're saying even though the crash logs prove their point, so I'll do it for you again: this time the crash at the end of Don Peyote happens in sals_car.cs on this line (there are no patches, don't blame any patch this time)

03C0: 0@ = actor $PLAYER_ACTOR car

For some reason this crashes most of the time when executed in the cutscene that happens when you enter the marker at Caligula's in Don Peyote. Crash logs and a tool called SCRLog say so. If you still think I don't know what I'm talking about I can post proof, same with the clothing crash. The fact that you act this way towards someone that's trying to help you fix a bug in your mod is sad.

As I said, some crashes were found and resolved in 1.4 like the sals_car script and some others (decompiled without authorization, who's the asshole here huh?).

Even in 1.3 there are no game breaking crashes, only occasional ones, so yes, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

You have not been helpful and keep speculating. Many people finished the whole mod with little to no crashes so stop acting like it's a broken mess.

What needs to be fixed has been fixed in 1.4 but until then you will have to wait.

If all I do is act like an asshole feel free to not play it and let the others do so. It's going to be sad for you not being able to enjoy 1.4. Don't bother.
