Why did the Diablos target a Staunton Island grocery store in the mission "Shima"?

I've asked this in the comments of the post before me of the guy's headcanon about Claude's Shoresidevale Safehouse , and I was inspired to find more inexplicit stuff about GTA 3 , so I've made a compact video investigating this subject but I'm still really confused.

Well, I am afraid that they picked this particular shop as it is paying protection money to the Yakuza and it's probably the only logical reason. I mean, this could happen several times to other gangs too because judging by the weapons the Diablos are carrying, they are quite weak as a gang. This kind of stuff is common where some small gangs try to get a cut from other gangs or simply try to irritate them just for the sake of it - although I gotta admit that it's a bit stupid cause the Yakuza could step on them really hard if they only wanted to and eradicate them completely out of existence. The Diablos do have some contributions from prostitution and possibly El Burro's adult film business but besides that, nothing more frankly speaking.
