So What Is It?

This pack contains higher resolution textures from Max Payne 3, Grand Theft Auto V and original sources for ALL vehicles ported back to Grand Theft Auto IV, including clean up, colour correction and minor fixes/adjustments. Also included in the anniversary edition is the new license plate system which covers ALL in-game vehicles and also features special plates for things such as Police, Taxi's, Motorcycles, etc. Nearly all assets have been touched up and improved in some way, included graffiti, grunge, dirt, etc, to give ALL vehicles in the game an overall improved look that's faithful and accurate. This pack is designed to be the go to mod for new and returning players to this game.

 

This pack has been in the works for multiple years ever since I first started by just doing an improved vehshare file on my workshop.

 

So What's Included?

The ZIP file contains all the vehicles WTD texture files, simply use a program like OpenIV to open and edit the vehicles.img file and just drag and drop the new textures into the archive. The vehicles.img file can be found in the following directory:

Don't forget to increase your Vehicle Budget via BudgetedIV for this mod to avoid the "taxi bug".

That's why you adjust your Vehicle Budget, which you should be doing anyway no matter what you touch as anything other than the default will cause it. Unless you're pointing out that screenshot, yeah, some photos will show the bug because I didn't adjust it every time I made a change and tested a vehicle out.

Should i increase VehicleBudget in my FusionFix ini? It's 120000000 right now what should i set there?

It depends on what other mods you have in there, for me I just have it set to the combined size of all three vehicle.IMG's with just my mod and that came out around 506188032, so anything higher than that should be ok.

After installing these packs, it really feels like all cars got more cleaner.  Even to the point that had to use trainer and see if dirt level is working. 

Yap, it works, and cars do get dirtier. But in traffic, I cannot remember when I saw really dirty ones. 

 

Does this pack somehow adjusts such parameter? Because based on filenames, feels it shouldn't. 

Otherwise I don't remember installing other car related mods than this, and one with number plates.

It's not the texture issue. Have no complains about default one. 

But the dirt values for spawned cars, feels like got lower than usual. 

 

CoolStoryBob, seems like I actually changed vehicles.ide, with something newer. But with WHAT. On other hand, dirt levels there are same. =\

False alert, the file comes from Console Visuals mod, sorry for bothering.

I think this mod interferes with the way friend hangouts work. There were some issues with NPC's entering cars for a hangout and immediately exiting them, which glitches out the game because it still believes you're on a friend mission despite the character themselves walking off. Means you can't save or do solo activities.

This mod doesn't change script files so it can't be doing what you've stated. Sounds like another mod causing the issue.

I only have a couple of script mods and don't really know which one could be causing my issue.

Check if there's anything conflicting or use the "update" folder method, this mod literally just replaces textures.

Looks like I had somehow corrupted my save somewhere along the way. Sorry for coming to a false conclusion and assuming it was your mod.

Hello, first of all, thank you for this mod. I've always loved these types of vanilla mods. I had a question for the installion. Sorry for my english.

 

I have the CE version of the game and wanted to install it with FF without changing the files. I put the files you gave in the updates folder that came with the FF feature, but the textures did not work. Is it necessary to compress the .wtd files with IMG? Thank you.

I noticed that sometimes when booting up the game the vehicle models will despawn for a second and then reappear. Is this a known issue and is there a solution?

 

Edit: Just noticed the mention of adjusting the Vehicle Budget earlier in the thread, will do that.

I tried but the game keeps crashing in the same place. The game running Dxwrapper and -windowed. Could it have anything to do with them? It's so sad that I can't play with this mod.

What are your computer specs because it shouldn't be affecting memory performance THAT much.

Ryzen 5 5600x

32GB ram 3200 MHz

Windows 11

where do you guys usually crash?

 

My other tip would be to delete -nomemrestrict from commandline and include -memrestrict xxxxxxxxxx (documented in more detail here) This was something I had to use on my AMD card as I had word disappearing issues and then eventually crash at certain locations/missions in the city.

For example, when I pass by Hickey Bridge, the game crashes directly. It was crashing again during a mission. It fixes itself when I delete the mod.

 

I'll try memrestrict method.

As I said Mod works very well but it has crashing problem. It's one of the mods I really want to use.

This problem is definitely caused by vehicles budget. Whenever I set the value it crashes and when I get 0 everything is fine but this time the taxi spawn issue occurs. The mod is no problem because the mod consists of texture. Can anything be done?

dont use more than 9 digit budget  I use 165xxxxxx personally with 300 cars. never use more that 250xxxxxx in my experience it wont end well

I don't know what else to suggest, I know it's annoying to hear but it works fine here on CE with FusionFix and the vehicle budget set higher. The only thing I've noticed similar between the two crash reports is Windows 11 but surely an OS can't be causing this?
