Face The Music
Alright. Let's get this out of the way: Yes, songs were cut from San Andreas. RLS lost Let Me Ride (Dr. Dre) and Gin and Juice (Snoop Dogg), confirmed by Death Row Records. K-Jah West lost Ring The Alarm by Tenor Saw and Bam Bam by Sister Nancy, confirmed by Royalty Network. But Gamesradar published a pretty extensive list of songs in 2003 that included quite a number that didn't end up in the game. Regrettably, it seems the original post is long gone, but a forum post on Neowin lists all the songs on the lists, plus the fact that there were at one point apparently 22 radio stations. Salt-N-Pepa - Push It (1986) Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby (1990) Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy (1991) The Fugees - Killing Me Softly (1996) Poison - Every Rose Has Its Thorn (1988) Guns N’ Roses - Sweet Child o’ Mine (1987) The KLF - 3 a.m. Eternal (1991) N.W.A. - f*ck Tha Police (1988) N.W.A. - 100 Miles and Runnin’ (1990) Snoop Dogg feat. Nate Dogg, Warren G and Kurupt - Ain’t No Fun (If The Homies Can’t Have None) (1993) Warren G feat. Nate Dogg - Regulate (1994) Coolio - Gangsta’s Paradise (1995) Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit (1991) Happy Mondays - Step On (1990) Radiohead - Creep (1992) The Smashing Pumpkins - Today (1993) The Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony (1997) Inner Circle - Bad Boys (1987) It was thought fake at first, but @CarsonGT (yes, that Carson) at least somewhat verified it considering a few songs that actually made it in were on the list. There were other rumored ones too - something by the Stones, and Cream's White Room. Combined with a similar amount of cut Vice City songs, I asked GTA Wiki if I could add them in. When nobody replied, and somebody else added the tidbit of Video Killed the Radio Star originally being on Wave, I just went ahead and added them. Though the Vice City cut songs stayed, no less than 5 hours after I added the San Andreas songs, they were gone, "revealed to be untrue" and "merely speculation by Gamesradar" being the reasons. Even the Death Row and Royalty Network confirmations were gone. I recieved a shiny new warning on my GTA Wiki talk page as well. So the question is - Were the Gamesradar songs actually real cut songs? If not, what evidence is there that Gamesradar was lying? Oh, btw, I was going to add songs onto the GTA IV and GTA V Beta Releases pages (Royalty Network confirmations and the Carson Beta findings, which somehow HAVE STILL NOT BEEN ADDED). But after the San Andreas incident, I might not. EDIT: Oh, of course, NOW the pot is being stirred over Save a Prayer in Vice City. Although it turns out Crowded House got cut from VC. So yeah. EDIT 2: Christ. "There is no proof that the Death Row records songs are correct neither. All we have are forum posts that claim it was "quickly deleted". Stop. Muddying. The. Water. Don't add anything unless you have a source for it, and no, GTAForums or Neogaf posts are not sources (unless they, themselves have sources or prove something)." So somehow the Death Row songs are false too, despite multiple credible members saying they were cut? My golly. MGgames100
1. ALL OF IT, is a speculation. On the same god damn Neowin forum post, just few replies below you can see that it was all just a speculation. Half of the god damn songs don't even fit the game's setting... 2. You say "Save a Prayer" was said to be true by Craig Conner on PS Magazine but nObOdY CaN fInD ThE mAgAzInE... Cool. Here is a scavage hunt for you, go find it... Once you find it, you can go and slap it on the Wiki, because you'll have an actual proof. Same goes to the Crowded House, you point out to a specific song from the album, but do you have an actual source for it? Is it "Don't Dream It's Over"? Most likely... But "most likely" isn't enough, only the artists is mention, that is the only fact that's confirmed. Till then it's all hearsay from 2004 online forums. 3. With all due and respect to CarsonGT, he isnt the deity on the cut songs. He was at the right place and at the right time. He just bought PS3 Devkit, that's about it... 4. Unlike you, I rechecked every mention of Death Row and GTA SA I could possibly find for now, and they either lead to dead links or to fan forums. "Deleted hours after posting" has the same energy as "my dad works at the Nintendo". Even if you'd assume that they were telling the truth... Riddle me this then: WHY THEY DIDN'T MENTION THE REST OF THE GOD DAMN RADIO LS SOUNDTRACK THEY PROVIDED? Deep Cover? F*ck Wit Dre Day? Apply some logic here... 5. I guess Aqua - Barbie Girl was on San Juan Sounds and Soulja Boi - "Yahhh Bitch Yahh!" was on the Classics 104.1... The pre-GTA IV's release site said so, so it must be true... Why did you created this topic in the first place? To B&M about how Wikia bad, because they want their site to have factual information and not some sh*tposting from 2004 forums stated as facts? What does this have to do with GTA SA? Edited Sunday at 05:08 PM by MGgames100
