Michael is awfully overrated (Franklin and Trevor are both worthy characters)

Honestly, I don't get why many people's favourite is Michael. As someone who is currently playing GTA V, Michael is a rubbish character which if I could replace would. The problem is, he's totally whiny and dependent and problematic. I know, some people hate Trevor for being too angry person and Franklin for being boring but what about Michael? He can't even take care of his family properly and always creates problems for both his wife and his children. Plus, you got say, he's boring too as when you switch him, all he's doing is watching TV, smoking or just sitting in his car with his head down on the wheel or just sitting on the chair near his pool out in the sun, feeling guilty for his mistakes. Isn't that boring? Now people hate Franklin for looking too much like CJ but Michael looks more like Tommy Vercetti so what's so special about Michael that he is not getting hate? Another thing is, Franklin does have an interesting story, infact all characters do. Franklin's story was that, he had a father who was abusive to his mother and his mother died due to having a problem of cocaine. Franklin's story was just as interesting as Michael so what's so special about him that he is getting more hate than Michael. Another thing is that, Franklin does have a personality for saving people and being the least annoying of the trio. And not only is Michael a rip-off of Tommy Vercetti but he's not very nice person. Like, he is not too loyal and always mean to his family and his friend, Trevor. He also cheated on Trevor once. Honestly, if I would pick the best character, it would be Trevor because, he cared about the Trio and saved both his friends a lot of time. Franklin is the 2nd best because, he like Trevor, cared about his friends and was loyal too and less annoying. IMO, Michael sucks because, he not only faked his death but he was quite like a child in the story because, mostly Trevor or Franklin saved him. Trevor saved Michael from the FIB enemies and Franklin saved Michael from the Chinese Mafia. Honestly, Trevor and Franklin were way better characters than him. Michael can't be the best character in the game because, not only did he cheat on trevor and brad, faking his death but he can't even take care of his family and that's why they left him. His family was right about him plus Michael ruined Tracey's friendship. All of this proves that Michael is the guy that's bad, not Trevor and Franklin. Franklin saved Trevor and Michael and Trevor saved Michael and Franklin created peace by ending all arguments and prepared his mates for any fight that was going. But did Michael try to save anyone instead of just getting himself in trouble? No! Trevor and Franklin both had to save him independently but all Michael only did was what he was told to. That's enough of my rant!

In my optinion he's really not that bad. I see a lot of people say that they don't like Michael. Yeah he is whiny and he does complain a lot, but you would too if you'd seen the things he's seen and done the things he's done. I get why people don't like him as much though, and he is one of the characters that I play in SP a lot less frequently than Trevor and Franklin. Mostly I play using Franklin, he, in my opinion is the best character out if the three of them. He is the best character to go to the police station with and insult the police until they chase after you because he has the best insults. And I love the cop that screams "SCREW YOU ALL" when he's chasing you.

Ok, but him whining about complexities is not the problem. The problem is, the way Michael treats his family, plus, he uses both Trevor and Franklin. He is quite unfaithful to his wife, that's the thing tho. Michael is more like Amanda had a kid in her classroom that can't even act normally or be faithful. Michael acts childishly. That's the problem.

He does whine a lot, so I understand what you're saying. He is not very nice to his family, which is wy they all walked out on him... This is making me want to play the story again.

Ok, but what about the fact that he gets too excited on small things. Like, he thinks he is a movie producer just because, he saw "Associate Producer: Michael Desanta" but he ain't a movie producer. It was only written that way because, he is succesful. He also is worried about trivial stuff such as when, he lost his yacht but at least he got a son

Michael's a chump but they simply devoted more time and focus to his story and gave him the most character development during the game. Whereas Franklin's character development was woefully neglected, and although Trevor had a bit more he's more of a divisive "love him or hate him" character and some people were too put off by his personality to enjoy him. Michael can be seen as the more interesting/better character of the three for this reason. Because a character is a sh*tty person (eg in Michael's case being disloyal, a hypocrite and also very gullible) that doesn't mean they're not an interesting/good character.
