Welcome back to Vice City, this time, it's not quite 24-karat gold anymore.

Sunny_Isles_Beach_John_Higgins_9560_1440

kuOmKRF.png

With inspiration taken from the elegant crimes and comedies of the 60s (High and Low, slightly on How to Steal a Million), the decadence of the 80s (Scarface, Miami Vice), and modern life in Miami, that defines how the story plays out.

Welcome back to a city you won't recognize, in a way it hasn't been shown before.

Most students at the University of Vice City think that they will have a secure, bright future when they graduate. In the modern world, that's mostly true. But there are some times that life doesn't prepare you for. Rising Yakuza, Gang, and Mafia prevalence has led to Vice City becoming the only city behind Los Santos to be an international icon, but still dangerous. Republican Mayor Fernández has won the vote in a traditionally liberal city and promises to establish Vice City as a city of art, by making sure that no one makes "the wrong type of art."  Pop and EDM have taken over the club scene, and theme parks are getting taken over by Gov. Donald DeAngelos' administration. On the west coast, liberal policies and exuberant shopping prices satisfy most who come to visit another city besides Vice City. Essanto and St. Joseph are cultural centers on this coast and have more diversity than any Vinewood movies are legally allowed to have. The Gator Keys are the island destinations for Vice natives, mostly due to extreme xenophobia not letting them go to the Bahamas, or someplace interesting. For most Cuban immigrants, the American Dream means money and power, and when has it not? For Gulf War veteran, Sammy Ledger, it's certainly what the government has thought it was. And now, he wants to pass on the message to newcomer Daniel Anderson.

Welcome to Pantanosa, the state where crime lives and chaos is welcomed.

G4cG4on.png

Yes, Pantanosa. The grand state of Pantanosa is an enigma left best for you to figure out. Is it the commie state of the South? Or is it the fascist pit of America? Glamour, Art Deco, and tourists aren't the only things you'll find here. Home to mafias, gangs, crews, and other criminal enterprises, Vice City is once again aiming to be the international capital of the world when it comes to beauty, art, and cocaine overdoses.

Here, you can gaze upon the theme parks of Theme Park City, Jernigan, visit the beaches of Vinewood-Luther, Ft. Maitland, and take in the consumerism of Espectaculo, Vice City. Go on spring break with college students at Port Gellhorn's polluted beaches, wander in Isthmus Key,  Cottonmouth, and cheer on another SERA launch in Francis Space Center, Cabo Naval. See how the Baby Boomers take on retirement in Rockefeller, Perugia, take in the scents of horse manure and incest in Leonida, hike small, grassy mountains like Mt. Hobe, and say "Kifflom!" in Kraff Beach, Springharbor. Last but not least, visit St. Joseph's marinas and museums, then take a stroll through the countless historic districts of Essanto, like Castro.

Here, you can find the official map for all things SoPan (but keep in mind that this map is still being worked on, so this map WILL change),

and HERE you will soon find a full list of neighborhoods in Pantanosa.

OEIZZOP.png

Protagonists

Daniel "Danny" Anderson: a recently-graduated student at Pantanosa International University. He never really wanted to get into crime, but sometimes the world just does that to you. Being a novice that can handle a gun, he has some of the best skills for the business, most of them being about his youth. But something he's currently unaware of is how he should never let greed get in the way of relationships, emotions, and whatnot, but who's going to teach him that? Will he learn?

Samuel "Sam" Ledger: a recent divorceé, who has had to live with the pain of the Gulf War since the age of 19. He had been dealing with drug issues earlier in life, but soon learned that nothing is gained without work. After meeting Danny, he soon wishes to pass on this life lesson in a very troubling way: getting them both to the top of the criminal world. But shouldn't he change? Should he give up the only way to get his mind off the horrors of his own life?

Side Characters

Antonia Antonaccia girl you don't want to get on your bad side. After meeting Danny and Sam through her father's daily missions, 'Toni Toni' has certainly gotten to be close to the protagonists. She's known for being quite the diplomat, often searching for the best solution, but she needs a bit of pressure to really apply herself.

