At least they cared enough to give DoubleEleven agent-free files of RDR, the fx, skyhat (timecycle) etc... files of Agent aren't in the Switch Port. All multiplayer files are there though, I wonder why that didn't make the cut.

theres agent related files in RDR1?? thats so interesting, anything of note? i always wondered about that game.

anyways, I know its quite literally just come out, but do you by any chance have a timeframe for when youll be releasing the switch version of the mod? and, when the switch version releases, will it have the same content as the current release of the xenia mod, or will there be more?

i was very skeptical about the switch emulated version, i figured nothing could beat xenia . however, after comparing the draw distance of all 3 emulated versions (ps3, xbox360, switch) it appears that the switch is quite on par with xenia. they arent the best screencaps but it gets the point across. definitely view these on a monitor, mobile is awful: https://imgur.com/a/rt07ezs

the only thing we need on the switch now, is a mod menu, and this mod. since the switch can run 60fps, 16x anisotropic filtering, and whichever resolution you prefer, + an unlocked depth buffer with reshade, its quickly becoming the best way to play the game

Yes, an update is being worked on.

People reported issues when installing on GOTY edition, I suggest you wait until the next update. It'll be compatible with all versions.

How long it take the update? I think i wait u

When i try install the mod with the .bat isnt work. https://ibb.co/26xk1Bq and show me this

I had the same problem at first. You're supposed to use the " " brackets when typing the name of the ISO. So "Red Dead Redemption.iso", instead of just Red Dead Redemption.iso

There is a unique and rare variation of the RDR logo in the game that is used for the boot screen, spent the day improving it at x3 times the original resolution, feel free to use it, it will also be in the mod obviously.

Also, I'd like you guys to know, as soon as the Switch modding becomes more streamlined, the main version of the mod will be made for that platform, since it's easier to mod and can potentially support up to 4K textures, while Xbox will get updates, it will no longer be the priority.

the latest build of magicRDR now supports WTD files, definitely useful for the likes of you

i implore you to join this server where the majority of long-time RDR1 modders are. there’s a resources channel for creators, etc etc

friendly people, any questions or help you may need, surely they’ll support you

my tool supports compiling wtd(rdr) files completely. This means that you can create new texture containers for rdr switch

So the plan is to upscale most textures? I think the vegetation, rocks and ground textures are the ones that need most care to be honest

Upcoming update for the 360 (Switch will come sometime later)

  • Improved textures (2x and x4 times the original resolution) for all of the roads and trails including town roads for places like Armadillo
  • Improved textures (2x and x4 times the original resolution) for Great Plains
  • Improved animal spawn rate and distance
  • Fixed weird culling issues where players reported random freezes

The next update will also have a few more interesting things, such as major visual improvements, better moon texture, and moon glow. I also fixed the "interior sun flare" bug that happened on XB360.

No more interior sun flare when looking in the sun's direction:

New moon:

Improved clouds, they now somewhat resemble RDR2's non-volumetric clouds:

Hey lenny, enabling “use alternative memory layout” (developers) under the hacks section in the system menu of settings on ryujinx enables support for texture packs in RDR1.

someone had already created a “4k” texture pack for RDR1, and the game will not launch unless this setting is enabled. but, talking with someone else, apparently it forces vsync on at a locked 30fps. not sure if there’s a way around that

Can you send the link for that if there's any please? I couldn't find it by searching on the Google myself.

If you're going to switch (lol) to the Switch version as the main one, do you think you could edit the key bindings to how they worked on X360, please? Because if I map my X360 controller letter to letter (A=A, B=B, X=X, Y=Y), then the menu navigation works normally, but the in game keys (get on/off horse, spur, sprint, jump, etc) are all messed up and my muscle memory keeps screwing me over to no end. And if I map them according the their location, then the game plays fine, but the menu navigation is screwed up and the game keeps showing wrong prompts, which is minor, but still annoying.

I am having trouble creating the modded version of the iso. I downloaded the Reality Redemption Beta, downloaded 2 RDR roms (one of the GOTY edition, one standard), put them in the same folder as the Install.bat file, ran the .bat file, typed in the exact names.iso surrounded by quotations, hit enter, and it fed me the RDR1-RR-BETA1.iso. However, when I try and open this file in Xenia canary, I just get a black screen. I tried with both versions of the game and still no luck. See attached pictures for what shows during the install.bat process. Clearly it is getting some error but I have no idea why. Any help with this would be appreciated, as this is a very cool mod.

I suggest you wait until the next update with fixed compatibility.

Working on new and improved grass textures for the next update, trying to make the map feel more "green" in New Austin like it was in RDR2

Hey, I know it's probably not in the scope of this project (and maybe it's not even possible), but have you considered trying to "enable" (again, don't know if it's possible at all) the multiplayer hideouts, legendary animals and stuff like that in the base game?
