Friedlander is a determinant choice, it's not canon whether he dies or not so I don't really see a problem there - dude's crazy enough to be introduced to this whole thing. You can choose his fate in Story Mode, much like you can choose Trevor's or Michael's - in the case of the latter, if he appears in future DLC, you're not gonna tell me he's "supposed to be dead" just because you have the choice to kill him in Story Mode

I see peoples confusion now, looking this up. Letting him live, the news report still states his death, letting him live or die, but one difference, Dr. Friedlander sends Michael an email after a bit if he's spared/gets away.

 

I guess it is canon to let him live/him get away.

It's been awhile since I played the story, I forgot about the email he sends Michael.

Actually, they are all humanoids resembling in everything to real humans. They just don't know it yet, that they were created to entertain us. One day - by the power of the almighty plot - one of them will eventually learn the truth and will try to make others see the light.

 

Also, it gives me an excuse to appease myself when shooting NPCs. (Those pesky realistic pixels and sounds!)

If you spare Dr. Friedlander, the Los Santos Meteor article that says he died will still appear. GTA Wiki now views it as a non-canon oversight.

 

Edit: This sort of thing has been happening even before Online advanced past Story. In the mission Hood Safari, you have the option to kill MC Clip (who to date has never appeared in Online). Regardless of choice, the news will report him dead yet he will continue to post Bleets.

Do we know if any new content other than missions is coming on the same day? I'll do the missions... once. But I'm not too interested in them. Free roam stuff and new vehicles appeal more, at this point. At least I will get more mileage out of them. I did the First Dose strand one time; meanwhile I've stocked and sold my Acid Lab like 15 times by now.

 

Off topic I realize, but I really hope that if they do another big update for this game, it's another heist. They offer a lot more replay value IMO than these missions.

New car (Virtue aka Lotus Evija) possibly a new random free roam event (Military convoy) and maaaaaaybe one or two of the remaining dripfeed cars after the Virtue (the Eudora & Boor) considering R* are sort of treating Last Dose as its own mini thing. There's also clothing items left to drip feed so who knows how many of these things (beyond the Last Dose missions and Virtue) we actually get next week.

I wouldnt be surprised if they announce the end - or at least reduced - support for old gen along with the drip of part 2 of drug wars. 

 

For me, its the only reason why they split drug wars into 2 parts. 

So they were not under the pressure to announce the drop of old gen in december which wouldve harmed their sharkcard sales.

Drug Wars remains one of the worst updates ever in terms of new content, at least for me.

 

That depends on how one looks at it. I think it's good to have a chance to sell acid for $335,200 with a decent motorcycle, especially when I think about all the MC businesses and those slow, useless vehicles that come along with them.

 

Yet the rest is indeed garbage. So bad that I'm not even hoping "The Last Dose," in general, will be any better than "The First Dose."

Agree the acid business is perhaps the only good thing plus Railgun? Maybe, and some clothes which are always nice for personalization, the rest is really lame and yes even the 50 cars garage.