Don Ralph Antonacci: The guy who picked up Daniel off the streets, after he got robbed for everything he had. The Antonacci family is not that distant from the Ancelotti family in Liberty, which has led many to believe that Antonacci is in talks with the Ancelottis. One thing is for sure, that is no one leaves the Antonacci family unless they're dead or old. What he doesn't know is that he will be Danny and Sam's ex-employer pretty soon, who want to get past their lowly gunrunning jobs and get into real crime.

Maria Antonacci: Pretty active in the family for just a Mafia Donna, she is one of the highest-ranking in the family. Ruling with an iron fist, she deals with people harsher than even her husband could. Initially suspicious of Daniel, she doesn't let him get too involved with the family's business too much, but soon trusts him.

Jimmy Colombo: A soldier from the Antonacci family, he usually gets involved when someone has trouble coughing up the money they owe, but thinks he's much more important than that. Friends with Danny, but not much more, until Danny offers a high position in his major criminal activities.

HUGE REMINDER: This is my first concept, so I welcome all and any criticisms/comments. Remember that this is all very W.I.P.

In these next few days, I'll try to start the story and missions.

And hey, thanks for reading!:turn:

Looks promising so far, unique choices of inspirations. Give me a strong vibe of old Gray Valley concept by ClaudX. Feel free to shoot me a message if you need help.

Thank you, I'll probably try to do more today. If not, I'll at least try to start setting up the list of districts:p

Yeah, so far I'm taking inspiration from it too, because of how the younger protag basically devolves into crime. Going forward with this concept, he won't be so regretful though. And thanks for the offer, I think I'll most probably find something to need help with in the future😅

Vice City, 1991

Escobar International Airport (VIA), Night

Radio in this scene auto-plays "Peg" by Steely Dan

Sam walks out of the Airport with a somber look on his face and hails a taxi.

Taxi Driver: Hey, how's it?

Sam: Not too bad

Taxi Driver: Where ya goin'?

Sam: Levertown (Overtown IRL)

Taxi Driver: Aiight.

As they drive away, the screen fades to black, shows the logo, then the game fades back in

Vice City, 2023

Pantanosa International University, Day

Danny walks out of P.I.U with a happy look on his face. The recent graduate gets into his car and drives to Negrand (Ojus)

Radio in this scene auto-plays "Slumber Party" by Britney Spears

As he drives to Negrand, the opening credits start playing.

When he gets to a restaurant, he gets out of the car, only to be robbed by a man outside.

The screen then fades to a few hours later.

???: Hello? Are you alright, sir?

Danny: (Getting off the ground) If you can call hurt being okay.

Employee: Wait, stay right here, I'll call for an ambulance.

??: Don't. We'll take him in.

Danny: Who are you?

??: It'll all be explained soon. Don't worry. Just come back soon...

Not to be confused with an actual member of these forums, Made Man, hehehehe... is anyone laughing?

Intro Cutscene

Back at the pizza parlor, 2 weeks later

Danny: Hello? Is anyone in here?

He looks through the window, and can't find anyone.

??: I'm right behind ya.

Danny jolted backward, but look relatively calm

Danny: So who are you?

??: I'm Ralph Antonacci. There's no need for more information about me, but I've got a proposition for you.

Danny: Really?

Ralph: You come to work for me, no questions asked, and I'll give you everything you've ever wanted. I just need you to start now.

Danny: Sure, I'll take it. Living out of the Y Hotel isn't really high society living.

Ralph: Great, get into the car, and I'll call you as you start driving.

Heads up: this typography denotes what a player would have to do in the mission.

Drive to Washington Mall

Ralph A. is calling you.

Ralph: I need you to help this guy understand that the economy is headed for a recession, and if he doesn't pay now, we're taking extreme measures.

Danny: I'm no business major, but that doesn't really sound like something a pizza parlor would be in charge of.

Ralph: Well it is. Don't put shame on the Antonacci name.

Danny: Antonacci... Wait, I've heard that name before! You're part of the Mafia Commission. Are you making me do a mob hit for you?

Ralph: Not a hit, just a slight touch. Plus, you work for us now, and we need young people in our organization.

Danny: Fine, but only until I can afford stuff myself.

Ralph: Sure. Do you know if you have any Italian heritage, particularly Sicily?

