Orto_Dogge
We're never told how Claude got it. Portland's safehouse is 8-Ball's place where they can lay low, and Staunton Island's safehouse is provided by Asuka. But what about Shoreside Vale safehouse? Well, I have a headcanon that it's just Claude's apartment. Claude and Catalina moved to Liberty City some time before the beginning of the game, so it's logical that they would buy or rent an apartment. It also makes sense that it's located near Colombian Cartel territory because they've been working with them. It's nothing fancy: just an apartment in the projects with a big garage. Exactly like something Claude would rent for himself. And he couldn't get there in the beginning of the game simply because bridges were destroyed. I like this part, because it makes the story of the game not only about revenge, but also about returning home. "But why Catalina didn't send assassins there?" you might ask. She actually did! In the mission "Bait" there are three death squads waiting for Claude on Shoreside Vale. Why would they look for him on Shoreside Vale if he never been there before in the game? Because he lived there before the events of the game. Even the positions of the death squads are covering three entrances to Wichita Gardens: one from Pike Creek and two from Upstate. They are waiting for him to come home. "But why Catalina doesn't live there by herself?". Because, as she stated herself in the intro, she's an ambitious girl. She got rid of Claude and moved to the huge mansion. But Claude is just a small time and doesn't need a mansion: he's perfectly happy with his little place in Wichita Gardens. And that's why by the end of the game she's dead and he's alive: Catalina's ambitions and greed became her own undoing. I think this headcanon is really neat and I wanted to share it with you. Hope you liked it as much as I did. 2L8, 98 in 1 and Evil empire
