How can Claude be on his own

I was wondering how can Claude be on his own when he can’t even talk not to be mean but that just seems unusual first time ever seen that have you all ever thought of that

He may not talk but he can handle himself, and I don't think he particularly enjoys the company of others. Perhaps Catalina's betrayal cemented the belief that he can only count on himself and that he should use everybody for his own benefit. I think it's fitting for Claude to have this kind of lone-wolf mentality when it comes to the people he meets.

 

Now, every character accepts that he doesn't speak so they just go straight to the point whenever they need something done. It's not the most organic way to tell this story when your protagonist never says a word but I don't think we're meant to read too much into it. It's quite a simple game with a simple story. I think it works better for an up-and-coming hired-gun whose only goal is to kill the woman who betrayed him than say, Tommy Vercetti, as it would be far stranger for Tommy to never speak when his goal is to create an empire and rule Vice City.

He carries around a pen & notebook in his pocket and if he wants to ask someone something, he’ll just write it in the notebook and show him

For real though he wasn't created as an actual character but as some kind of placeholder/avatar for the player.  afaik as far as playing the vanilla game goes he is even nameless.

They kind of retconned him to be a mute character when he appeared in SA, I think as a joke.

 

I don't really think of him too much as really having a speech disability, because in all the cutscenes none of the characters ever acknowledge it, they talk to him as if Claude talks too but had his lines edited out. Same with for example phone missions, it's weird how the mission giver rambles on about something with complete silence at the other end.