Danny: My... grandmother's Sicilian.

Ralph: Eh, we're basically paisanos! Come on, do well on this job, and you might even land a job in this business. And everyone knows that crime pays!

Danny: Sure, well this has been riveting, but I'm almost there, so-

Ralph: There's a gun behind the mall, find it, and use it.

Danny: Wait, gun?

The Call was ended by Ralph A.
Pick up the gun

Danny: Here goes nothing...

Daniel A. started a call.

Danny: I got the gun. How do I know which one is him?

Ralph: From Salvatore's credit cards, we know he likes to shop for the women in his life. All 6 of them. Check out Poshman's Mark, that's where his last spending was tracked to.

The Call was ended by Ralph A.

Go to Poshman's Mark and find Salvatore

Danny: A man with 6 bags full of dresses. Unless he's cooking meth or about to jump into a pit of alligators, I think this is the guy.

Threaten Salvatore

Danny: You've made a lot of people upset, Salvatore.

Salvatore: Please, I need the money to buy my girls some dresses, or else they might start getting suspicious! What if they tell my wife?

Danny: Pay up, now.

Shoot Salvatore

Danny: Eurgh, and they say gun violence is a problem in this country.

Return to Ralph's Pizzeria

Ending Cutscene

Ralph: You've done well, kid. How about you join us? You've certainly got promise.

Danny: I don't know, killing people for a living?

Ralph: Well, I've gotta say, you certainly got a holier-than-thou attitude. Let's not forget who has a mansion on Areca Island, and who has no house. I was thinking of leasing you our Palmlands safehouse, but I guess if you won't be an accomplice, I ain't gonna offer you nothin'.

Danny: Who's harmed by the killing of a few people? No one, I'll take the job.

Ralph: I thought you would. Now get the hell out of my office before I change my mind.

Next Mission: Hush Money

Alright, one mission down, a million left to go... I'll probably start the gameplay, hobbies/activities, and radio stations tomorrow or the day after. I'll probably be working the most on weekends though, so don't expect daily updates during weekdays. Actually, don't expect anything.

Not bad. What exactly is it the mafia saw in a random guy that got injured in the street though? Not that I mind. I enjoy a wacky story. But is this going to be the theme consistently or are you going to make it more serious?

Haha! Thanks for the heads up. We all do this though :)

"or about to jump into a pit of alligators" I like that.

It’ll start being more serious, but I wanted to make the beginning kind of like IV’s beginning, where things are lighter and not as serious as they will be.
Also I don’t think I explained the mafia thing well lol. I meant to make dialogue about how the pizza place was a mafia front, and the robbery was orchestrated. Danny has a closer connection to the mafia than he thinks.

If 5-hour traffic in complete silence doesn't appeal to you very much, consider radio as an alternative.

ccQFQy3.png

Latin, Reggaeton, Latin Pop, Bachata, Cumbia

If Vice City being a majority Hispanic population DIDN'T make you think it was a major culture, what are you even doing here in Vice? Connect yourself with the music you don't understand and the people you don't care about, and live the life of a true Pantanosan. Ignore actual musical lyricism and assure yourself that the music is either talking about how sad or in love they are. Be part of the weekend commute to the beach with the radio host and Bar Mitzvah DJ, DJ Maldad.

Hard Rock, Metal, Rock, Alternative, Hair Metal, New Wave, Goth, Glam Rock, Punk, Psychedelic,

Vice City is the CAPITAL of nostalgia, and why wouldn't it be? It used to get a lot of airtime on MeTV until it became some fraternity's playground. Now the only reason it's on MeTV is 'cause that one guy from that one app did something not that interesting. Of course, the times have moved away from controversial rock and moved towards consumerist pop. Some people still remember what rock stands for,  going to rehab for intense drug usage and having a good time. We're here to let you hear soundwaves from the late 60s to the 90s, the times when Rock n Roll was the behemoth it wishes it could be today.

I'll be working on the radios every 3 missions, I would say. Anyways, as always, W.I.P, y'know. I'll get back to story missions tomorrow, then after that, my schedule will start to get a bit erratic (aka I'll be getting lots of work to do:sui:), so I'll start uploading more information but only on weekends probably.
